I bought an arcade 360 to play the few decent exclusives that the 360 has (Gears of War pretty much sums it up!) as a HDD is useless to me because I ain't going online with it I refuse to pay an annual fee to play on line when PSN is free and I refuse to buy a wireless adaptor when PS3 has Wi-Fi already built in. The old fanboy arguments about the PS3 being more expensive still make me laugh because in the long run the PS3 was actually cheaper.

I have a PS3, and the graphics are awesome on my 40" Sony Bravia TV; but I'm still disappointed.
The online on the system is HORRIBLE! Don't believe anybody that says it's the same like the Xbox! I always lag, disconnect; and its so hard to find a game! Download a demo can take 30 minutes... or 8 hours!
And don't even say I have a bad internet connection! I have a 10 MEG connection. That's fast... and it's fast when I use the computer; so it's definitely not the connection... Get an Xbox 360!

The 360 has a 54% failure rate not 80%. And I will say this based on Halo 1 and 2 since I do not own a 360. No it is not. I know a few people who say Halo 2 is the best in the series and a few people who say the game sucks completely. Honestly if this was 2 years ago before Sony's great 2008 year and 2009 year I would say go for it. But all the good games are coming to the ps3 atm, I can't think of one exclusive besides ODST that is good for the 360 this year. I can name at least 3 for the ps3.

I would really suggest it. There are some top notch games coming out for the Xbox 360 in the next couple months. I have had my 360 for a year and a half and love it. The quality of games out now for the 360 are simply superb. Also, project Natal is starting off pretty strong so I would keep your eye on that promising feature.
I think people are best off waiting till christmas shopping time. you are bound to get some bundles out of it. You have waited years, what is few more months.

xbox 360 aint worth it every 3-5 months you get the red ring of death , microsoft only give you 3 years warranty and after it expires your 360 is worthless all the games you bought for the 360 will be usless
ps3 owns 360 cause first of all u dont pay for online gaming u get a free blue ray player and u can moan about the 360 having better games but almost all are the same except for a few like halo queers of war or like ps3 u get mgs4 (best game ever btw)
I like the PS3 because i feel like all the xbox games are racing or shooting like FPS, the PS3 has different types of more "Creative" games like Little Big Planet or Metal Gear Solid
For the most part I feel like the majority of worthwhile games are cross-platform.
And yes, MGS4 is one of the greatest games of all time, but 360 has some good platformers too. The Mass Effect franchise is a good RPG.
But, yeah, I can't think of any really 'creative' games that are 360 exclusive. Was Viva Pinata cross-platform? Does that even count? I never have played it.

I've just bought a PS3 slim and I'm loving it. After having a Wii since launch I have really gotten sick and tired of Nintendo's half baked approach to gaming. All they want to focus on is super casual. At least the PS3 feels like whoever is designing it actually cares about what they are doing. Go PS3.

I have an xbox 360 and ps3 and after looking at what both bring as consoles I think the PS3 is better. It has just as many good games. A good web browser, some nice extra features, a very good blu ray player and also it improves the quality of DVD'S.
both unit had problems with them when they came XBox360 RROD and PS3 YLOD. Yet YLOD where not even close to the amount of the RROD. Yet Sony actually made a effort of fixing the issue. Microsoft to this day have not really fixed the RROD issue. I would have bought a XBOX360 if it was not for the RROD. You can have good games but it it's not worth shit if you console is not reliable. I predict Sony will lead the market after Christmas 2009.
They already do when you think of that they sell, psp, ps3, ps2 and still the PsOne... Those were all big hit's and really I think the only reason people chose Xbox 360 over Ps3 is because Xbox 360 has more games. I say it matters what you use your console for. if your going to use it for the movies and solo gaming get the PS3 but if you do a lot of online gaming go for xbox it's less laggy.

Hey do you guys suspect the PS3 slim to have problems since it is a relatively new design? One of the reasons why I may get the 360 to replace my burned out Xbox 1 console.
Nintendo is smaller than sony and microsoft, but they've been in the games business far longer than both.
Relatively speaking, nintendo are probably actually bigger than microsoft or sony's gaming divisions.
And certainly, nintendo are raking in the profits from the DS and wii, which are outselling ps3/PSP/360 by about 5 to 1.
Either way, the wii doesn't need to compete with the 360 or PS3. They've already won in terms of profit and sales figures. Its 2nd place that's being fought for here.
Kind of makes you wonder. What are they spending that money on? Cua i dont see anything new except the wii motion plus which isn't really that new cuz the motion should've been that precise when i bought it the first time.
I have a Pro which I bought a few months ago, I generally use it for exclusives and games with extensive multiplayer as I already own a PS3 which I game primarily on. Remember the hidden costs with the 360 though, your paying yearly for online, $100 for wifi (which is unbelievable) and even more money for controller battery packs.
The 360 has better and more games and the graphics on the 360 such as the Antilising and frame-rate. Forza,2, Gears1,2, Dirt etc and more all have the best Antilising and the ps3 except fr maybe just 2 games has no Antilising. hence, its like playing a pc game on low specs....not my way of enjoyment. If the ps3 was a true power house with Antilising x4 and up and textures that looked better than the 360, then i would use my ps3 for games.
then media is bought out by MS... notice that PS3 slim Blu-ray comes out, amazing value, most powerful system for $299, then MS matches price with their XBROKE DVD player... somehow the upwards of 100% failure rate for XBROKE drops all the way down to 23% that very week?

But if I had to pick a console, it would be the PS3 for MGS4, Tekken 6, and GTAIV. Those are the only games currently out, that I can think of off the top of my head, that are worth getting a console for.
I have a PS3. To get the 360 to be equal to my $300 PS3 I would have to spend over $500. $300 for Elite, $100 for Wifi Adapter, $50 Xbox Live 12 Month, $35 HDMI Cable, $60 game. It is not worth it to me right now.

if ps3 had gears, DLC on 360, online like 360, NXE, and software then it would be perfect
if 360 had all the same features on ps3 (bluray, wifi, ect.), hardware, and design, the 360 would be perfect
therefore, 360 and ps3 complete eachother.

For the most part I feel like the majority of worthwhile games are cross-platform.
And yes, MGS4 is one of the greatest games of all time, but 360 has some good platformers too. The Mass Effect franchise is a good RPG.
But, yeah, I can't think of any really 'creative' games that are 360 exclusive. Was Viva Pinata cross-platform? Does that even count? I never have played it.

+And also ps3 WILL be getting a live stream tv service and also a movie rental service w/ 1080p movies!!! This was said in a Sony press confrence not so laong ago. But i must agree if you are willing to pay the membership you'll get a lot of socialazation features as you said and now even more with the 1vs100 game! But i have both consoles and i love em both but ive been sticking w/ the ps3 lately simply because of the features!

I've just bought a PS3 slim and I'm loving it. After having a Wii since launch I have really gotten sick and tired of Nintendo's half baked approach to gaming. All they want to focus on is super casual. At least the PS3 feels like whoever is designing it actually cares about what they are doing. Go PS3.

both unit had problems with them when they came XBox360 RROD and PS3 YLOD. Yet YLOD where not even close to the amount of the RROD. Yet Sony actually made a effort of fixing the issue. Microsoft to this day have not really fixed the RROD issue. I would have bought a XBOX360 if it was not for the RROD. You can have good games but it it's not worth shit if you console is not reliable. I predict Sony will lead the market after Christmas 2009.

Those were all big hit's and really I think the only reason people chose Xbox 360 over Ps3 is because Xbox 360 has more games. For the enormous volume of failure. No offense I want some engineering proof. Some official word. Even the Jasper systems are getting the RROD. The effort just does not seem there which I find funny since they did there first system so well.
PS3 sales were slow purely because of cost of the units. They were expensive units at the time. Xbox360 and PS3 are producing almost identical graphics what would you buy if you were a parent shopping for a game system at christmas. Lowest cost avail unit

i was a gamer and the ps3 offer roughly the same amount of good games. 360 did it a year ahead of ps3 so i got 360. even tho ps3 had a year xtra they still didnt when the online war. so with all the fun ive already reaped from my 360 its just not worth it to buy a ps3. a wii i would buy however but im playing poker with them because they need to drop to 200 dollars.

I say it matters what you use your console for. if your going to use it for the movies and solo gaming get the PS3 but if you do a lot of online gaming go for xbox it's less laggy.

uh that's not true. The 3rd prty games online is the same for ps3 and 360. like cod4 the game gets laggy b/c the host has a crap connection. now when talking about exclusives sony has better servers the xbox both of the systems exp lag the ps3 or the 360 isn't 100% lag free.

Nintendo is smaller than sony and microsoft, but they've been in the games business far longer than both.
Relatively speaking, nintendo are probably actually bigger than microsoft or sony's gaming divisions.
And certainly, nintendo are raking in the profits from the DS and wii, which are outselling ps3/PSP/360 by about 5 to 1.
Either way, the wii doesn't need to compete with the 360 or PS3. They've already won in terms of profit and sales figures. Its 2nd place that's being fought for here.

I have a Pro which I bought a few months ago, I generally use it for exclusives and games with extensive multiplayer as I already own a PS3 which I game primarily on. Remember the hidden costs with the 360 though, your paying yearly for online, $100 for wifi (which is unbelievable) and even more money for controller battery packs.

The 360 has better and more games and the graphics on the 360 such as the Antilising and frame-rate. Forza,2, Gears1,2, Dirt etc and more all have the best Antilising and the ps3 except fr maybe just 2 games has no Antilising. hence, its like playing a pc game on low specs....not my way of enjoyment. If the ps3 was a true power house with Antilising x4 and up and textures that looked better than the 360, then i would use my ps3 for games.

I have a PS3. To get the 360 to be equal to my $300 PS3 I would have to spend over $500. $300 for Elite, $100 for Wifi Adapter, $50 Xbox Live 12 Month, $35 HDMI Cable, $60 game. It is not worth it to me right now.
