  • she's A-list, jazz, or rock. respect!

  • HOLY FUCK SHE'S GOOD! Pave the way for us female drummers. She's great. :-)

  • Nice, Cindy's an awesome drummer. I'm doing her for my school project.

  • @Crazeemanproductionz i'd do her, not sure if she's that great of a drummer though

  • Nice groove... I'm diggin' it.

  • Good groove great drummer but that kit sounds proper shit and this clip is not at all long enough so overall I give this video a huge thumbs DOWN!!!!

  • zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz yawn zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Nothing any drummer can't pull off ....... boring.

  • rock n roll is dead?........

  • Looks like shes pounding the shot outta the kit

  • So f**in Bonham and Cindy is really a jazz player. Love her.

  • This chick grooves so hard it hurts. Anyone who says anything negative about this just knows nothing about the drums.

  • ...come on and love me... well known kravitz track....

  • @Andiaufderkiste

cindy would certainly teach you a thing or two.

  • Are you serious? She absolutely kicks ass on this!

  • @Andiaufderkiste Mate, before you start writing your opinion for all the world to see, you need to first educate yourself. If you don't know what you're saying, don't say it.

  • @JackPollitt

You're the checker from the necker, i still very happy that we have a Lord like you. Du Nullblicker!! Look for Hilary Jones or Emmanuelle Caplette. Schatzilein die können Trommeln

  • @Andiaufderkiste Are you insane or just messing around... Thats Cindy Blackman - Santana, I think she could probably drum you under the table.

  • @Andiaufderkiste Stop talking shit,dude..youre making a fool of yourself, and youre making it clear that you dont know shitt about drumming.. Stfu!!

  • @byLivio

I don't understand the agressivity in your comment. I visit your link to your Homepageclip. And now i'm understanding your reaction. "The apple does not fall far from the tree".

  • @Andiaufderkiste Yep,i keep drumming and you keep being a prick.

    Peace.

  • its like bonzo montreux (song from the album coda of led zeppelin)

  • maqprus? Learning/playing a "simple" beat maybe easy, but putting it in the pocket & making it feel right, AINT!! J Bonhams beat 2 Kashmir & many other Zep tunes was "easy", the groove 2 Peg(entire song, 1 drum fill) is easy, the Back in Black beat is easy, & the list goes on..! Its about the feel, the attitude behind it, the Groove!! Yeah its a simple beat, BUT, she's groovin her butt off!! Simplicity/Groove will always rule of over difficulty! It aint a great song, w/out a great groove!!!

  • Loving this pocket

  • Anybody that doesn't see talent in this obviously knows nothing about drumming. This is the kinda stuff that makes you move. Nobody in the audience gives a shit about how complicated your fills are, the only thing that a drummer can do at the back of the stage to make an impact on the audience is groove so hard that you can't help but bop your head up and down.

  • I want to be like her >.< lol

  • She's good but this beat is very easy to play;]

  • @maqprus you just don't get it yet

  • nice snare! what is it???

  • Cindy... sexy as fuck!

  • female bonzo

  • her fills are kind of lame but she had one good one the beat was alright

  • sick chick!!

  • sounds a bit like Bonzo's montreux, nice

  • she kicks ass

  • INVITENME A LA BODA FELICIDADES

  • sweet fill at 0:13.....

  • She is awesome

  • awesome; the World nees more Cindy Blackmons!!

  • Hardowt!! sista!

  • thats what drumming is about. thats the way to do simply thing fuck.ing groovy. and btw., young drummers, you all should show this vid your band members, that allways says ''be quiet!!'' or '' put some fuck.ing something into the drums, its disturbing loud''. bullshit, drums are drums. see how powerful she plays, that what drumming is about!!!

  • toca igual de simplon que travis barker

  • è un groove di bonham senza dubbi! ;)

  • she should fill in for led zeppelin. she's got that bonhamesque groove. my opinion.

  • @koolaid28.................your right. buuuuuut that would be so painful to see. cindy blackmen..filling in for JOHN BONHAM.

  • I have a Crush on Her.

  • Fat groove!

  • Shes Good.

    Poeple,

    Chek out:

    Dennis Chambers and

    Sheila E.

    [:

  • Yes, but you should check out her playing in her own fusion band. She's very accomplished. Not unlike Dennis Chambers, who's one of my favorites.....

  • Wow she's my kind of drummer

  • @amjan totally boring

  • Dude, I seriously wish you could show us how you groove. This one is SMOKIN HOT!

  • With all respect, grooves are 7/8ths of what drumming is all about. Every other vid of Cindy on YouTube features her soloing. This one is actually interesting. Joe Morello once said that no drummer gets a gig by playing a two hour solo! He is so right!

  • Ive been watching alot of her vids and i just cant stand the way her drums are tuned. Just partial i guess but, she is still great.

  • Please any drummers out there - can you work out the drum tabs for this awesome groove?

  • of course

  • and .....trumpet roll....the drum tabs are...?

  • I'd do it for you but I can only write notes.

  • Drum tabs? Just fuckin' listen to it and write it out. What sort of idiot are you?

  • @Lehmann108 i agree its easy to just listen and write it down. simple beat

  • To anyone who is questioning Cindy Blackman: please go check out other youtube vids, educate yourself about drums, then if your machismo refuses to process the info go cry in your closet while contemplating suicide because you will never be that

  • I need to marry that woman. Too Damn Funky.

  • that was ok but not impressive. that was only a warmup a five year old can do that

  • go watch cindy blackman play jazz..

  • Yeah, a 5 year old would have that much limb independence to play that beat and would already be playing ghost notes. Oh wait, you probably didn't notice the ghost notes and don't even know what they are because your a dumb piece of shit.

  • no, you are a dumb piece of shit i didnt say she is bad you fuck i said that was just a warmup and yeah i have seen 5 year olds that can do this and i am a drummer so you can go suck a dick faggot

  • Um, your right, you didn't say she is bad. I never said you did, and have no clue why you brought it up except that you did because youre a moron. You have not seen a 5 year old doing this beat. And just because youre a drummer doesn't mean you know what a ghost note is, even though I never brought that up either and don't know why you mentioned it unless youre a retard which I'm quite certain you are.

  • kick ass!!!!!

  • Yea STFU supatol, make a video of yourself doing that beat. The timing is not that easy, try it.

  • Wow!! She Is Fantastic On Playing The Drums!! :)

  • Anyone know that drum tabs for this groove? Perhaps someone with good ears can work it out? I believe it is from "Come on and love me" on Lenny's Are you going my Way Album.

    Great Groove!!

  • supatol, you're a fuckwit!! is that her? hands are forced? it's an extremely simple lenny kravitz groove she's playing at a soundcheck, not everyone has to play like mangini or coluita all the time.

  • I like it 'cause it's rude, not technical, and that's what makes it diferent, emotional and personal.

  • supatol, are you out of your mind or drunk? Cindy rules.

  • not on this vid she doenst

  • Comment removed

  • she is a hella good drummer. maybe you just don't get that she's a very agressive drummer

  • Kravitz Groove? ok? But I think I heard that several times before.

  • It's refering to a Kravitz song. It doesn't mean that Kravitz invented that groove.

  • how do her hair fit into that hat...??? fantastic drummer, prefer her in the jazz mode though...

  • She solos as good as any of em and does it with trad grip better funk than chambers and she can rock. Better classic chops than most but jazzes gazz and chambers out the door. Easy to look at don't hurt nothing

  • twitter tweeter haggle & bop, you guys are failing to realize she's good as hell. All of the big ticket moneymakers on the tube has opinions about her skill Of Course!

  • She's freeking amazing!!!

  • This would sound a lot better if her set was tuned for that style of playing, the hallow bass drum kinda denies the beat.

  • Funky...a hip hop/rock pocket groove. Cindy ranks with the best of the drummer on the drum scene today.

  • wow

she definately doesnt play like a girl

  • so how do girls play?

  • @yoyoyoimBC like any other drummer, or are you just that chauvinistic to think otherwise?

  • Whhat!? This is awesome! She rocks better than most I've seen nowadays.

Unfair comparing her to Bonzo though, he is a drum God :P

  • Cindy sounded good with Lenny Kravitz when she played rock/fusion beats......

  • Girlfriend KILLS on drums but we do NOT get enough of her. I mean dayum.. Lenny had her on drums.. Craig Ross on guitar and yet Lenny had to play Paul McCartney and play all the instruments on his albums which kills me. After seeing Cindy work "Are You Gonna Go My Way" live.. hey what might have been. I just hope we get to hear more of her on recording. I mean dayum.. just think of how many EX band members of Prince's bands are out there and his bands NEVER failed to kick ass!!!

  • rocking groove, well done

  • I love Cindy blackman I would marry her

  • i love cindy blackman(my favorite drummer)

  • big stu ur a faggot i bet you cant play drums for shit. go put your ahead gloves on and toss off to travis barker

  • Are you on crack? This clip doesn't come close to showing how good she is. Go watch her solo. Wow.

  • Do I detect a bit of Bonzo's Montreaux in that solo?

  • yeah, it is also reminiscent of Levy but a bit faster. But actually, this is from a Lenny Kravitz song on the "Are You Gonna Go My Way" album, called "C'mon and Love me." Lenny plays it on the record and it grooves even better, but this rocks too.

  • Thought she's a trad-gripper... Oh well, rocks in the matched grips. :D

  • i don't really get the question. where are your ears?

  • Comment removed

  • camcorder mics.

  • goood point

  • What she plays isn't special. It's a nice groove but I'm sure she can do a lot better.

  • I'm with you on that one. I hope she can play better!

  • Yeah all. I'm sure she can play something more interesting than that, considering how long she's been a musician. You gotta keep in mind that it's a Kravitz show, not a drum festival. She probably had to keep the kids happy.

  • @nuthajason An average drummer could do that. It's neither original/inventive nor technical.

  • @coolfather86 hey idiot, it's called pocket. A good srummer isn't someone who's constantly overplaying and showing off. If you really want to know (or wanted to) you'll watch more of her videos.

  • @Shahede7 What's up with the insult? Go find yourself some manners.

I agree with your statement but how does it relate to the video? This video shows a solo effort. Playing a solo is essentially showing off. What's the point of playing a solo that's not original but generic?

  • @coolfather86 Sorry, I wasn't trying to offend you, it's just that hey it's Cindy Blackman, we all know she's a beast, and I've heard many great musicians do simple things like this in similar situations. I'm not Cindy so I don't know her reasoning for it, but it could have just been for fun, I know that's why I play extremely basic things in solo's sometimes. Or maybe to contrast the norm of just straight up showing off super chops. She could be just showing off a different aspect of her skills

  • Sounds like a John Bonham groove!

  • that bass drum is a beast

  • Really!! Have to dissagree with that. It sounded to ringy for my taste. Each to their own though. :)

  • Me to!! i was very disappointed at the show with the sound of her kit. Gerald heyward was on before her and there was just no comparrison!!

  • pity the fool who'd have to follow Gerald Hayward...

  • lol. snickers ... get some nuts!

  • actually i lied i dont know what kind of kit this one is

  • nice
