Officer McGee has never heard of the dilemma zone--an engineering defect in all signalized intersections which guarantees a steady stream of cars running red lights--just like the cars turning left. Also, Officer McGee has never bothered to check the signal plan for this intersection to make sure that the left yellow arrow has the same duration as the straight thru. If not, that is yet another defect--and a direct violation of the Laws of Motion.

Those cameras are for the counties monetary gain. since they cannot classify it as moving or driving offense because there is no way for them to prove without a reasonable doubt that you in fact were driving the vehicle without an officer present. ITS UNCONSTITUTIONAL SO TO GET AROUND THAT PESKY DOCUMENT THEY CLASSIFY IT AS A BUILDING CODE VIOLATION YEP THAT'S RIGHT. the ticket does not effect your driving record or your insurance. A Tennessee gov survey showed that Sullivan county was hands down no disputing, that it had the highest income from these unconstitutional red light cameras. An officer should be at scene of a violation to write a ticket. Its nothing more than a more money maker don't believe any half arsed explanation they give you cant trust that police dpt anyways there nothing but a bunch of hypocrites and domestic offenders, in short write state rep not your congressmen if you want something done about this

I am so mad right now!! I got a ticket in the mail today from one of these robocops... I turned right onto Moreland Drive off of Ft.Henry Drive and it gave me a ticket. It claims I ran a red light, even though in the video I clearly turn right, when no other cars are coming, while I am going 21 miles under the speed limit. TELL ME WHAT I DID WRONG?!?!?! This is such bullshit. Since when is right on red illegal in Tn? I've made that turn hundreds of times and it's anlways been ok.

I got the same thing... but on the back in the middle of the ticket it said you have to make a complete stop before proceeding to make your turn.

Want the real story? The ticket says if you mail it in, it is $50 fee and $50 Court Costs...why any court cost if you mail a check in and never see a human? The money goes straight into the kitty! What a rip off! But if you dare contest it, then it goes on your insurance points...if you don't contest it and just pay up, they don't report it to your insurance company. Just an easy way to make money from honest citizens who have REAL tags, REAL registrations, and REAL cash to tap into...

Yeah, some of the red light runners are just flat out rediculous, but i got a ticket for going through the interestion when the light turned red as I passed the crosswalk.

In the period may '06 thru oct 06 the camera intersections had 28 accidents. In May 07 thru Oct 07 there were 31 crashes a 10% increase. With small numbers like this most anything might happen. From july 07 thru Jan 08 the city copllected $950,000 - the fine is twice what it is in Knoxville. I don't suppose this program could be about money.

I think it is an old video. If you look at the date at the read light violation recordings, you see they are dated 2001. Unless he is showing old clips this video is pretty old. :)
