If Obama supported those people, maybe there would have been rebellion and the US could have taken the opportunity to arm and train the pro democracy Iranians. Maybe they overthrow the dictatorship. I believe we should always try to avoid war, and first try diplomacy first. Try to inspire the people to rebel and get rid of their dictatorship of a government and become a ally of the US. War should not be the 1st option but it should be one.

By foreign policy in Constitution you mean that Congress has to vote to declare war? That i want enforced. But overall, i dont agree with much of RPs foreign policy. Bases out of Europe. Good idea. Korea? no. Stop foreign aid? good. Ignore the immediate threats in the Arab world? not a good idea. Thats the 90s thinking that helped cause 9/11. Its not 1900 where people had to send ships and planes to attack. Ignoring things overseas is never is a good idea.

We don't need a military presence in S. Korea. They are perfectly capable of defending themselves from N. Korea, who wouldn't attack anyways w/o support from China, which they wouldn't have.
Our own intelligence agency has stated that that 9/11 was blow-back from our actions overseas, and continuing it will only make things worse.

Your sentiment is the same as some guy ive come across - the war on Iran (or other countries) is really not about installing democracy but instead "to show how US is feared" - a chance to show off US's arsenal (at the expense of human lives). If we remove our bases in other countries, specially our allies, they would be attacked and destroyed. There's your expense on human lives. We keep countries safer. If we were to go to war with Iran, it would not to show off what we have, it would be to keep their neighbors safe and Israel, with Iran said itself it will blow Israel off the map! We need bases.
