  • i was purely impressed with this simple myth

  • need toilet brb

  • close ur eyes......yea

  • I say: ''Katana"|

  • wait.. so was that 2 books stuck together?

  • @victor1994 UR NOT THAT SMART R U?

  • @victor1994 you could say that but no glue tape just friction between the pages

  • @victor1994 LOL dude its friction

  • @dieofDiRt They didn't have enough time to show it in the show.

  • "LUUNGE!!!!, COME ON THEY'RE BEATING US YOU PANSIES!!!!!!!"

-LMAO, that was a very funny line by Adam

  • 1:01 listen to that laugh :P

  • actually the friction isnt the only thing, the pages are made to sit just like it is, so you are basicly doubling the thickness for the spine, and that creates pressure pushing back

  • this a little game i like to call: breaking your theet

  • a partialy busted my ass is confirmed who is going to get a tank

  • Joe Driscoll!?! Weird

  • This is a little game I like to call: Break your teeth!

  • After experiencing that ad woman, I know what it would be like to drown in syrup.

  • Who pushed Tori?

  • @NaiveXIIIAixian that was Scottie

  • @NaiveXIIIAixian Ithink her name is Scottie.

  • how are the phone books attached

  • @DXRunescape overlapping pages, or friction.

  • I Swear keri and tory are going out because on the show its like he's always checking her out

  • my favorite myth

  • kari needs to harden up

  • me and mum did it with dad's porn magazines, needless to say he wasn't amused!!!

  • i dont get what the experiment was. Can someone explain it?

  • @MichaelXboxEvolved They interleaved the pages of two phone books together. The friction of all the pages makes it very difficult to pull the two phone books apart. They wanted to test how much force is required to pull the two phone books apart.

  • ahhhh thanks.

  • @MichaelXboxEvolved Pull phone book

  • i tried this with my friend with some school books we couldnt separate them til he let go then pulled again

  • @themusic928 but the myth is a phonebook right

  • @FF4l1e yes, but some spanish text books are all we had

  • Rofl, We tried to pull them apart in science class -_-

  • @s1lopez69

We did this at a science comp, for fun before the awards ceremony.. our "Coach" told everyone to help me and 4 other girls pull tug-a-war against home schooled people there... So everyone else came down. And we pulled... And the books came apart, and I fell on my butt... xD

  • @debrouillard123456 no it has to do with contact force

  • The contact force is merely a expression of the mass with the direction taken by the object.

  • @debrouillard123456 yes in the case of a block slideing down a hill but in this case you have thousands of pages squeezing them and so adding more contact force

  • precisely-- friction is surface vs surface, not mass and weight. The only reason heavier things are harder to drag is because you have a downward force that is fighting against your horizontal force, not friction. Think of it like little bumps-- if you apply more pressure, you aren't creating more bumps on the surface, but you're simply changing the overall force from sideways to downward.

  • @Aaron2071 no the reason heavy things are harder to drag is their greater mass as in that case friction is proportional to mass

  • The friction isn't increased, the downward pull is-- they aren't quite the same. :D I can get the formulas tomorrow if you want.

  • @Aaron2071 I know the formula F=Kmg sinx where K is the coefficent of friction g ist gravitational pull and K is the coefficent of friction and x is the angle of the surfance you are pushing it on

  • Oh I see, so friction is essentially the force of matter on matter, as opposed to how I previously thought-- friction being a form of matter itself. I see what you're saying. :D Thanks for being patient with me Lol I can be a slow learner :P

  • @Aaron2071 no problem just think of it as contact force between 2 objects and a constant dependent on what the objects are multiplied together

  • Actually the force of friction is derived both from the mass and the coefficient of friction, which is based on the surface material of the objects in question.

  • Yeah... you're not wrong...

  • they dont do more videos :(?

  • kari is hot i want her for all for me muahahahhahahahahahahahaha

  • @migduh

    shes a milf now.

  • @migduh giggity giggity

  • You know technically I disagree with the fact that they busted the myth it's impossible to rip two phone books interwoven together apart.

Sure with a couple of tanks you can do it, but that's under EXTREME measures. By any means available in a common day environment, you're not ripping those phone books apart.

  • The myth was it was impossible under any cercumstances, so if they can be unwoven with tanks than it is possible and the myth is busted.

  • did she say broke a nail or fucking hell?;-P

  • broke a nail

  • wheres there main account

  • lol haha

i remember doing this with my english novel when i was 10

you should of seen the teacher trying to pul the books apart

    so funny

  • yeah i did it in grade 11

  • Maybe you should have tried actually READING books instead of playing with them, and then you'd know that it's "should HAVE" or the contraction "should've" not "should OF".

  • haha dude i was fucking ten

    chill the fuck down asshole

  • You mean you're older than that and still don't know better? Wow.

  • You've already bothered arguing, so yeah, nice try, kid.

You're just upset that you're wrong and were made to look foolish. How in the world is educating people abusing them?

  • LOL. Your intellect knows no bounds.

  • You're is the contraction of "you are."

  • only you can bo so stupid to read a phone book

  • thats amazing.

  • I remember this myth, it was a lot of fun

  • the correct way is to put the outer ends of the book a bit close to eachother.Than kick one of the books in a upwards direction

  • This is a little game I like to call break your teeth.

  • i remember watching this on tv about a month ago...it didn't have the part at 1:39.... or 1:29.. or is it just me?

  • no that i think of it, they didn't show any of this... its like uncut!...oh...now i get it....

  • its uncut

  • lol 1:39 no wonder that otehr girl isnt on teh show now

  • hahahaha yeah...poor guy..

  • No, I've seen her around. More like a behind-the-scenes person.

  • @demonhunter13m you mean scotty? she has other things to do

  • @demonhunter13m dude you know the other chick is actually a host of a show on Spike now? i forgot which one but its one of the car shows they show on Saturdays

  • why its called uncut? damn..

  • they were wanting to know if they could pull them apart.

  • I wonder if this would work if phone books used the same kind of glossy smooth pages that magazines use.

  • Hmmm... Uncut? It's in the normal show over here in jolly old blighty.

  • "uh ah ah ugh uh Its starting to hurt", nice

  • Me and my buds tried this out when we went on vacation, we just tore the spine, like the did. I have videos on my page too if anyone wants to laugh at us.

  • Haha this is a game i call, break your teeth!

  • wait, what i dont get is if they used any glue or bonding material to hold it together. Like, how did they keep the phone books attached

  • The friction of the pages held them together.

  • like he said, think of it like a chinese finger trap. no glue of bonding material there

  • im doing a science fair project at my school for this and i have a question.

what type of friction is being used to do this?

    i want to be sure.

  • I think it's just static friction

  • My friend did this, it's awesome.

  • correct me if im wrong isnt that how our muscles are built?

  • you are right, this is exactly the structure of muscles.

  • Just in case you're wondering it's the myosin and actin fibers.

  • Why is this uncut? In Germany thats are a regular part of this episode.

  • lol thankx now i can NOT use 2 of my phone books :-}

  • FAVORITE SHOW EVER.

  • i wonder what would happen if you put your finger in between the pages while its being pulled...

  • it would rip it apart D:

  • 1:41 HAHAHA

  • that woudv fuking raped

  • i mean 1:57

  • haha at 1:55

  • two dutch guys did this first it was a competition in holland if u won ure thing wud be on a episode

  • i had done this yesterday it is like impossible me mi mom dad mi bro togertrer counl not pull it apart

  • i tried it with two notebooks instead of phonebooks.... Works just as well!

  • actually tori fll as the woman pushed him

  • I love Mythbusters

  • mythbusters uncut joined the youtube team when i turned 12

    on august 26 2008

  • LOL

  • 1:18 that's what she said!

  • It takes a weight up to two army tanks to pull it apart

(as seen in the original episode).

  • what year is this from? :S

  • It's a episode from year 2008.

  • Whatever happened to the blonde chick at 1:40? I forgot all about her.

  • wow

  • Pffft he doesn't weigh 250.

  • combine his weight with the force of him pulling down of the book 250+

  • when he is hanging it is impossible to pull down more than his own weight because it doesnt matter how hard he pulls down, it's still 250lb hangin. unless he was jerking which can cuase sudden change in force. but that's another story

  • true but i think adam was joking when he said 250lbs :P tory looks too skinny to weigh that much:P

  • yah thats true, he probly meant 250lbs of force.

  • 2:01

  • it is the weeve of the BOOKS that make it strong it is like (SPECTA SHILED FIBER THAT REPLACE KEVIAR" IN BALLSTIC PROTECTION ~SOFT ARMOUR~ but it works like that' =] but i don't think it can hold up a bullet because ive seen it not work LOL"

  • 1:35 to 1:43 truely fuckin funny!!

  • "They're beating us, you basties!"

  • it's pansy...

  • hey whats that say again the title on 1:35 to 1:43 LOL XD Fuk Man im Laughing soo HARD!!! ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Please Tell me the Title to it!!

    LOL XD.................

  • It's the Title of the myth that clip was taken from: "Blown Away"

The myth was that when you get shot, you go flying across the room, and Tory, being the living Dummy he is, had to test out the hanging rig before Buster.

  • this was an awesome episode, it was fun to see how they would get it apart.

  • tori will be great in the next "final destination movie" lol

  • There must be a "Must Risk Life" clause in Tory's contract

  • :P, Seriously.

  • LOLLLL

  • i was pissed i missed this

  • me to

  • The whole thing's up on the internet somewhere. I don't have TV, so i'm pretty sure it's floating around on here.
