I'll admit, the alien is cool but needs a few of the glitches worked out (sticks to the wall too much). The marine needs more range of motion (yes, I mean crouching). Pulse rifle needs to do more damage, and a grenade should insta-kill all species if it's a direct hit. When the alien grabs you from behind, can you melee it off, or are you fucked? Playing it more, it's getting better. The flame unit is wrong. I don't have counterstrike.
Direct hits do insta-gib, obviously you're missing.
If you play a marine with any fervor at all, you'd know the Pulse Rifle does not need to do more damage, you probably need to improve your aim- As I average 20-30 kills relying heavily on the pulse rifle -only-. Hold down the melee button to block light attacks, if you block heavy ones you'll take less damage and barely recover, as for crouching, it's weird to not have it since it's rather customary for most FPS games, but there's no need.
Yea, Marine should be able to crouch. Actually the Pulse rifle is enough powerful, some actually say it's too powerful. Flamethrowers are the weps that should be more powerful.
As a Predator you can melee Alien off, but not as a Marine. Marines are weaks, they are not enough strong to push them off, I think that's makes the game more intense.
And if you know how to play as a Marine, you can easily be the one with most score.

@zombiesecurity Keep in mind that console players cant keep up the speed what the first 2 AVP games requires with gamepads. Another game dumbed down for console level.
Keeping in theme with LV421 colony processor set from the original Aliens movie and era when it was made. Music and hologramic R2D2 style dancer are cool. It adds to the atmos that the place was once alive and kicking.

I would say it's just the demo, it's fixed to 8 people for a reason so in good time the demo will become useless to play with a lack of people on it... There are up/down arrows to the amount of people that can join which are locked at the moment. Private and limited number of player games will be on once you have the full game for sure!

You can definately tell that this guy must be playing on easy or something. Rebellion said the hardest difficulty should be as hard as Directors cut difficulty from the original avp. I am definately playing it on the hardest difficulty when i get it.
It looks cool and all, but the Aliens just didn't seem fast enough, and it looked like you could easily move out of their swipes by sidestepping, something that looks easy as it seems you see it coming a mile off.
Not the horror I gladly remember in the second game playing as the marine.
@rotnem07825 Did you play the Demo? Aliens can run FREAKIN fast. Trailers mostly are Easy Mode and this is probebly an early level, because it still has tutorials.
But The Matchmaking just totally sucks. You can wait 10minutes or more to get a match ready. And the controles might get a few trys to get the hang of them.
You can counter grabs, and the only thing you can do from 5 meters away is the Predator jump move, which is quite hard to land a hit and DOESN'T give you a free kill. it's so annoying how people complain about the grabs, which you can counter, and are hard to do effectively. And how else are going to do such cool things as rip out a persons throat?
Ive played the demo alot and find you have to keep alert!! watch your back! and use that tracker if your a marine to help avoid those cheap grab attacks :)
Can't wait for this game. I don't understand why so many people think it sucks. Yeah, the matchmaking issue the demo had blew, but it's taken care of now, especially on PC. Plus there will be dedicated servers anyway. Thank god.
Probably one of the best intro missions for a game ever. There's just so much tension while trying to anticipate where aliens gonna attack with that techno music playing at the background. Good job Rebellion and Sega. You are on the right track. Day 1 purchase for me.

In multiplayer when you trophy kill somebody from the front they can block you after you grab them.How do they do it?

You just need to press block after they grab you. It doesn't matter how much health you have.

The game is really not banned from Germany - it must actually be released here before a German government board decides those things.
But Sega anticipated that it would be, so they're not gonna release it in G which I perfectly understand.
Latest news from their product management state though, that it will be possible to buy it elsewhere and then play it, even with a German IP.
Problem solved (at least for the adult ones of our little country :)).

This is not one of the harder difficulties. On the harder difficulties the Aliens rush and pounce much more frequently.

You can definately tell that this guy must be playing on easy or something. Rebellion said the hardest difficulty should be as hard as Directors cut difficulty from the original avp. I am definately playing it on the hardest difficulty when i get it.

It looks cool and all, but the Aliens just didn't seem fast enough, and it looked like you could easily move out of their swipes by sidestepping, something that looks easy as it seems you see it coming a mile off.
Not the horror I gladly remember in the second game playing as the marine.

@rotnem07825 Did you play the Demo? Aliens can run FREAKIN fast. Trailers mostly are Easy Mode and this is probebly an early level, because it still has tutorials.

Is the demo worth getting? Huge player in AvP2 and my favourite was the Alien Runner.

The Demo is sure worth getting.
But The Matchmaking just totally sucks. You can wait 10minutes or more to get a match ready. And the controles might get a few trys to get the hang of them.

Its fixed in a patch, yesterday.

You can counter grabs, and the only thing you can do from 5 meters away is the Predator jump move, which is quite hard to land a hit and DOESN'T give you a free kill. it's so annoying how people complain about the grabs, which you can counter, and are hard to do effectively. And how else are going to do such cool things as rip out a persons throat?

Ive played the demo alot and find you have to keep alert!! watch your back! and use that tracker if your a marine to help avoid those cheap grab attacks :)

Worst thing are auto aimed atacks , cluncy movment and camera blow ups after getting hit.
alien slow as hell , changing wallwalk position.
If they remove that crap game will be playable .

Can't wait for this game. I don't understand why so many people think it sucks. Yeah, the matchmaking issue the demo had blew, but it's taken care of now, especially on PC. Plus there will be dedicated servers anyway. Thank god.

Probably one of the best intro missions for a game ever. There's just so much tension while trying to anticipate where aliens gonna attack with that techno music playing at the background. Good job Rebellion and Sega. You are on the right track. Day 1 purchase for me.
