This game looks interesting. I love SL/ASL but ASL is a huge time sink. There's an elegance in simplified tactical level wargaming that's hard to find. I might check this one out.
Sounds interesting. What's your wife's take on the game? Has she played it and does she like it? I like the idea of more streamlined and "Euro" wargames, but I'm not a fan of 2 player ones.
Have you thought about showing some of these games in action? I'd be interested to see a brief out take from a climactic point in the game with an explanation of what's going on.

In playtesting, he kept shaving down the rules and making things as visual as possible. He wanted to make a Squad Leader using the ideas from the last 20 years of game design. Given I can teach this in 15 minutes, I think he pulled it off.
Are there any modern era war games or games similar to this or even as basic as memoir 44 that are in the modern era?
