the bass line is practically all new except for second and third bass and they handle. for the snare line the center is the only returning member while its both the outside snares first time on snare.
I can't believe the crap attitude displayed in some of these comments. Kobballr369 is right these guys have a good line up of staff and this video was about 3 years ago. there were a lot of new people in this line both the kids on quads are first timers one coming from mallets and the other is coming straight from middle school and have improved drastically,
dear god c'mon whoever that instuctor is needs to push these kids shew that craps easy dang im a sophmore in frikin high school and omg i wish we were playin that stuff shew im 3rd snare out of 3 and we are really drmming the only hard drumming in that i saw was the basses with 6 tuplet runs that was sweet but coming 16th not diddles down the tenors that middle school crap c'mon now i have nothing else to say T.T
@kobballr369 alright we do too and thats what every line should go for its just if these kids want to make big as in dci etc. they wont be prepared just as long as they get drummin in indoor season
From this very program, there have been several people that have been or are involved in DCI/WGI. One as center snare at RCC fall, another marched PC at age 16, another just finished up Blue Devils, and others are still in the line getting world class instruction. I think the program works just fine.
@kobballr369 gotta agree, my school, 4 bass, 3 snare, 2 tenor, no cymbal line. and we are the best drumline, like im not even over exagerating. we have always had indoor line, or north (60 people marching) always takes last, our south (143) just did there 1st year of ID, and our west (187) never has done ID. :D
@CardFreak123456 I'm sorry, i know this is a year old comment, but are you aware that you're poor display of the english language only makes you sound and look so much dumber than you may or may not be...
JESUS FUCK! You retarded ass high school kids! It's not a fuckin' cadence...it's field show. There's no stick tricks required. It's about technique and sound quality and cleanliness, NOT fuckin' throwing a stick in the air and making the crowd jump up and clap like retards!
@AirRaider56 ahhahaha! ya know i actually was not going to say anything until I kept reading your ignorant stupid posts and I had to butt in and back up my fellow corps style (real marching band) mates here. What these kids are doing here will actually get them somewhere later down the road... this is clean, solid, work... just like the big boys of DCI or WGI do. The INSTRUCTOR is there to keep time within the line and to make sure they have a clean uniform sound...
@mert16 they are using the stands because jee i dunno that is what anyone who knows anything about drumlines do when they rehearse. Why waste the energy of using a carrier when they are obviously not working on marching.. and your last comment on stick flips...lmfao which I found to be hilarious is so pointless and ill informed that I need not say anything about it. Nice work here fellas. That is legit shit.. Go Corps style bands!!!
1. my high school drumline doesnt need a instructer also called conductor and we have perfect sound together
2. we are a real marching band, we actually do parades, longer than your 11/2 mile parades.
and
3. notice how you said down the road.. we are down that road in my high school.. thats why im done arguing with you losers who know nothing about drum comptetion.
@AirRaider56 Complete dumbass. Dude, he is a percussion instructor, not a director. Shut up and do some research before you make yourself look dumber than you already have, although it may be too late.

You guys need holders? its called get a carrier and put it on you and play.. shouldn't really be called a drumline since 1. your not moving with the drums 2. you guys cant do anything aka your not doing stick flips or anything and 3. you guys SUCK!
Ay Buddy! where the fuck did you march that makes you right. NONE of what you say makes sense. There needs to be stick flips for this to be good??? you're a fuckin' IDIOT!!!!!!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
1. our high school band doesnt need a conductor helping us.. he just watches us and lets us do everything by ourself 2. you prolly dont even know what a good stick flip is.. if you did you would know that in drumline battles it counts a lot. and 3. Last time i remember i can do stick flips, i can actually hold a drum instead of having it on a stand, and i can do everything with it on the carrier which is a hell of a lot more difficult then on your little stay still stand.
Oh......my....fuckin'......GOD!!!!!! I've met some idiots on youtube but you DEFINITELY top the list of shitheads on this site. 1. I can tell you ONLY have marched pussy ass high school shit which is the LOWEST of the low. 2. Stick tricks??? really?? stick fuckin' tricks??? c'mon....That's the LEAST important thing. How about sound quality approach and technique and level of difficulty of what's demanded. and 3. if you notice right next to each stand, there's a carrier. The stands are SOLELY
The stands are SOLELY for warming up and than they actually put them on and move.
Drum fuckin' battles?? really? what the fuck drumline do you watch? Atlanta A&T in drumline the movie! How about you do some fuckin' research in REAL drumline like DCI or WGI and tell me that those WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP FINALIST drumlines suck. You are the biggest fuckin' idiot on youtube. Go sit on a fuckin' train track you ignorant ass piece of rat ass shit!
Do some research, buddy. Most legit lines have the same setup that's seen in this video when warming up for a show, especially while only running their music. Most lines are also way too respectful of one another, and not arrogant enough to need to "battle" one another. Why don't you just go sit in a corner and watch your little "Drumline: The Movie" I'll be out marching some Drum Corps.
They've got carriers, sherlock. But they don't need to wear them ever second of every day. Actually watch some drum corps lines warm up, like Santa Clara Vanguard, or the Bluecoats, or Phantom Regiment, and you'll see the exact same thing. They'll have stands, they'll have conductors. They'll have carriers too, but they won't be marching around or doing any drum battle kid stuff. They'll be in a serious music rehearsal, not caring how many stick flips they have in their show.
honestly i think they might be a little inconvenient for this year's line. quite a bit of hunching over. you physically can't achieve certain heights if your forearm is angled too far downward. I was checking these guys out in the lot and that was just one thing that was really standing out, it looked extremely uncomfortable. But ultimately it's up to the instructor: uniform drum heights or slightly varied drum heights and comfortable performers. Just my take.
BUT in this particular video it doesn't look quite as bad. However, at the Ramona lot this year, they either got taller or the drums got lower, nevertheless the center looked like the hunchback from notre dame. hahah :p they still play pretty well though! most high school lines are, how do i put it, not so great at all??? hahah bass line handles man.
well that whole posture was uniformed and all forearms are parallel to the ground which is how they acquired all even stick heights and had natural angles from forearm for wrist.
Awesome. How do you get your bassline so good? Mine never practice and suck it up bigtime. Does it maybe have to do with the fact that we don't have bass stands?
This is great you guys, Like everyone else, the tenor line is probably the noobest compared to the basses, because the skill is definitely mixed. Don't get me wrong. You sound great.
