  • Next time we'll bring along some cheese for the little red mouse to nibble on. He gets cranky when he isn't fed cheese every few hours, doesn't he? :)

    Gotta love a good inebriavlog.

  • As they say in Wisconsin, "A day without cheese is like a day without beer."

Sorry you had to sit though this thing twice, once in person and again on video!

  • This is like Sideways, without the chewing gum! An amusing little video with a hint of oakiness, and a sweet finish.

  • And with all that nasty spitting edited out.

  • Free wine also has no calories either...little known fact.

  • Not to mention all the exercise you get driving from winery to winery. It really is all about health...

  • Man I learned so much from watching this. Oh well. Gary is still my favorite boring virgin.

  • I'm sure he appreciates being your favorite. Thanks for watching!

  • So the burning question is did you guys spit or swallow?

  • Spitting is just rude ;^)

  • Good times!

Boy, do I know NOTHING about wine! When you come to Wisconsin, we'll do a beer tasting so I can redeem myself!

  • I am SOOOOO looking forward to that!

  • anakin1814 - man of the year 2008, 2009 and probably of 2010 too!

  • Let's just call him Man of the Decade and be done with it.

  • Here's your money Ralf!

  • The thing about wine is if you taste it , its ok. It when you start to drink the tasting is when it can get bad or at lest all the wines start tasting the same..lol :)

  • When you can no longer tell the difference between the whites and the reds, it's time to call it a day.

  • cheese goes well with wine. At least Gary is honest :)

  • As honest as the day is long. And it was odd that there was no cheese in any of the tasting rooms that day.

  • Would you give Gary a big ole hug and a kiss from me? No tongue unless you feel the need. ;-)

  • Go Red Zins!!! I'm all for cheese too, of course...hehehe

  • I'm ready for a glass of Zin and some cheese right now!

  • I'm doing that right now...a nice Ravenswood and some swiss and crackers!

  • Brilliant!

  • Hey, stranger! Going around with Gary keeps reminding me of your visit a year ago. Too bad we didn't get a chance to bring you up to wine country. Next time for sure.

  • LMFAO re: recommended "tip" percentages!!!

  • Those Wisconsin boys are a hoot when it comes to cow tipping.

  • Surprisingly, my favorite wine of the day very often turns out to be the last I get to taste ;‹)

  • Why did they kick you out?

  • Closing time. They were quite nice and polite, actually. She was just saying that the gate would be locked in another five or ten minutes.

  • I'd be lost in whine country. Seriously. I think Gary has more of a taste for whine than I do.

    Have fun y'all...

  • Getting lost is half the fun!

  • when i visited napa valley a few years back, we went to Francis Copolla's (spelling?) former vineyard/home. they had the desk from the 'Godfather' on display-pretty neat--good interview, Ken

  • I love visiting Francis' place. He also frequently displays his Tucker there, as well as various Oscars, etc.

  • you're lucky, brother. i love California! maybe, one of these days...(i wanted to move out there when i was 20 for music/Mom wanted me to finish school--she won)

  • He's in San Francisco and asking for "MORE fruity" ...

    I'm telling his parole officer.

    ;-P

  • Hmmm... and last time he was telling us a story about buying pink tights... There's a part of that prison story he's not telling us.

  • i thought he only had a day pass?

  • LOL! Gary, I was the same when he was offering me a "flight" of wine, I have no idea!:)

  • But now you're both so cultured in the art of wine tasting, right? LMAO

  • Yes it would be cheesy to whine about wineless cheese in boxes like our favorite Thunderbird whines he he

  • Thunderbird? That's the classy stuff. It's Mad Dog 20/20 FTW!

  • lol. Keg of wine mmmmm

  • Kegs just aren't big enough. I have the tanker truck come by once a week and fill an underground tank below my kitchen.

  • lmao, @ cow tipping! 20%

  • I love that he had a quick comeback when I asked him that. Obviously something he's thought about before.

  • i am thinking the cow-tipping is more prolific than I first thought! I also think, b4 he left he was briefed by the WI tourist bureau: do not mention cheese hurling or cow-tipping. do mention brettfavre FTLOG, and beer and you can re-enter WI!

  • hahaha clunkers!!!!!!!!!!!

omg, you can take the guy out of wisconsin!

  • He's doing just fine here, really. When he gets back home they're going to call him "California Boy."

  • ohdonchaknow, he's been every whichway out there, he'll nev'r be da same! :D

  • I'll be expecting my cut when this video gets featured and you make millions! ;)

  • You love it Bro

  • Well, with the way the partner dollars have been going, it may be just enough to cover the postage over to you.

  • and nicely done by the way! perhaps if you visit Gary you can do a review about cheese... oh, and tipping cows over!?!

  • Having never acquired a taste for wine, I find it curious how people can spend so much time talking about it. But what really confuses me is how people can spend over ten dollars for just one bottle of the stuff!!! Interesting video nonetheless!!!

  • Ten dollars is nothing. I've spent many more times that for a bottle, and found it worth every penny.

  • "A census taker once tried to test me. I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice Chianti".

  • That sounds delicious, actually. Thanks, Sir Tony.

  • I like a good aged Franzia.

  • Franzia... didn't he sing "Beauty School Dropout" in Grease?

  • There you go, talking about Grease again. Is that your favorite movie or something?

  • Everything goes better with cheese:-)

    Red here too!

  • "Everything goes better with cheese" - That's what my cardiologist used to say... ;^)

  • American beers taste like.. well what I imagine pee would taste like.

  • I'm a Guinness man myself. Beer, wine, whatever... I don't trust any beverage I can see through.

  • But you can see through wine......

A Guinness man, wow we dont have many of those left, its a very aquired taste, ur welcome to come to an irish pub and taste the Guinness where its made from :D

  • aw you're really missing out. I dont mean to sound like a pompous patriot or anything but the fact is when it comes to beverages the place really does matter. British lagers and beers are the best in the world, wines can only really be made in france and switzerland. sadly for many of the best theres just not enough of the good stuff to make it profitable to send over to the massive US market.

  • Oh boy, you guys had a wonderful time, didn't you? Ya know, you may never get kicked out of a better place really.

  • Don't tell anybody, but we're still there. Shhhh!

  • Fat cheese with dry wine...

  • That could serve as my mantra, actually.

  • Hello Ken and Gary! I like the fruity dessert wines too. There is a Huckleberry Blush up here that is fantastic. At least he does not prefer Arbor Mist.

  • As long s it's free, red, and not in a box, he'll drink it ;^)

  • "Free wine is the best wine" lol

    Quote of the day

  • I think that line might get Gary a job writing for Wine Spectator.

  • Uuummmmmm cheese......

  • Cheese is yummy!

  • hahaha i love how gary is just a huge nerd with his shirt there.

  • Well... he's a huge nerd with or without the shirt ;^)

(But that's why we love him, right?)

  • Beer? in wine country? not exactly "Sideways" is it? :-)

  • We're equal opportunity drinkers.

  • Gary is quite happy mellow...

  • I'm afraid we'll never be able to send him home now.

  • The sad thing is I think Gary knows more about wine than I do, LOL.

  • Well... he could remember what color each one was... I guess that's a start!

  • Very cool! I miss that area a lot! Did a wine tasting tour and went skydiving there.

  • Skydiving after wine tasting is NOT recommended.

  • " a lot of was free...." LOL!

  • America; land of the free. We like free!

  • *wipes Diet Dr. Pepper off of the screen*

I wish I weren't so tired from going into work at illegal hours. I know I have to have at least half a dozen bad wine and cheese puns fermenting in my brain.

  • Red for me too & free is good as well :)

  • When you come out, we'll find you some free red too.

  • Thanks Ken.

Funnily enough. I've just send an email to a fellow YTer saying that i may be able to get to California next year.

I should have enough AirMiles for a free flight by then :)

  • Port?? Anyone for port???

Bahaha.. you just go from home to home... FARGO!!! FTW!!

    *sigh* jealous moment #24

  • Any port in a storm! (But, a really good port right now sounds like a good idea!)

  • i love you guys!

  • We love you too, man!

  • free wine is not always a good wine...yes please no box wine that has always scared me. keg is ok for a football game. tailgating...

  • Free is helpful ;^)

  • "The grape and the more grape one" LOL

ROFL you two are great together.

  • We had a certain amount of fun.

  • Lol nice video ken, nice to see your still with the community

  • Oh, I'm with the community - But is the community with me? ;^)
