@pikemancolley the m5 is much much much faster in a straight line and definitely faster around track. The new f10 m5 has 680Nm of torque. Whereas the xfr has 625Nm of torque. The new M5 has 560 hp against the xfr's 510. The looks are simply dependant on the beholder and The b&w sound system isnt really something that would set the car apart either. and saying jaguar is a cooler brand than bmw is like saying fc barcelona are cooler than real madrid. Just an opinion!

I drove the Tesla Roadster at an autoshow few weeks back. All clever and stuff but if youre planning some roadtrip across Europe in an electric car, forget it. With 15-16 hours charging time it will take weeks to cross a country :)

Ever since Ford left Jaguar in a state the only way to go was up. The XF and all its variantswill hopefully make everybody forget the S-Type and X-Mondeo (see what I did there). My E55 will be going in the new year and I am sniffing around the XF V8 range. Ihave no qualms about reliability as that is an issue with any car of any calibre within the high performance bracket. P.S my Holden Monaro is up for sale too. Maybe one of you Yanks can buy it and say it's really a Pontiac.

They wont actually do it for a while.
I drove the Tesla Roadster at an autoshow few weeks back. All clever and stuff but if youre planning some roadtrip across Europe in an electric car, forget it. With 15-16 hours charging time it will take weeks to cross a country :)

Ever since Ford left Jaguar in a state the only way to go was up. The XF and all its variantswill hopefully make everybody forget the S-Type and X-Mondeo (see what I did there). My E55 will be going in the new year and I am sniffing around the XF V8 range. Ihave no qualms about reliability as that is an issue with any car of any calibre within the high performance bracket. P.S my Holden Monaro is up for sale too. Maybe one of you Yanks can buy it and say it's really a Pontiac.

FYI, ALL the new Jags that are out and are coming out in the next year or so were developed under Ford long before they sold Jaguar to Tata. Just for the fact that the M badge has so much meaning and is such a prestigous name that if some kid were to see the Jag they would say hey that Jag is sick but what car is that? as for the M5 it would be a no brainer and without a doubt has made a statement for all saloons and the funny thing is the M5 was put together in 04

It doesnt matter...the XFR can be had in some cases for near a price of a new M3 these days. and its in another world...compared to an M..
XFR is better than an m5 in alot of ways, interior being one of them.
XFR is better than any german rival in its price range..

dont mean to burst anybodys bubble but the M5 handles a little better and is slightly faster and not to mention the resale value compare to the Jag but the Jag is a sick ass car and is definitely more comfortable.
