where is eveybody getting these crazy prices for the 2012 zl1 camaro its on 53k and you need to check the chevy website out to see it and ford is going to have hell with this one
first time in history where i think chevy is dump for making this camaro and i would buy a mustang over this anyday look what happens when you let lard asses build a car you get 4120lbs of lard nice car in looks but to damn heavy and the mustang is going to walk all over it in 2013 i hate to say it chevy and I myself hate ford.
The ZL1 will eat the GT500 on the track. Ask any Shelby owner and they'll tell you the old 500 couldn't put the power to the ground with 550hp, it will never do it with 100hp more. The Shelby is a 1/4 mile car, the ZL1 was engineered to be a complete factory, track ready car built for corners, hairpins, and straightaways. Sorry Ford, not this time.

GT500 will smoke this? 550 horsepower in the GT500 this is 580 horsepower.....the 5.0 (mustang gt) is 412 hp and the SS has like 20 more hp and the 5.0 beats it in the quarter and on track.....my point is the gt500 is 20 hp less than the Zl1 sooo maybe the suspension is diffrent but its basically going to be the GT500 on top......just saying

They didn't take the time to work on the suspension like GM did the ZL1, they don't even offer better tires for the GT500 so all that power could be planted properly. All they did was just take a Mustang and gave it more power.
@krocialblack im pretty sure the 5.4 liter motor is not in other mustangs also a GT500 starts at around $55,000 while a ZR1 and ZL1 are easily $90k-$120,000 so i would hope they upgraded more than just the motor for that kind of price tag. Look up Shelby Code Red and think again about saying Ford has never modified a Shelby from head to toe because you clearly havent done your research if you havent ever looked up this 2012 Shelby
@ECLPST Since when was pricing on the ZL1 90 Grand? You might be thinking about the Z06, which is only that price because of options, 70 Grand is it's base price. The ZL1 will have a base price of 50K. It's going after the GT500, so only right it be at the same price range of it. I saw a GT500 Super Snakes go for well over 100 Grand, six digit price tag and it only runs like freaking high 11's to low 12's, if I'm paying that much for a car it better be hitting at least the high 10's.

@poopinator22 Audio doesnt do any justice, have you heard one in real life? I think the ZR1 sounds meaner but this car sounds awesome when you crack it open. I kind of like the Idea of having a civilized quiet car at low RPMs then when you want to get on it, the modulators open up, relieving back pressure and sounding BA. Ive ridden in the ZR1 0-140 and in my opionion, all you need is a switch that opens them when you want, GM actually has that as an option, the ZR1 had it on the button on visor

@poopinator22 Audio doesnt do any justice, have you heard one in real life? I think the ZR1 sounds meaner but this car sounds awesome when you crack it open. I kind of like the Idea of having a civilized quiet car at low RPMs then when you want to get on it, the modulators open up, relieving back pressure and sounding BA. Ive ridden in the ZR1 0-140 and in my opionion, all you need is a switch that opens them when you want, GM actually has that as an option, the ZR1 had it on the button on visor

@Marshmallowrex ok yea i have to admit the exhaust form the rear sounds like shit, but up front or in the car it sounds really good, and the engine cover doesn't look all that bad. the things you said aren't enough to even call it a ricer. i have my opinion on the car and you have your opinion on the car. neither of us are wrong or right. it just comes down how good it does on the track.

@BL80488 Depending on which driver. The Boss is heavier by ~600 lbs and the vette could kill it with a good driver behind the wheel. They are both equal on the strip (both are rated at 0-60 in 4.2 secs)

@krjcook Why would they? Their Race ready Boss goes 0-60 4.o seconds, while the 2011-12 GT500 is 4.4 seconds. Ford got there credit. Anyways Shelby's Contract is up in 2012, next up is the 2013 Cobra.
