lol i live right next to julian it nothing great, and did u know when it not apple season they use washington apples lol, they only make about 700 pies from actual julian apples...
@Ramstein360 I don't think so - as a local I can tell you that the only pies I buy, unless forced to do other wise, are from the Julian Pie Co - but people wait in line for hours during apple season for Moms - just because they see the line - AND the Pie co has better atmosphere with a backyard eating area and the best cinnamon ice cream money can buy. Oh, and stop at the Fajita Grill or Soups and Such for lunch - you will not be disappointed.
Thanks. I'll try that route next time. I usually take the coast, but I think driving thru the mountains must be great too. I'm going up for pie for the Blues Fest.
I've been through Julian many times, on the way to and from Arizona. It's my favorite route. But the time we went just for lunch we took the 134-210 E, 71 S to 91 E, to 15 S to Rte 79. We took 78 back. I just love that drive.
makes an old San Diegan sentimental! nice to see..

You are so right. But I like the Julian apples and have tried a few other shops too. Just to be fair and spread the wealth. Thanks for your comment.

I love Julian. We drove there for lunch and pie one Sunday, from North Hollywood.
