  • You have a whole lot of gorgeous curls!!...I hope to have that much hair hopefully in the next year or so. I'm still transitioning.

  • Oh ok...I REALLY needed to see this and the conditioning one is next! :D

  • I usually wash my hair in braided sections to prevent it from tangling, but it's hard to get a good scalp massage going when I use that method. I'll have to try this. Great video!!!

  • your hair is so awesome. I can't wait until I have that much hair and the water is running through it, weighing it down and making it cover my ears and face... ok I'm done

  • I'm watching your videos like Sex and the City season 3- all in one go! Obviously you're tons more fierce than those chicks who had little to say about me and my life. Thanks a whole bunch! ANd I lLOVE the crunching sound as you smoooooth. AND it doesn't lie down even with all that water? Girl, you gotta head a hair!

  • lol...thank you! im a sex in the city fanatic too (still watching in syndication - mainly bc i can so relate to the mr big thing)

yeah i have a head full alright and this vid is a few months old....but i cant wait til is sooo massive i cant get thru a door frame w/o touching it! let'em say something!! LOL

  • OK! Me, too. I love how my hair leaves people stuck with envy. Nobody does hair like we do!

  • I loveeeee the music (beside the nice tutorial of course =) May I please have the name of the artist? Thanks =)

  • the music is by Chante' Moore (album: a love supreme, 1994)

    ps i replied to u via email b4 i saw this...guess u did see this vid :)

  • Does this method work better for you as opposed to sectioning off your hair. Do you get more tangles or not ?

  • for me this takes less effort. hair separates much easier when wet and by always pulling out i rarely get any tangles if at all.

  • Great video...

I'm going to tell you the same thing I told another YouTuber who has thick hair like yours ;)

Get one of those plastic bottles with the pointy nozzle tip that's normally used for color application. Put shampoo in there and dilute it as needed to get it to come out easily. Then you can either just put the tip on your scalp and squeeze :) or you can part as normal and just run the tip down the part. It may only save you a little bit of time but it worked well for me.

  • thanks...i really dont have any trouble parting in the shower - as long as i use my fingers. if i use a comb it tangles - maybe bc i cant feel the potential knots w/a tool and am more careful with my hands. do you part with it?

  • No, I don't part with the nozzle either because I too prefer to feel for knots with my hands. It just saves time getting the shampoo to your scalp because that's what needs to get cleaned first. I just did this the other day, as a matter of fact, with diluted Dr. Bronner's almond soap. :)

  • oh i c...in stead of reloading over and over...makes since, ill try that, thankx

  • That's so funny, I just purchased one of those yesterday because I have twists in (and need to clarify) but didn't want to cause frizz while lathering. Plus, I didn't want the shampoo getting on my hair (drying it out). It worked so well, got to my scalp and since it lathered in the bottle (shaking), I let the excess shampoo run down my hair and squeezed it out to get my hair clean. I thought, "Why hasn't anyone else thought of this brilliant idea?" People should really share their info more :-)

  • I'm glad I saw this video...i've been trying to figure out how to get shampoo to my scalp!

  • yeah took me a minute to figure it out too...just trying to dig it in there wasnt gettin it :) glad it helped.

  • What kind of Tresseme do you use? That stuff used to make my hair tangle, but it doesn't seem to with you.

  • i use the deep cleansing one when ive used a lot of gel and moisturizers. if i dont have a lot of product residue i opt for a more gentle poo with more natural ingredients..which i tend to switch. right now im using natures gate hemp nourishing poo for dry/frizzy hair. used once so far, so far i like it. find what works for you tho-i cant use suave or pantene like so many others can for the same reason. but then again i was still scrubbing and over manipulating when i used them. let me know:)

  • You have alot of thick hair!

  • youre telling me!! i think i have enough for 2 or 3 ppl. not complaining tho - i remember a bad perm pulling gobs out - i was crying, not cute :)

  • Oooohh....love your hair!!! Because it's so similar to my own. Under running water...mine is still cottony as well! But note that as your hair continues to get longer...the weight of the water + added length will weight it more! ;-)

I wish I found your vids when I was a new natural! I'm not as new anymore! But I never find anyone with hair like ours: cottony + super coily hair. Most have one of those characteristics but not BOTH on the same head...LOL!

  • hi, thanks! thats exactly why i started making these bc i didnt see my crazy schizophrenic type out there LOL! and why i subd to you too..trying to find my lost cousins :)

  • I'm so happy to see you've done a tutorial....subscribing now!!! lol

    I love your beautiful hair

  • thanks for subing...hope it helps bring your naturals out too :)
