  • i have some thing better than an air horn ... its called a bull bar mounted on my 4wd . and if the bull bar missis my 33 '' tyres wont . im not hating the cycle world its just that some people on a bike come zipping out of no where and drivers have to give way to them. and its alot easier to stop a bike than a 3 ton 4wd .the day i give way to cycles is when they start paying road tax and insurance

  • @deanoobaby If we are going to play "might makes right" I'm bringing a scatter gun and grenades. Rule of Law or Rule of Tyranny: take your pick but understand both have consequences.

  • @cbfhtu68 your right about consequences but i was thinking how many times could you use these items becouse i no my bull bar will last a full tank of fuel

  • @deanoobaby No your bull bar will last as long as it takes you to kill me and you get arrested or you stop your vehicle and I put you down. I have a right to defend my life and if I perceive that you are threatening my life I WILL make an example out of you such that all drivers are terrified of cyclists.

    PEACE! Drive safe!

  • @cbfhtu68 nah ......you see i would get off with self defence ...lesson 101... bull bar legal not classified as a weapon . so when the judge hears that you shot me with a scatter gun and try to blow me up with grenades ..... hell do i need to go on !!!!!!!

  • @deanoobaby There is no such thing as 'Road Tax' in Australia. Are you proposing some new kind of tax for all road users? Many cyclists do have insurance.

  • You're a fucking idiot mate. I bet you love going round beeping that stupid horn

  • I love my AirZound too. Even if there is no immediate need to use it, it's very useful when approaching busy areas and intersections just as a preemptive warning. Motorists cannot always tell where the sound is coming from but it usually causes them to pause and look around for whatever it was, which is often enough

  • I'm considering getting an airzound but I kinda think they are a bit over the top. I'd be a bit worried that it could provoke some nutters.

  • @adelaidecyclist well people's car horns provoke this 'nutter' cyclist, when they beep them without good reason (unless you count having a cyclist as part of the traffic annoys them inherently, i.e. ignorance is a good reason). I've very nearly started some fights due to this. Sorry, I mean the motorist has nearly started some fights, if they learned the rules of the road (and common courtesy of course, on top) then there'd be no problem with this nutter cyclist. I only ask for sense, too much?

  • May I suggest mounting your camera on youjr handle bars? that would make the vids much more whatchable

  • Whats the horn you have on your bicycle, is it called an aizound, or is that just what you call it? I want one.... :)

  • @KrunchyJD go on airzound co.uk...that's what it is called :)

  • @thomase1 Thanks, do you find it effective in warning motorists or do they ignore it?

  • @KrunchyJD Yeah it generally gets noticed. If you commute on busy roads I'd really recommend one...as i said, go on airzound.co.uk - there's videos and my full review on there :)

  • Get a train horn, that would be funny, all that sound coming from a bike. I always have trouble braking and sounding my horn at the same time though

  • That is a damn good horn. I will have to get one. It has a very angry sound lol

  • You have convinced me - just ordered one!

  • haha :) There is a brand that make airzound for around £15. It's the same as mine, with a different sticker on it apparently. I shopped around and got mine for £20 incl. postage - that was on special offer.

They're not perfect (a bitch to fit I found), but so convient just for just warning people when you've not sure what they're going to do.

  • 1 Samui Air Zound £17.99 from ChainReaction

  • That include postage? Sounds like a good enough deal to me! Go for it :)

  • Postage paid - royal mail. One of the reasons I use ChainReaction. Normally comes in the next day (or the day after).

  • Got it on Saturday - bloody hell Baldrick its loud!

I will keep my tring tring bell for minor incursions and cycle paths.

  • Yeah, there are volume settings, but why you'd want it at anything less than max I do not know :P. Did you find mounting it okay? The thing they gave wouldn't fit on my road bike, but a pack of cable ties and you can attach it anywhere :P.

Hope you like it...I wouldn't recommend using it on peds first thing :P

  • Just got mine - the same type as the one finbat got and by crikey it's loud. Louder than I expected it to be.

Yeah I imagine if you were to let rip with it on a canal towpath (deaf as some towpath peds are), they'd be pretty startled. Might even cause some poor jumpy sod to take an impromptu swim.... "Ting"....nothing...."ting ting".....nothing.....**BLAAASSST**...splosh.

  • Haha...that's one option. On a club ride today, went through Saville Gardens which is crown estate. I didn't notice, but we passed a horse and carriage being driven by Prince Philip. Had I noticed I might have given him a big blast :P...probably a good thing I didn't notice, as I don't fancy a night in the Towers. I was too busy focusing on the whip that was a little bit too close to me for my liking.

Also, he wasn't with the queen - some young floozy :P
