@379peterbiltman Eh, untrue IMO. I like a little bit of chrome, but that much is too hard to keep up with especially if you live on a dirt road lol. Looks sick as hell though! It's just a matter of how committed you are to keeping it look nice, with all that chrome.
Funny how it always comes to grammar. I still dont see why. Not that I care, I personally enjoy seeing people fighting back and forth, but, we are lacking originality.
Look, that's a hell of a lot of horsepower and torque (particularly from a Diesel), but excessive weight + poor aerodynamics are going to compromise the outright performance & handling.
FACT.
I asked for the performance figures; I got "your an idiot" - explain to me how that reply pertains to the video?!
Not going to accept 1-line abuse from unintelligent, teenage males who've never ever driver a super car, let alone rebuilt /tuned engines (as I have).
I appreciate what you're saying: If you give a vehicle a huge amount more power but don't adjust the gearing to allow the vehicle the opportunity to utilise that power, you're just going to bounce off the rev limiter!
;)
But Power and Aerodynamics (Drag/Rolling Resistance) ARE also limiting factors.
Power = Force x Velocity.
So in a properly geared vehicle at Vmax (i.e. when the body isn't accelerating), effectively the engine's power is just being used to Force air out of the way, etc.
First off, a sentence begins with a capital letter; second, a sentence ends with either a Full Stop (a.k.a. 'Period'), Question Mark, or Exclamation Mark (a.k.a. 'Exclamation Point' or 'Pling'); third, you have just stated the possessive form when you actually intended abbreviated (i.e. you used "your" when you actually meant "you're" or "you are").
Amazing that somebody above the age of 5 could make such elementary mistakes - but maybe YOU'RE AN IDIOT?
Trucks of this HP are going deep into the 11's. There are many more out there in the 4 digit RWHP range that are deep in the tens and high 9's. Trap speeds are anywhere from 130's to 140. They are averaging 1.4 to 1.6 60 foot times. There are many transplants as well that are in the 7-8 second range.
You have a great point as well. My Excursion weighs well over 8600 pounds and I race it. Some times I feel a little myopic. But it does feel good beating little ricers that weigh less than a full tank of diesel does. I guess it's all about culture. Most of these guys are farm boys that grew up with a half dozen of these things in the back 80. They just love them, like I do mine. I have though come to my senses (?) and am in the process of building a purpose super street Excursion...
The higher the elevation the harder the engine and turbo work due to less oxygen. Thats why people run faster at sea level tracks than others, you'd run 13.1 at Maple Grove but in Colorado you'd run a full second or more slower due to elevation.
Places like Pikes Peak hill climb racing is very hard to run. At 9,000-14,000ft elev. It robs racers anywhere from 25-30% of power that they make.
So realistically this guy in vid is pushing 1100hp+/- corrected where I live at 200ft above sea level.
That would be elevation, not torque. Notice the ft at the end, not ft/lb. No light-truck diesel engine could ever come close to that much torque and survive being turned over, let alone run on a dyno.
why do these things shoot off so much shit? Someone at my college has this type of truck and each time he takes off he shoots shit out everywhere. Isn't it illegalish?
I'd love to see the smoke plume off that truck on the street. He really needs to get vertical pipes on that thing because you could ruin someone's paint job or give them lung cancer at a red light.
I bet when he does a burnout there is more exhaust smoke than tire smoke.

Interesting experiment - I'm glad somebody in the world has done something "mental" like this - I just hope too many don't copy the idea. ;0)
But what kind of numbers does this translate into (0-60, 0-100, standing 1/4, standing mile, 0-100-0, etc.) with such a heavy vehicle?
Armoured tanks have thousands of Diesel Horsepower but top speeds of only 40mph.
Tj930 2 years ago
type in idaho rob for some 1/4 mile times for a duramax over 1,000 horsepower running only diesel
1370BlackKnight 2 years ago
more hp doesnt mean higher top speeds. gearing in the trany and rear end is what decides that. hp means more power for towing and faster acceleration
