.... This is either basic bot or beginner bot isn't it?
One thing about the bots, they are never able to beat humans of the same rank they are supposedly set to. As you start to get to the mid kyu ranks, you start to see the bots making some extremely stupid moves that a human player of the same rank would never even consider.
@TheNoel If you have been at about that level for 4 years, it is likely that studying some Joseki can get you over your sticking point. I remember I was stuck at about 18 kyu for about a year. After I learned some Joseki I jumped 4 ranks in the same day. It really dose make a huge difference.
I would recomend learning Joseki from someone face to face, most likely at a go club, but if that is not an option then Kogo's Joseki is about the best internet source.
b didn't have to capture the dead stone, just mark it dead at the end by clicking on the group during the scoring phase. Thad would save like 5 points or something.
Ya go programs are still really weak. They probably will always be too. There is probably more possible go games then there are atoms in this universe. That pretty much sums it up.
Hey does any 1 know of a website or sumthin where i cna play this online? cuz here at home not many ppl know how to play GO and sum just dont wanna play i really wanna play against sum 1 or a computer at least can sum 1 E-mail me a place i can play Go online TYSM

@42jemini Yeah, it's a pretty terribile bot. I've perhaps gotten slightly better at Go since making this 4 years ago.

@42jemini Brings back memories of my eccentric friend telling me that something "required extensive joseki knowledge." lol
I'll read into it. I've been playing Go lately, so I'd like to improve.

White could've easily won by A2, and not playing a5
YellowMagi 2 years ago
W is dead anyway. instead of A5, line goes A2 A5, D2 E2, E3 F3.
mkiozipangbuu 2 years ago
white then takes d3, and lives.
YellowMagi 2 years ago

PhantomT69 2 years ago
Not really, it saved him none. He just got as many points
YellowMagi 2 years ago
When you waste a stone to capture a group that is dead, you occupy your space though.
PhantomT69 2 years ago
Chinese rules give point for the number of stones you have, and the empty intersections between.
YellowMagi 2 years ago
I assume he's using Japanese rule, since KGS automatically sets to it, but can't tell since he didn't show the score.
PhantomT69 2 years ago
I assume he used chinese, because I asked him on kgs.
YellowMagi 2 years ago
oh, alright then.

flexo37 3 years ago
you stupid or something? black could've countered a2 by going a6, that would've created 2 eyes already.

Try playing against Mogo. It's substantially stronger than this program on 9x9.

Go programs are really weak. If you want a real challenge, try to beat chess programs.
