  • You can tell he either has 8's or 9's . Big strings are better. 10's 11's.

  • wow, amazing is such a small word for this shit

  • how and how well would this work with a fender 410 deville?

  • How would this sound with a fuzz/ distortion pedal in front of it? I've been looking all over to hear this open sounding fuzz with surf reverb in front of it. Would a pedal like overload the tank?

  • Hoping to pick up one of these..this guitarist is quite a killer !

  • how much does this beauty cost:)?

  • What is this song?)

  • what was that songs name

  • i have this, got it from a friend but the dwell effect isnt hardly lasting at all. any suggestions?

  • maybe replace it tubes?

  • @SemurProductions

Maybe your spring box is locked down? Look in back of the unit, there is bar that should be pushed to the side and pulled back toward you to release the springs. You only need to use that lock when you are traveling with the unit.

  • I got a Fender twin reverb, and his reverb sounds nothing like this,... : (

  • are you saying you are disappointed in this, or the twin?

  • None. Twin sound is great and this one is great. Having them both is problem. =)

  • The 63 reverb is more of an accessory for the 59 bassman.

  • @bilbomarks...Flatwounds would make it better, thats what the old vintage jaguars and jazzmasters would have, why do you think Dick Dale uses THICK GUAGED strings??.

  • This is a good demo but he should put flatwounds on his Jazzmaster. I think those are rounds but flatwounds would make it sound even better for this style.

  • Nope. Surf is all about treble, bridge pickup and reverb. Flat wounds would make the sound fatter. That's a no no.

  • @bilbomarks surf is all about surfing man...

  • O shit It is better than sex!

  • @Kordeolog

Or people didn' t taught me how to play the guitar or they didn't taught you to have sex.. :)

  • would you need an fx loop for distorted tones considering the tank is going through the front of the amp?

  • Whatever, the distortion should come before the reverb, e. g. distortion pedal into the reverb unit and then into the amp or distorted tone from amp with reverb in fx loop. I find that putting distortion after the reverb ends up gaining up and distorting the twang and rattle from the spring too, which ends up sounding a little like the feedback/noise intro to Slayer's Raining Blood.

  • genial el reverb buen video

  • guys its not really a basey amp... really too bright for my Mosrite... love the tank, though... i have an original echo head w/ one tube and a tin can gotta spin the motor!

  • Is there a diffrence between reverb tank, and reverb that is allready placed in Combo amp??

  • depends what sortof combo. if it has a reverb tank in it then no difference its just the circuit that drives the reverb thats different, if its a digital/effect based reverb then the difference is huge because its a piece of shit in comparison.

  • the ultimate question: My bassman doesnt have a effects loop, so if i crank overdrive out of it, will reverb sound like crap running ino it?

  • if you have a blackface or silverface bassman you can jumper the channels

  • this any good with a bass?

  • reverb with bass?

  • yes.

  • interesting, never really hear those together, it might work with bass, but i would stick with a reverb from a rack unit compatible with bass

  • im surprised you havent really heard those together...its quite a common combination

  • what bands use bass and reverb? I hear studio reverb effects but not like bass through a reverb effects unit

  • mmm, cant rly thnk, mostly vintage bands (like alot of jazz stuff etc) altho ive heard alot of modern metal bands use it...i couldnt rly pin-point any for you..but like u sed most of it is PROBLE studio but im not a total wiz-kid so i aint to sure lol

  • i think most of it comes from the natural room acoustics, like in the studio when the record with mics, and then the sound guys can add a lot of effects and stuff like that to get the final product which you hear on the record.

  • a bass player putting reverb in his signal? i've never heard of that, that would just sound weird.

  • PaulNiehausIV: i say and quote...

'im surprised you havent really heard those together...its quite a common combination '

  • Yes, I saw that the first time. And I'm still saying, I've never heard of that combination. Perhaps refer to us a few famous bassists who play with reverb?

  • My bad; not including bassist who use studio reverb the only one i can think of is mietek jurecki. when he does play bass he uses some kind of reverb pedal

  • might sound like TOOL or Jaco Pastorious

  • it reminds me of that doors song 'end of the night' which obviously isn't surf music but just thought i'd say :/

  • Same setup I have except you'd have to substitute the guitar for a 52 Telecaster.

It's a sweet setup in many ways.

  • are you happy with the bassman amp? is yours a reissue?

  • I've owned many amps and I've built many amps as well, including another 59 Bassman using vintage components wherever possible. The only amp I still have is my 59 Bassman amp. It's hand built and hand wired. The 4 x 10" alnico Weber speakers are also hand built. It was bench tested at 50 watts minimum instead the 40-45 that Fender made, using 1950's Hammond transformers. Everyone that has heard it or played through it is amazed and wants to buy it from me. It's not for sale.

  • This is really one of the greatest effect devices there is... I love that surf vibe it has!
