I can see what you mean about the elbow cocking, but damn man these look snappy. plus that's a great recovery, strong and fast with the hips - ur snatch is only going to go up and up.
Oh, I bend forward a little and raise my calves, just before it slams on my hip bone/quads, I pull backwards a bit to straighten it up. My coach taught me this, does plenty good
I don't know my vertical, I don't practice actually jumping...but after an olympic lifting contest I was able to tap a basketball rim with my fingertips without taking any run up steps. I am 5'8" tall.

Thx man I hit a 112.5 kg snatch in a gym with a non OL bar, missed 116 several times.

Doesn't that hurt when you slam the bar on your thighs? Mine had bruises for weeks before I figured how to lower it properly.

hahah, no. Before I lower it I get a tight grip on the bar and just as the bar hits the thighs, I kind of pull it up against me.
