We do believe what we believe, and faith causes us to hold on to some things/events/experiences that can't be proved scientifically. I'm open to hearing other opinions and beliefs and defend everyone's right to think or believe what they like, even if I might think they're wrong.

Dear Sekydsined - I've never heard of a person admitting that they are fundamentalist. Fundamentalism has come to be the term used to characterize religious advocates who cling to a stubborn, entrenched position that defies reasoned argument or contradictory evidence - meaning Christian fundamentalism, Islamic Fundamentalism, etc so that fundamentalists ANYTHING is, to me, a dangerous thing. Do you see yourself as a conservative religious person or a fundamentalist? I am curious....

Not enuff room here for a good answer. Probably have to go to two posts. Possibly our definition of "fundamentalist" differs. I see being a "fundamentalist" in my case as continuing to believe in the old-fashioned Bible teachings and following them, doctrinally and from the heart, regardless of what others say or think. I wouldn't try to FORCE anybody else to believe what I believe if they don't after a discussion or explanation of those things.

Hey Sam, I know how your mom town was affected, My town was affected the same way. I live in Kansas we were hit by the ice storm but not to hard. Parts of our town were without electricity for a few days to a week.
