  • i hate to say the f word but those look like ford tail lights

  • There's so much smoke that the tube attached to the exhaust can't catch all of it lol

  • @steveb213 wastegate

  • must be nice to have money

  • it feels like thunder with viagra drink...

  • brent willsey at powerlabs tuned it and cam hulse did the tranny

  • BONER

  • Idaho rob tune it ? If not it could have made more power

  • badass truck

  • engage jaw drop

  • who the hell cares what chrome he has, with that much power you can do whatever the f*** you want

  • Nice truck, but too much chrome dude.

  • That back bumper is SWEET!!!! Thank you for not ruining the truck with retarded stacks!! lol

  • Just read about this truck in diesel power mag. That's a wicked rig!

  • wow whats up with that faggot ass chrome shitt on the bottum of tha truck!

  • holy fuck 4300 ft lbs!!>??

that shit will move a mountain

  • @W33Dblazer i think he was saying the altitude of the location tested at

  • @W33Dblazer that's his elevation

  • @W33Dblazer

    4300ft elevation, not torque

  • Why doesn't someone build a cummins this souped up yet itll eat the heart outa duramax :/

  • @xXCannonXx seriously?

  • that shit was burning out on the dyno! holy shit! lol

  • @puckusmc29 Naaa man. lol come on

  • I'd like to see how you do in this '10 Diesel Power Challenge. Good luck bro!

  • What kind or torque figures is it producing?

  • torque?

  • how many mpg can u get from this ^^

  • That exhaust collector is lookin good until the tire catches it and it gets torn to shit

  • damn!

  • i dont like chevy but damn that things pourin smoke faster than the exhaust fans can get rid of it lol. nice truck

  • nice truck and the chrome looks good!

  • nice truck, little to much chrome

  • I was thinking the same thing. Can they bolt any more crap on there?

  • @mopar20s yah, but u gimme this truck and you wont be able to see the chrome just mud

  • @mopar20s man you can never have too much of ANYTHING

  • @mopar20s theres never to much chrome lol

  • @mopar20s little too much evrything

  • @mopar20s u can never have to much chrome!

  • @379peterbiltman Eh, untrue IMO. I like a little bit of chrome, but that much is too hard to keep up with especially if you live on a dirt road lol. Looks sick as hell though! It's just a matter of how committed you are to keeping it look nice, with all that chrome.

  • @379peterbiltman a little chrome is too much chrome.

  • Awesome #'s !!!! DURAMAX POWER !!!

  • Funny how it always comes to grammar. I still dont see why. Not that I care, I personally enjoy seeing people fighting back and forth, but, we are lacking originality.

  • i like your stance on this youre the first with similar views to mine

  • its hard to be a thoroughbred like us my friend.

  • please dont leave such dumbfuck comments that have nothing to do the video

  • Talk is cheap; everyone's a critic.

Look, that's a hell of a lot of horsepower and torque (particularly from a Diesel), but excessive weight + poor aerodynamics are going to compromise the outright performance & handling.

    FACT.

I asked for the performance figures; I got "your an idiot" - explain to me how that reply pertains to the video?!

Not going to accept 1-line abuse from unintelligent, teenage males who've never ever driver a super car, let alone rebuilt /tuned engines (as I have).

  • @MOTODUDE125 I like potatoes.

  • @MOTODUDE125 blue is my favorite color

    cows go moo

  • What the fuck is this?An english/grammar class? What a fucking retard! Is my punctuation O.K. with you?Let us know, Mr.Wizard.

  • What torque does this monster make then?

  • Interesting experiment - I'm glad somebody in the world has done something "mental" like this - I just hope too many don't copy the idea. ;0)

But what kind of numbers does this translate into (0-60, 0-100, standing 1/4, standing mile, 0-100-0, etc.) with such a heavy vehicle?

Armoured tanks have thousands of Diesel Horsepower but top speeds of only 40mph.

  • type in idaho rob for some 1/4 mile times for a duramax over 1,000 horsepower running only diesel

  • more hp doesnt mean higher top speeds. gearing in the trany and rear end is what decides that. hp means more power for towing and faster acceleration

  • I appreciate what you're saying: If you give a vehicle a huge amount more power but don't adjust the gearing to allow the vehicle the opportunity to utilise that power, you're just going to bounce off the rev limiter!

    ;)

But Power and Aerodynamics (Drag/Rolling Resistance) ARE also limiting factors.

    Power = Force x Velocity.

So in a properly geared vehicle at Vmax (i.e. when the body isn't accelerating), effectively the engine's power is just being used to Force air out of the way, etc.

  • that would be torque you are talking about.

  • your an idiot

  • What a stunningly incompetent retort.

First off, a sentence begins with a capital letter; second, a sentence ends with either a Full Stop (a.k.a. 'Period'), Question Mark, or Exclamation Mark (a.k.a. 'Exclamation Point' or 'Pling'); third, you have just stated the possessive form when you actually intended abbreviated (i.e. you used "your" when you actually meant "you're" or "you are").

Amazing that somebody above the age of 5 could make such elementary mistakes - but maybe YOU'RE AN IDIOT?

  • i cant belive you wasted your time typing that to me

  • @DualsMeatChevy94 i agree with tj

  • ?hhhhhhhh

  • Trucks of this HP are going deep into the 11's. There are many more out there in the 4 digit RWHP range that are deep in the tens and high 9's. Trap speeds are anywhere from 130's to 140. They are averaging 1.4 to 1.6 60 foot times. There are many transplants as well that are in the 7-8 second range.

  • @jimdawg185

    Thanks!

Finally an answer from a guy who a) knows what he's talking about, and b) has something worth saying.

    Cheers.

  • @Tj930

You have a great point as well. My Excursion weighs well over 8600 pounds and I race it. Some times I feel a little myopic. But it does feel good beating little ricers that weigh less than a full tank of diesel does. I guess it's all about culture. Most of these guys are farm boys that grew up with a half dozen of these things in the back 80. They just love them, like I do mine. I have though come to my senses (?) and am in the process of building a purpose super street Excursion...

  • that truck wouldnt stay on the dyno with 4300 lbs of torque

  • I hope you guys know that he means 971hp uncorrected @ 4300 ft ELEVATION! LOL Not ft lbs.

  • sorry i thought it meant ft lbs of torque, what does it mean at 4300 ft elevation, does the engine run harder?

  • The higher the elevation the harder the engine and turbo work due to less oxygen. Thats why people run faster at sea level tracks than others, you'd run 13.1 at Maple Grove but in Colorado you'd run a full second or more slower due to elevation.

Places like Pikes Peak hill climb racing is very hard to run. At 9,000-14,000ft elev. It robs racers anywhere from 25-30% of power that they make.

So realistically this guy in vid is pushing 1100hp+/- corrected where I live at 200ft above sea level.

  • thanks for the info

  • @sr20tuner thats great power for the altitude

  • That would be elevation, not torque. Notice the ft at the end, not ft/lb. No light-truck diesel engine could ever come close to that much torque and survive being turned over, let alone run on a dyno.

  • why do these things shoot off so much shit? Someone at my college has this type of truck and each time he takes off he shoots shit out everywhere. Isn't it illegalish?

  • Its perfectly legal. It is just the unburned fuel that is not needed at lower RPM's that is being semi-vaporized andturned to soot.

  • Well his sit blows of all over my car so thats why i pass him each day after school ;)

He tries to beat me everyday but never succeeds.

  • wow you are retarded you cant get a ticket for havin a little bit of smoke, and its a diesel its gonna smoke when you give it the bacon

  • nice exhaust leak

  • leaking out the end got so much going into the catching thing that it cant handle it

  • i was probably just putting out more cfm of exhaust than the output fan could handle.

  • omg

  • diesel 0_0

  • Comment removed

  • He is talking about the altitude at which it was dyno'd.

  • 4300ft as in elevation.

  • im pretty sure he mean the 4300 is the altitude not torque

  • nice isuzu engines

  • built with 100 gm parts.. dumbass

  • haha thats someone elses problem haha i dig it minus the fact he has an exhaust leak haha

  • I'd love to see the smoke plume off that truck on the street. He really needs to get vertical pipes on that thing because you could ruin someone's paint job or give them lung cancer at a red light.

I bet when he does a burnout there is more exhaust smoke than tire smoke.

  • awesome.that is a fuckin beast

  • what types of mods do u have to do to pull 971hp out of a duramax? thats a crap load of power

  • i would guess bigger crank, injectors intake, exhaust, twin turbos, chip and more stuuf

  • love it, i would love to pull that on the street with huge amounts of black smoke that will cloud up the sky :).

  • lol the exhaust pipes couldnt even collect how much coal it was pushin out

  • they're red l.e.d.'s

  • i wanna know what kinda tail lights they are... they look nice

  • How big of a lift is that?

  • Are those Idaho plates? I think I've seen this pull at the State Fair. I live in Blackfoot.

  • I think you might be right!

  • 971 at 4300 thats crazy means its pushing ALOT more at sea level.

  • i bet it was even higher than that

  • thats is a baddass truck..dont care what brand it is.
