  • I don't get the latin thing... was it a show off? Other then this the arrangement is OK... The bass solo would have sounded better with a fretless bass though...

  • Don't like this rendition, why mess with a good thing...

  • This is REALLY cool, I love to see music evolve and he sounds like perfection.

  • wow

  • Did anybody see the fly going in the mouth at the pianoplayer at 0:53?

  • love love love love love Gino Vannelli and love this arrangement ... man still works it vocally

  • Happy CHRISTmas and Happy Boxing Day GINO!

    Cheers

    your friend & Fan

    Mr. Chip's

  • Another Great Video!!!

Superb Sharp Image & Exellent Audio

    Good Job Geepereet!!!

  • What an aweful arrengement. I did not like it not at all. He could he do that ?!! This is not the song, the song that makes my heart beats harder and long for the past good tiems in my life. Gabriela

  • saw Gino in 79, the best concert ever . Brother to brother tour the best.

  • Enlightened music, absolutely raises the soul.

  • Lindo !

  • I have to agree that this arrangement is bizzare. I am a huge Gino fan and have seen him live twice in the last four years. I have to say however, that this arrangement just doesn't work for me.

  • god i LOVE this Man!!!

  • I absolutely LOVE this man's passion, sophistication & genious when it comes to melding music into an emotional feast! Long Live GINO!!!

  • you just dont take away from perfection..all these hay wire arrangements make me sick ..its like he was serious while his brother keyboard player was in the band ,,then after the split up he just plays with the idea that his songs sound like they did in the past..these arrangements take away from the meaning and feeling of the song and other songs ive heard him rearrange..gino i got to hand it to you..you would make a great Butcher

  • Can't say I like this version but it's a jazz improv. Hate that the lyrics reflect so well that secret place.

  • WTF..happen to the original version...fuck this version..

  • @meatpole55 HEEE YOU,,RESPECT MAN>>>>>

  • @meatpole55 What happened to your language? Go to your room. Yeah, the original is better, he went pauper in paradis on this one, if you know what I mean.

  • why cant a fucking keyboard ist just play it like his brother ..there is no better versino

  • This great song i want to here when i am not here anymore! Gino is my gide in life with his music!

  • Classic

  • im looking for the hit he had in 1976 or 7, about making it to the morning light..

  • Otmaro Ruiz, one of the most talented musicians from Venezuela, is playing the piano. Fantastic!!! Wonderful music and video. Thanks for sharing!

  • terrible version. Sounds like shit. Goes fast then goes slow? Who the hell did the arrangements.?

  • @calferath ........im so glad to see some one feels like i do ..you just dont take away from perfection..all these hay wire arrangements make me sick ..its like he was serious while his brother keyboard player was in the band ,,then after the split up he just plays with the idea that his songs sound like they did in the past..these arrangements take away from the meaning and feeling of the song and other songs ive heard him rearrange..gino i got to hand it to you..you would make a great Butcher

  • I have always loved Gino since i was a kid. And here 30 years later he still sounds just as awesone as he did then. This is a fantastic version of this classic song of his. Thank you for posting it. This brings back off brautiful memories of that time period.

  • Gino baby, you still look good man! I will always love you. I saw you perform when I was 10, must have been 1976, and man, your voice is just as beautiful with age as than. Love you, love you, love you.

  • bUENA VISTA SOCIAL CLUB VERSION???....HORRIBLE.

  • mmmmm....No..this version..NO........WTF ..

  • Who did the arrangement? Russ Ferrante? Or Gino himself?

  • wow, I don't know whether to laugh or cry...Part of me wants to love the song, and I do...but the many song changes make it sort of a joke. That pretentious jazz sax. Awful. Just bad. But Gino is so great. And it is a classic song from an old school guido. And finally, I'm from Philadelphia originally. So I have a deep appreciation for diegos.

  • Gino is a superb artist, and as he has matured, so has his music. He's been my #1 artist for over 30 years. You can't help but love him, his passion, his music. He's just so talented, I hope he continues to be a part of our musical world forever.

  • Amazing vocalists!!! His control of his voice is unbelievable!

  • Oh Lord You Smiled on this Man!

    Such an Artist, Dynamic, Memorable!

  • (PT 2.)What sensitivity, artistry, what musical genius is this? None other than the master himself, Gino Vannelli. THIS is music worth listening to, a voice to be adored, a true legend. Let us count our blessings!

  • (PT 1.)Incredibly beautiful performance! This arrangemt elaborates on the melodic & harmonic core of a poignant song & takes us on a sonic ‘collage’! How fortunate we are to live at this time to witness the amazing life & talent of Gino Vannelli, this rare composer, vocalist, arranger, philosopher, & artist. Gino takes his grand musical inspiration & transforms it into beautiful, artistic sonic reality for us through his vocal mastery with such excellent interpretive flair & technical expertise.

  • That was... incredible.

Is this full concert on CD, DVD? I must have it!

This is almost perfect, just beautiful vocal performance, power and delicate and music matched his interpretation.

  • I have Yonder Tree, which is awesome. Did he record any jazz albums like that since then? Also, does anyone know if it is possib;e to buy a live Gino DVD?

  • Ya know for it's population Canada really puts out some great artist....cause they're so close to being American!?

  • simply incredible

  • This is wonderful; I love the more modern Gino with GOOD digital audio; and that voice is just as incredible as ever. I hope Gino is making music for a long time to come.

  • Gino forever...

  • I loved this song. But you have ruined it's earthy appeal, by trying to satisfy the appetite of jazz fans. It was a rock ballad that had the ability to cross genres. You took a song with universal appeal and sold it's soul. Go back and watch the video you made. It was moving. Please, my friend.

  • @Guitarrmann agree with you totally!

  • Wow..crazy cool performing....outstanding..thanks

  • ¡Estupenda adaptación del súper clásico de G. Vannelli!

Stupendous adaptation for this G. Vannelli's super classic!

  • OMG! this is incredible. I soooo love his music!

  • Best falsetto ever hit!!!!!

  • thank you.

  • Just love it! Wish I could have been there to hear it live! The man is incredible!

  • He ruined it!!This used to dark with a groove!

  • Undoubtedly one of the best captured arrangements of this fantastic song. For those of us who miss the big sound of the synth bass, rest assure that this arrangement truly show cases Gino's brilliant writing and technique. Lets remember how fortunate we all are to have the opportunity to hear his brilliance as he continues to share his God given gifts amist enormous record industry controversy and turmoil. Thanks a million Gino for still caring!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • He's wonderful. Has been my favorite since the early 80's. Beautiful voice!!!

  • Never Gets Old. Awesome talent! *Marta-Enid, OK*

  • All you folks that have criticised this version are forgetting an important point. You have the sublime original version for ever, but everyone grows musically, not least Gino himself. If the orchestra had played a 'standard' version they might have missed out on the new perspectives that this chart offers. Quite obviously Gino has moved more towards jazz since 1980, so perhaps its only natural that there would be some jazz influences here that reflect his approach. This is a neat alternative

  • The bass line in the original was fantastic.....this rendition, while lovely, has completely missed it

  • Where can I purchase a DVD or CD of this performance????

  • Gino does a nice job and I like the changes, but he messed up his own lyrics mwahahaha I love ya G!

  • The evolution of Gino Vanelli; I loved him then and I do now. Thanks for posting this!

  • Even though I have watched this clip dozens of times, I still get chills and am so moved. It's truly one of the most beautiful vocal performances I have ever heard.

  • Sounds like a wonderful combination of Gino and Pat Metheney Group at the same time! 5 stars!

  • I was captivated by his voice, as always, then, what the heck happened? That horrible intrusion of jazz music! It ruined the song . His voice is heavenly and that's what I wanted to hear; not all that craziness. Sorry if I'm alone here, but Gino, I love your voice just by itself!

  • I must admit when I first read your comment I thought, "he's just being picky" but I as I heard it I get where you are coming from. The song is a soft ballad and should have been left as such. I am still into the original

  • No, you're not alone. WTF was that for?

    -Great voice though.

  • EXACTLY!! What the HELL did he do to this, my favorite song of his??? I realize he wrote it, but I think he should have left it the way fans remember [and want it] to remain! But he sure does still have the pipes, no?

  • I agree with you 'salluvsya". The beginning with the piano was impressive. I never tough this great song could get any better, but the crazy-instrument-mix ruin it.

  • Very amazing indeed, this arrangement takes you on a new adventure yet still holding close the sentimental essence of the original. Well done Gino and cast!

  • adoro esta cancion, es primera vez q oigo esta version y esta espectacular.... con toques como de jazz aysss q bonito oirlo

  • Beautiful arrangement, but in my opinion, the 70's version is better and 70's and 80's Gino also.

  • His voice is unique and so sweet to the ear.

  • my God, this man is one of the most incredible vocalists of our era

  • One of the best version of Living inside myself (in my opinion the almbum version is the best)

  • No way is this 'overdone'! Wonderful, multi dimensional and the arrangement's full of drama and colour and I love the samba groove quotes from 'Where am I going'.

I WISH this was available on DVD!

  • The original was very large+dramatic, and that was cool. This version sounds good, but it's a bit 'overdone'! The best part about Gino's music was the synth-fusion-soul element. I'll pass...but still love the song!

  • that is the very point of gino"s music

  • Please do not remove this again....Please!!!!

  • I absolutely LOVE this live version. I've been looking everywhere for this. And I was so disappointed when they removed it from YouTube. Thanks, once again for re-posting.

    snootzie78--GINOGIRL4EVER

  • Horrible to BE removed as well! ;-)

  • @Geepereet ..why did he lower the fukkin key..the lazy bastard..i wanna vomit..it sounds like som fukkin jewish barmitsva

  • @meatpole55 Meatpole is the perfect name for you. Obviously, you are a meathead. You clearly have no musical knowledge or taste. You are a moron. Your comments make me to vomit and you sound like an idiot! Get lost dude!

  • @getoveritk LMAO..listen i have been listening to G V SINCE HIS FIRST ALBUM BACK IN THE 1970'S..AND ILL TELL YOU THIS IS A GOOD SONG..BUT ITS NOT IN THE ORIGINAL KEY..lol..but how in the fukk would you know...you are to busy trying to act like you have some intellectual concept of his music history..sorry my friend ..i know the lyrics and chords to eversong he ever wrote..the birls call me meatpole..and you are the knowledge-less meathead

  • @meatpole55 I, too, have been a fan since the beginning of his career.Have seen him concert 10 times in my life. Sorry, but I do have a musical background, which obviously you don't have, or you're just too close-minded to take in something different, changed up.I personally love the way he is always taking things to a new level, mixing it up,not just willing to become stale. Clearly, you are NOT the gino fan you propose to be, or you would understand that. Open your mind and close your mouth.

  • @getoveritk i dont care if you seen him 40 times and had sex with his body guard...i never said i hated what he did to the song....im not sure you are aware mister musical genius..but everyone has their own favorite version of his music wether it be live or recorded..just becuz i dont agree with you doesnt give you any right to change my feelings ok....hey if you dont like what i say..im sorry ..why dont you go lick some Gay ass ....LMAO..i hope no one else disagrees with U..lol

  • @meatpole55 ..also..its his song ok..he can do what he likes with it ..forgive me oh GAY ASSLICKER..i hope my not liking his song doesnt bound me for the gates of hell...

  • @getoveritk ..well i can see that the only musical taste you hav is the taste you leave in your mouth from eating from your own toilet after you SHIT..

  • @snootzie78 I like this too very nice!!!

  • Magnificent! particularly with the Samba interjections from 'Where Am I going?' -very ingenious musically.

Gino goes from strength to strength musically as he matures. One of music's greats.

  • Hey Gino, what happened to the whitefro, dude?

Anyway, you've still got great pipes.
