hey man!, let me ask to you this: im seriously thinking in buy the axiom 61!, but i discovered this video watch?v=3V5407d6HFA&feature=related about a problem with the keys, what do you think? do you have experienced that? thank you!
@Tritono9 Hey dude, Axiom 61 key is pretty shitty but it's because M-Audio takes lightyears to release updated drivers and there are weird compatibility issues with Windows 7 currently. What are you planning on using it for? Live situations or recording? Works well, IF you can get it set up, haha
@AbelineMusic hey man thank you. I want to use it in my home studio using it like Midi controller to play piano, samples, weird sounds, etc. I dont want to use it live with bands but I want good perfomance and stability. I will use WIn 7 x64 and Pro Tools 8. In my country I dont have much options about Midi controllers like Axiom, so Im really interested in this product. What do you think?
@Tritono9 For Windows 7 64 bit, the M-Audio 61 Key (& Pro model) as well as many other products from M-Audio are not compatible. They'll claim that it works seamlessly, however, the drivers they've released are not reliable and many complications will come up. I would check out other Midi Controllers, and read reviews on them to find something more Windows 7 Friendly.
AP sounds a bit...muffled, muted and kind of all mixed together, unclear. The timbre is OK,but it just doesn't sound as though you had a real piano in front of yourself. It sounds as if there was a piano playing in your neighbour's,covered with sheets, but it's not a matter of EQ. It just so far away from sounding like a prof recording when you record it. I don't know if it's a problem with AP or with every MIDI plugin. However this is only a problem when listening through speakers, not headphones
I have EastWest QL Pianos, and I have to say that it's absolutely incredible. The 3 mic positions all sound great, and you can get some fantastic sounds when you mix it with the reverb unit built in to the PLAY ASE. Maybe I should do a demo of it... :P
@sikwitit345 I guess these chords at the end was brazilian songwriter DJAVAN. Look for the song "Samurai". He's one of the most fantastic MPBs name (Brazilian Popular Music).
Ivory is the best. i've tested them all and getting ready to make a purchase. A Bosendorfer sound is pretty nice but Bosdendorfer's are darker like Tori Amos, Fiona Apple, Trent Rezner..or more muffled and dark in eq I should say. Synthology has the best Yamaha C7 which for Rock, Pop, Hip-Hop, Jazz and even most classical..can't be beat by anything. Even most the guys on youtube playing the best digital piano made are using it as a midi-controller for Synthology Ivory. I saw this in 2 videos.
Vai saber o que passou na cabeça do Djavan... É legal dar uma lida em livro de harmonia pra entender bem. Eu to lendo um do Almir Chediak bem legal. (Harmonia & Improvisação)
What settings did you use? Did you go off a certain preset? I love Akoustik Piano and I have been using a ton with my clients. But I especially like the sound you have going here.
My brother has a DX7. Must be the only keyboard we've got that weighs about as much as a piano.

The sound at 0:40 is amazing. I'm not sure what kind of piano it is though

Agora eu to com um Keystation da M-Audio bem bacana.
Mas então, na real o DX-7 tem aftertouch sim. Provavelmente foi o compressor que segurou o som. ;)

1Galaxy 2 Pianos
2Ivory Italian Grand
3don't know about East West Pianos but for sure that it's the right clasament
Bluethner maybe is good too
The best also largest one will be VIENNA IMPERIAL :)
sergio3fr 2 years ago
segio3fr I absolutely agree with you, I didnt try the East West either but I had Akoustik Piano and...
it was pretty nice, but somehow i wasnt pleased (I've played piano for several years)
then I tried Ivory and was amazed, but I did hate the velocity settings they drove me mad and I found...
Galaxy II and.... dadam I had a real piano.
I found a perfect velocity setting for my fatar vmk 188+ and now its such a pleasure to play.
sikwitit345 2 years ago
But could be that it depends on your keyboard which software to pick. For me definitely GALAXY II
Im love also the Vienna Imperial, so loveley :)

Me dá um help...
Abçs

Im using just the first piano that is in it.
Maybe the sound is a little different 'cause I bounced this with the plugin IzotopeOzone on the Master track.
It's a good master plugin. ;)
