@xpinoyxposterx As a 15 y/o [back in the 70's], my 1st school band exchange was with school from Port Orchard, Wash. [a stone’s throw west from Seattle across Puget Sound]. The Port Orchard school band came to our school in Victoria, BC first – we visited them a few weeks later.

The kid billeted with my family commented upon his arrival how surprised he was that we didn’t live in igloos & how modern Victoria looked. It was my 1st intro to a parochial American view of Canada.
