Nazism used welfare state policies to gain the support of poor classes. German economy under nazis was capitalist, with a bigger state intervention to re-build the armed forces. So all this trend "socialism = nazism" is just bullshit. There is nothing similar between them besides the name of the nazi party and some propaganda posters

Until war broke out there were not as opposed as we are told to think. The Soviet Union was a one party state as was the National Socialist government of Germany...that is facism in both instances. The only real difference was the Soviets opposed certain classes whereas the Nazi's opposed certain races...otherwise they were the same.

Oh, and the Soviets killed at least double the amount of people that the Nazi's did. Stalin and Mao were far more evil than Hitler.

@Hereticalable 100% agree with you, but Soviets killed millons just to avoid political confrontations by the other side Hitler killed only for racial reasons. Stalin made his crimes just only to stay in power and Hitler only for racial delirium.

@kriegsmarine1942 - quite correct. What amazes me is how widely Hitler is reviled (quite rightly) but the biggest mass murderers like Mao and Stalin are almost cool in today's pop culture. One only needs to look at Che plastered on every other T-shirt to see how the communist propaganda machine managed to achieve a long lasting mass delusion where the Nazi's failed.

@Hereticalable Yes, what you are talking remember me the starting of the Soviet Story, where it say that people today joke with communism simbols but no with nazi simbols, just because after all communism was fraternal peace and social justice. My conclution: Stalin, Hitler or Mao, all were terrible mass murders, and we must dont forget the pain they made.

@Hereticalable Just only because Hitler create Nazism and Nazism made the crimes, communists think that communism did not made the crimes, that it were made for different currents of communism, either Stalinism, Guevarism, etc and not truly by the communism ideology.

@Hereticalable Communists say that they opposed to Fascism, but it easy to know that Communism and Fascism are the same ideology with with different discourses. The way they response with opponents, the way the killed inocent people, the way they established a totalitarian state, all of that makes both ideology the same. Today we remember Hitler victims with all justice, but we also need to remember all the communism victims in Russia, South America, Asia, Africa and around all the world.

@Hereticalable Hi heres an interesting trivia ...nazis allowed their citizens to travel abroad without any inhibition barring a select few black listed citizens ofcourse but the communists didnot allow their own citizen to travel abroad because they feared that the citizens would get dissatisfied with the communist system!!!!!

@dazzler111 well,i'm a persian & we had a semi-fascist government from 1921-1941.not only did they keep citizens in their country,but also they kept people from travelling to other cities.plus,they did not allow anyone to have RADIOs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!i'm pretty sure Ussr didn't do that.our people couldn't use the word "shah" & had to say "his highness "even in their homes otherwise they were captured,tortured to the full extent of brutality and finally murdered.fascism is horrible,may it be destroyd
