Wow, an awesome app, now you can press one button in stead of two!
Seriously though, this phone turned out to be what N97 supposed to - great web browsing, awesome gaming and video capabilities, and a stable OS.
I'm soo sorry i bought the N97 right now, It crashed on me 3 times in 5 months, had to hard reset, deleting all the setting, preferences, apps, calendar entries and contacts. N900e is cheaper and far better. I'm a victim of good advertising I guess...
The photoalbum crashes when you zoom into pictures, browser crashes when you load a page that's more than 3 mb (YouTube being a prime example). The Lag is sometimes unbearable, it takes up to 5 seconds just to switch to portrait mode, Unable to play DivX videos, and even if you encode video yourself, the framerate is too low.
It wouldn't be fair to mention the new firwmare (2.0), it fixel a lot of bugs and included cinetic scrolling. Now my phone seems to be working much faster (yet not as fast as it's supposed to). Feels as if the phone was released half-baked and now they're doing everything to fix it.
One strange thing I noticed though, earlier, when you pressed "back" in the music player while in 'now playing', you were taken back to the album's song list. Now pressing back will send you on the home screen, and to get to the album, you have to go to music library, select to show 'by artist', then look for your artist, then look for the album you desire, and only then you will get the list. It was so much more convenient the other way around, i see no reason why Nokia would change that...
oh good, i thought for a second those were hte problems with the n900, which is going to be released in a couple of weeks in Canada by Wind Mobile.
I'm sorry to hear about the problems, but if you live in Canada u can get the n900 at the price nokia sells it to wireless companies when it comes on wind mobile, they don't profit from handsets
this tool is practicaly only, if the keyboard is not flipped out! with the keyboard you have to press (sym/strg) + (backspace) at the same time, to enter the taskmanager.
i have the N900 and love it. Firstly, it a mobile computer, with very, very good call quality. After 2 wks as my daily device, i'm plesed, battery file need some work i get about 10 - 18hrs and that includes at least 1hr musical playback over wifi, wifi always on, pics and moderate internet surfing. The phone call quality and reception is very, very good. Best in call quality i've had since my last wired phone. its not for everyone, it take some brain capacity to use. I love my N900.
It seems to me that people who give a bad review about the N900. Do so because they have a large money investment/time lock-in with there current phone.

it's an awesome device, full of power, but thick and bad battery life. But it's a great device :P
zkyevolved 2 years ago
r they going to do a upgrade so the can make it usable in portrait mode?
S69NER 2 years ago 2
Well it depends on what you're looking for.
If you want a smart phone then buy an iPhone, N97, or a comparable HTC phone.
If you want a pocketable linux computer with a phone calling application on it. then the N900 is for you.
