  • I love fishing there

  • Haha the photos remind me of trout swimming up stream..but we were jsut here a few weeks ago! So fun!

  • i just love this movie every time that i see it we camp there every year......

  • @christinafoster123 thanks we have been going up there every 4th for like 25 years

  • What part of kern river is that ..cuz I'm goin there tomorrow

  • Too Find this place go to my Kern river water slide video the location is in Google maps in my comment just go to the link.

  • I remember alot of the stoners at my high school would go camping their for the long Labor day weekends, I guess the tradition still carry's on after all these years. Looks like a fun place don't get me wrong.

  • I grew up in Bakersfield and started camping by this water slide about 1965.I spent a lot of weekends during my high school years at this campground, if you can call it a campground. There never were any bathrooms and the last part of the road was always washed out. I remember spending nights around a big campfire partying with an assortment of hippies, loggers from Johnsondale, bikers and kids from SoCal. Also skinny dipping was the thing at the slide back then, how about these days?

  • In 1978 when I was working for the Forrest srevice out of California hot springs we use to go to the slides alot. Johnsondale still had the sawmill going we went there on the fouth that year there was a band playing on the flat rocks there. Alot of people to so many you could hardly move it seemed. the tubbs are a good place to go to they are on the other side of the road when you turn to go to the slides. Wish we had the technology then as now had alot of fun there

  • @gopork49 i almost died at the tubs when i was about 7 .. my dad the man the has the greatest form in the video with the grey hare saved me.. memmories

  • they look like penguins!!! lol

  • Ok, in order to get to the rockslides you head up the kern river toward trails of 100 giants...once you come to the fork in the road you turn right (away from trails of 100 giants and the hot springs)

Drive about 9 miles and when you get to a bunch of signs that say No parking on the right...park in THAT dirt lot and cross the street and walk up the dirt road for about a mile.

If you have a GPS type in the marker and it should take you right there.

    22S83.

    Have fun!

  • I've been to the upper kern many times,I've never seen this! Awesome video !!!!

  • ouch

  • you guys are awesome great vid

  • This is way too awsome!!!! Wish I lived closer..

  • sickk!!! ive actually never even seen this part of kern but looks awesome!

  • can anyone tell me exactly how to get here. I heard its near peppermint creek?

  • its kern county look up the video called "kern slide rough " some better footage

  • @jdmkseries don't go in the dead of winter, but after a good one, go to johnsondale and pick up some of the best beef jerky ever made. then keep going past there and head northeast to the campsites campsite 3 or 4 I believe. it was a bit of a hike where ever you camped so you just have to follow down creek and find em.

  • woah dude no way that was all me the chief i took down all that shit by myself go ahead touch my gun yeah

  • i was there i saw no one die i was like whatever and jumped in that river you got have some balls to jump like me

  • well let me tell you mr. meatwad.....i was about to die at the river!! but hell i will so do it again! lmfao!!!

  • I live in Kern county & every summer a bunch of out of town idiots die in the Kern river.doing this.mainly People from Southern California Do NOT GO IN THE RIVER ITS DANGEROUS

  • yeah am going next wk there signs that people died on the roads

  • Parts of the river are deadly, other parts are like a swimming pool.

I've never done this slide, looks hella fun, but not sure I want to go that far.

  • people arent dying on the slides at all, or in the upper kern in any alarming numbers, it's the lower kern (below the lake) that is the killer. It is because of the steep elevation drop it has a dangerous suction to it that makes it deadly. The slides are not dangerous at all.

  • @ronny2471 unless you're jumping on them like these guys!

  • Okay, I know EVERYONE has alsready asked where this is.. But Im asking one more time, cause Im heading up next week... Can someone put up some tangible directions to this spot?? If so I will get you super duper high... Promise

  • Its below Lower Peppermint on 22S82. I think its the turnoff of 21S63. About a mile hike. Bring a wagon.

  • props you guys are going for it ,couple almost went too far ,miss that place, great video

  • We used to go to the Slides 25 Years ago. One year we had a live band and about 500 people.

Thats when you could drive right in. Now its a short hike. Looks like it has not changed much at all. And I have some scars from going down head first in that pond. Ouch

  • where on the kern is this located? It's obviously on the upper kern, but is that before the johnsondale bridge or further up?

  • what camp site exactly is this i usually go to 5? but these slides look kool.

  • i have been there before..it is soooo funn!!sometimes these people go on the slides with icechesta and boogie boards down there!it is a very popular place...great for kids

  • lool i have my own river? xD

  • i been there

  • Nice place.

  • what campground is that????

  • what part of the river is this?

  • two questions.

    one, whts the song?

    and second,

in what part of the kern is that.

cus i go to upper kern. i wanna kno where that is

  • the song is let the bodies hit the floor by the bands name that i cant think off right now

  • i got it already. its drowning pool-let the bodies hit the floor

  • DUDE! I went here, well actually it was in 2005. But I wasn't driving and totally can't remember the exact directions...don't suppose you remember?

  • Does anyone know the nearest campsite with showers and flushable restrooms nearest to these JUMPING area? They look awsome...

  • ?' which camp ground is that ? i know its @ the kern river but i never seen it..

  • those rocks must be padded with alcohol

  • dude thats aweseom ive been there but didnt see that there

  • I used to camp at an area near Bodfish which I probably could never find again. It was close to a hotspring which was kind of a local secret back then. It`s been almost 20 years since I`ve been there.

  • would any1 be able to tell me where in kern these are located?

  • LOL..Looked like a bunch of penguins shooting by...except for some of the fat guys -- thought they were going shoot on by and straight to Arizona

  • Continue straight, comes to dead end

Left on Sierra toward Johnson Dale/Kern River

    Continue straight, go over bridge

    Continue up windey roads

Est. 40 mins Do Not Go To Hot Springs -- road forks

Quick right opposite Hot Springs sign

We usually stay @ campsite 3(Pay attention, it goes by fast) If 3 is filled up we will most likely be at campsite 2 Both are on the right

  • is the slide past camp site 3?

  • @GTVideo what hot springs are you talking about? say you took 178 past borel road and black gulch where from there?

  • 15 north-138 west Palmdale-Follow 138 signs, turns into 47th street-Turns back into 138-(Stay until sign- 14 north, Bishop/Reno)-Turn right, you will see an Auto Zone-Stay on 14 north to 178 west/Isabella-Turn left-Continue until 155 Wilford Heights,
