Use whatever font you want unless whatever it is you are creating a reflection of is already made, then you apply the tutorial to that, otherwise, choose the font you want to make the reflection of.

I have a text layer with effects added to to (gradient overlay, inner glow, stroke)

and when I do this tutorial I get to the reflected bit, and when I try to add the layer mask then use the gradient to fade the layer so the text blends to black like at 2:18. It doesnt work for me I just get a colored gradient over the whole text. =(

Anyone ever use this technique for something like landscape photograpy? As an example placing a mountain's reflection into that of a body of water (e.g. lake)? I would be interested in learning that form of reflection technique. I have yet to find a tutorial on something that specific.

Nice tut, well explained but with text and simple images it's really easy.

I'd like to see you do the same tut but with a more advanced (flat) image, for example a cutout car from a game or something similar to this.

(important thing is, it should be at an angle)

I tend to use warp in free transform for it, but im still looking for a good way of making it very realistic :(

@ksbnr1 yes its actually quite easy. hold ctrl, and click the icon of the layer of text you want the stroke on, then hold ctrl again and click c(copy). Then make a new layer (transparent) and hold ctrl and press v(paste). Then add teh stroke to that layer, which will no longer be text, but it will be treated as a regular layer. after you make the stroke on there, make another layer under than one, and merge down. continure as the tutorial says from there.

Hey, I was just wondering why this isnt working?
