  • good on ya nick

  • and why should all schools have a anti homophobic policy..... not like parents care, bet 95-99% of british parents wouldnt like it if the schools started encouraging their kids to become gay. its not right and never will be right.

  • Shut up Nick Clegg??? who the hell are you again??? 85% of British people wouldnt know who you are if you werent 6inch deep up Camerons ass. If people want to be homophobic they can. Being gay is wrong we were not put on this earth to go with same sex. if we were we'd be able to have children with other men. penis is for giving, vagina is for taking. not so that strange people can rub cocks and stab each other from behind. Im right so no1 argue SIMPLE biology yous will say anything for a vote!!

  • @jonnykemp11285 Old couples cannot have children, infertile people cannot have children..no moral objections against them? A lot of heterosexual couples engage in anal sex. An anti homophobic policy is not about encouraging people to be gay its about stopping homosexuals from being bullied because of a sexual orientation they did not choose. I would class crime and bigotry as being `wrong`, homosexuals I have no problem with.

  • @jonnykemp11285 you are a closed minded douche bag, i hope you like hell because thats where your going much love x

  • @naththeace shut up nathan you fag loving, gender bending nutter

  • @jonnykemp11285 Im straight, but im all about free love! You should prolly become a homosexual because from what im gathering from your personality no poon's gonna come near you buddy! much love xxxxx

  • @naththeace poon?? think you'v been watchin 2 much Ali G mate. i dont think you'd get many women if they realise you refer to them as 'poon' more like. i respect women not gays, you seem to be confused!

  • @jonnykemp11285 You're a dick mate. What's your problem with gays?? I'm fine with them.. Just normal people. Ever talked to one? Properly?

  • Another reason to love the Lib Dems.

  • @ProudToBeNerdy

Hmmm but if the cons dropped gay rights/marriage/adoption/etc would they protest? I've lost alot of faith with the Dems, alot. they've sold their values for power.

  • Hello, Mr Clegg who are you coalition with? David Cameron! Now Clegg - they brought in SECTION 28 and Cameron voted for it, your spouse party are members of the ECR, Huhne leave the Lib Dems NOW, JOIN Labour. Your not leading the way, who is Tim Farron. The Lib Dem allies have called homosexuality dirty.

  • Hello, Mr Clegg who are you coalition with? David Cameron! Now Clegg - they brought in SECTION 28 and Cameron voted for it, your spouse party are members of the ECR, Huhne leave the Lib Dems NOW, JOIN Labour.

  • In fact the Liberal Democrats now support discrimination against gay people, just as the Conservative Party has done historically. I am sure gay people in this country have not forgotten Mrs Thatcher's Clause 28.

If you support the coalition, you support the Conservative Party. If you support the Conservatives, you support homophobia.

  • @Withnail1969 isnt one of the Con Minister homosexual?

  • @Soliloquy657 yes, also Michael Portillo confessed to bisexual experiences when young. This doesn't change the Conservative Party's overall stance on the issue.

  • SO WHY DID YOU FUCKING LIB DEM CUNTS BULLY WEE CHARLIE KENNEDY OUT OF HIS JOB THE MINUTE THERE WAS SNIFF OFF A SCANDAL WITH HIS DRINK PROBLEM!!!!!!??????????? FUCKING HYPOCRITES!!!

  • Impressive. I wonder if the anti-gay bullying -- often directed at people who may not be gay -- is getting better or worse over the decades? Are kids today less racist, sexist, elitist, homophobic, xenophobivc, anti-Semitic!

  • @Browned79 Still a long way to go, but mostly yes. Especially in regards to sexism, that has rapidly decreased in the UK over the years. The difference between income needs to be changed but the attitudes have got a lot better.

  • Another form of bullying I think is serious and needs tackling is bullying against those who suffer from mental illness and other disability - I have seen this a lot! :(

  • I got badly bullied in school because a so-called friend of mine revealed to the class that I was bisexual. This spread like wild fire, and the next day and for the next 4 years I had to put up with abuse (mostly mental abuse), but sometimes physical (being spat at or punched) and called a 'BIO' and a dity lesbian. This happened even in front of teachers on a few occassions and they did nothing.

  • Homophobic bullying is awful as all forms of bullying are. It is right that it is being addressed.

But there is another group of people routinley demonised in British society and no one seems to care. The group I refer to is welfare claimants. This is psychological and widespread and unlike other minority groups, there is no safeguard to protect these people. If they dare complain, they are branded as 'whineing dole scroungers' etc. This also has a profound impact on the victims confidence.

  • Bullying is nasty, you're right Cleggy. But what do you think about firemen getting sacked for refusing to go on 'gay pride' marches? Is that not rather nasty bullying? No wonder they don't get much sympathy and are becoming more hated. Or maybe I've got it wrong?

  • Er, yes, you have got it wrong. They were sacked because they refused to hand out fire safety leaflets at a gay pride event, which they refused to do on religious grounds. If you're not willing to do your job then you should expect to be sacked.

  • It's important to remember that, unlike other forms of bullying, homophobic bullying has both direct and indirect targets.

When kids are being bullied by homophobic attacks, its not just the recipient who is affected. These sorts of attack spread insecurity and a reluctance for gay to people to admit or come out.

  • That's not true at all

  • i mean by calling them gay that makes the bully feel better about there sexuality, i also have no problem with gay people...

  • Though I think you have a problem with using your brain

  • What about transphobic bullying?

  • Well really any type of bullying is awful, but one must remember that there are far fewer, and probably in schools almost no cases of transphobic bullying. Homophobia is a much wider problem, because there are more people to become victims of such a crime.

  • Homophobic bullying in schools or any other premises has no place in todays society and it is good to hear high profile MPs speaking out against these bullies.

  • My cousin is gay and i have great respct for him he went to oxford and got straight As. I am a college student myself and i hate it when i hear homophobic or racist or ANY kind of bullying at all.

We just elected on of my friends as the college president and hes mixed race half white and half black and some of the things ive heard about him are terrible. The worst part of it is he is an outstanding person and a top notch guy.

  • It's a Very Big Issue, The suicide rate amongst LGBT teens is 3 times higher than the teen suicide rate.

  • @dackjaniels555 mainly because the kids involved are more insecure and probably dont know weather there coming or going. You'll never stop kids being cruel so i wouldnt even buy into a massive waste of money like these schemes or even policys.
