So what was the final decision? Did they decided in Barstow or Big Lagoon? I really hope in Barstow, it will create alot more jobs for the high desert community.
@IWRaul,.. it would mostly offer minimum wage jobs which a person can't live on. Plus, no real 24 hr public transportation in Barstow. If a manager or boss doesn't like or want the employee to work for them no more, yet can't fire them b/c that worker didn't do anything wrong & can sue, then then employer's will change their schedule if they know the worker depends on public transportation...I use to live there.
What a joke, improve their standard of living. Each member already gets upwards of $40,000 a year from the non-gaming trust money. Talk about greed, they can build a class 2 casino on their reservation with no input from the state. They just want more. This news story is filled with the same half truths that the tribe has been shoveling to the state. Sad that ABC didn't even bother to do any research. Shame on you
I stayed fir a week in Big Lagoon. The natives were very gracious. I even kayaked a crossed it to the sand bar. Awesome place.

Barstow doesn't deserve a casino. The City Counsel is Corrupt, and THAT is why the have had no growth for 25 years.
