  • You can now get this on ITunes at last.Been trying to find it for ages.

  • I saw it at the time and thought she should have won it. A group called the Jodells did and we never heard them again. This girl's very attractive.

  • I chanced to catch this performance on TV all those years ago. It was yet another talent show (the last one I ever bothered watching) - and she had it! I remember sitting transfixed by this gorgeous redhead, and 30 years on she still sounds pure gold. How good to hear to someone with a trained voice doing justice to a lovely English melody. I, too, could listen to this for 100 years; rock on, Louise!

  • SUPERGOOD!!

  • Only For You, the man God gave me and intends for me to marry, I give all of myself to you to the best of my ability according to His Holy Will, for as long as he wills it, I love you.You know who you are.

  • Amazing to find this song;SUPER!!

  • Thanks,bring back a lot of memories

  • la musica mas hermosa del mundo simplemente es maravillosa puedo pasar horas y horas escuchandola y no me canso

  • I was trying hard to find this fine version of this great tune which I remember

so well from my young years. Great! Thank you for posting!

  • Thanks you for sending to me Kyle.......differant, and interesting.

  • @MartinHH1953 get a life peckerhead!

  • @MartinHH1953 This is the kind of thing you post? LOL!!! Never fails. Take a walk through any beautiful pasture, and there's always at least one pile of annoying cow shit, crying out for attention. Well done sir, well done.

  • As a life-long lover of this piece of music, this has to be the most bizarre thing I've ever heard, yet it's strangely hypnotic!

  • As a life-long lover of this piece of music, this has to be the most bizarre thing I've ever heard, yet it's strangely hypnotic!

  • Awesome:)

  • been looking for this song for years, thanks for posting it, brings back memories.

  • my dad likes this song

  • The Sweet Confusion (Trojan Skinhead Reggae) version is still my favorite, however, this video is classic. Nice incorporation of fog. Hand in the pocket was a performance plus. Also, I've always felt that drummers are much too close to the rest of the band.

  • Is there a male version of this song?

  • love this song..!

  • Thanks for such lovely words. Happy New Year.

  • Hi mark

  • Now I hope those beautiful blue eyes God Blessed you with will be dark blue in bliss forever. Happier yet, of course we are, We aRe his blessed Holy Will, Souls joined as one.

  • tacky tacky and...tacky. Looks and sounds like a lesbian cashier from Sainsbury's accompanied by a casio keyboard.

  • @DigitalGrotto don't be such a moron and homophobic. She's a brilliant opera singer and is accompanied by Tim Smit and Charlie Skarbek who will have had more success in one week than you will manage your whole life.

  • @markdelaney Good for them. Still sucks.

  • @DigitalGrotto 7 platinum discs suggest they don't suck. Perhaps if you have nothing positive to say, don't bother saying anything ?

  • @markdelaney You're a bit obsessed with an inferior piece of music. You might want to expand your horizons.

  • @DigitalGrotto "an inferior piece of music" that's still being performed after 59 years across the world by orchestras and performers. Your ignorance clearly knows no limits.

  • @markdelaney I was talking about their version specifically haughty twat.

  • One of my favorite albums! I've searched like crazy for this song! Thanks for uploading this! (n_n)

  • I just found this Song here and it's very nice,i got Goosebumps

  • Did she go on another show like this one and sing a song called Jerusalem wearing a long black leather coat ?

  • This song makes you want to sing along

  • She has one of the nicest, clearest voices in Rock and roll...

  • Sehr schön

  • Bravissimo, i remember Louise Tucker from my much younger years, :)

  • Could listen to this "a hundred days" or a "millian times" I'd never tire of it. It's only for you......WOW!

  • heel mooi, dank u groetjes TONY

  • Midnight Blue, Hush and this song was first introduced to me by a dear friend in the 80's. I lost this music but happily found it again now by accident, thanks to you! :o)

  • Lovely!! Is this available on CD?

  • @StHelenaIslandsao, I believe it is available in a new pressing from Louise's website. See the info with the video for that link.

  • E minunata.

  • Brilliant!!!!

  • My Aunty used this tune for bridal entry when she got married back in the 80's !!! Brings back memories So cool

  • I love Louise Tucker. I have both of her Albums (Vinyl). Thank you for posting.

  • Thanks for posting this! I remember hearing this version on the radio in the mid 80's and loved it. Does anyone know if Ms. Tucker's music will eventually be on iTunes?....I'd love to buy this song in particular (and not feel like I'm ripping her off by listening to it for free on YouTube!). Thanks again for posting it!

  • was it not on the David Essex showcase ? I thought Freddie Starr revived the show in 83 and this was on the earlier series ?

  • There's about 2 secs of Freddie Starr coming onto the stage at the end of the song which I edited out.

  • @markdelaney Definatley Freddie Starr. Introduced her as "The Classical Louise Tucker". Made me late for the pub cause she sounded great.

  • A beautiful piece of music enriched, not butchered. It's a waltz and a march both in one, therein lies the genius. LOVED Midnight Blue!

  • I am pleased to say i bought two of her L.P.s when they came out , and lots of people are still able to enjoy her voice on You Tube today

  • Fantastic :-) Brilliant voice, brilliant song

  • god rest mantovani

  • A march hidden as a waltz, or a waltz hidden as a march ?

  • Try the 'Nelson Civic Ladies Choir' version.

  • Yes - a very beautiful rendition, see it here ...

    watch?v=LJHpG-CIlcE

  • Wat a rarity--beautiful music, beautiful lyrics, beautifully delivered. I first heard this song almost 30 years ago. Pop meets a minuet. Lovely. Listen to her Midnight Blue and Hush.

  • Ok, first of all, I have an original cassett, yes cassett from 1982 called Midnight blue Louise Tucker. Its almost 30 yrs old, the video is almost 30 yrs old miss tucker is the original. she was and still is an opera singer. The rest of the tape, album, cd is also excellent if you can find one. They are available from her web site, cheers!

  • love this!!!!! never get sick of it.

  • I like this version-- what ones do you like better?

  • The more you listen to Louise singing this the more you appeciate that she has the voice for it. I thibnk I think it's the production side that has let this version down. I'd still go for Eva Lind's version because the choir give her version lots more depth. But still, I like Louise's version for it has a certain amout of excitement about it lacking from many other cover versions.

  • I did not expect to agree with you, but I do! I listen to Eva's version quite often and my young daughters know this in German because of her! (They are 3 and 6 and take turns singing the choir or Eva!) Eva's transports us to ancient homes even when we sing it alone, sans youtube!

  • What an astonishing voice! Lovely to hear such perfect pitch. I seem to have missed Louise first time around, must have been partying a bit to hard back in the 80's.

  • Is there anybody else who sings this song??

  • Yes, Karel Gott the best czech singer..

  • I say Gussie..ta' for posting this! Didn't know it had lyrics...beautiful. Shame about the dated look but who cares..Tucker did have a lovely voice, wot?

  • I LOVE this song. Nice rendition...

  • I've often wondered what happened to her and Charlie. She's beautiful, but her singing is even better than that. Did she only do two CD's??

  • The whole album is good. When I was a teen, I couldn't afford to buy this cassette, because a was very poor. I bought this album on cd about 10 years ago from amazon which was very hard to find.

  • Fantastic 80's electric sound with a great voice and mix. Sounding a bit dated now though. I remeber Steve Allen playing this on LBC Radio in London at the time

  • Schönes Lied ! Danke für diesen Beitrag !

  • When I was little, in the '60's, my mother was into classics and she had the original on vinyl. When she played this it touched my 5 yr old heart so much I used to hide under my bed and cry!!!!

  • great song brings back memories

  • I'm an American and I love reading how this song makes the hearts of the Brits soar. The best actors, the best musicians, the best writers and composers, in my opinion come out of that great country.

  • I first heard this song by Louise Tucker when I was 10yr old, i still love it,thanks for posting.

  • To be a Britt is cool, I'm Pollacko

Love Louise Tucker but please flush your queen.

    Cheers

  • Almost any arrangement of this quintessential English classic has the potential to bring tears to my eyes , wherever i travel it reminds me that i will always belong to my beloved England

  • GREAT MUSIC, MARVELLOUS PERFORMER. CAN LISTEN ON AND ON, DAY BY DAY. TXS FOR SHARING THIS WITH US, FRIEND.

HAVE MANY GUD DAYS. krysana from Poland

  • I thought the video and Louise Tucker are spectacular. I feature an introduction and link from the Mantovani Fan Website. What a magnificant voice and style!

  • I don't know if everyone knows but the Elizabethan Serenade was written by Mantovani arranger, accordionist, Ronald Binge who actually developed the signature Mantovani sound.

  • Thank you for posting this video. Wow .

  • zo lekker zo fout zo jaren tachtig.........love it

  • My favorite Louise - If you're out there Connie S. reply. Nebraska dude

  • This is dangerous drug........... I need it several times a day.

It`s a one in a lifetime experience, i`ll never be the same again.

  • i fuckin love it!!!!!

  • There's a better version out there, from a kid that was 16, Tahlia Racz. will try and find it as may not be on youtube. that version has real heart, and a voice!

  • Just added this video to my facebook. I love it!

  • Love this version the woman is fantastic I have loved Elizabeth Seranade since I was a child and think Youtube and the chap who put this wonderful version on should be rewarded! My eternal thanks Sean

  • what a voice wow

  • Tis tune means England to me! I am English, but have lived in the US for 40 years now. I used to love the tune when I was "back home" and it strikes me as being so very English. This is a remarkable version--and I think I too, would like it played at my funeral!

  • I agree I am english to and have loved this song all my life but this one sends shivers up my spine and would love it played at my funeral what a fantastic woman Rule britania

  • I never knew it had lyrics. I have loved this piece for 25 years and had wanted it played at my wedding, but could not find sheet music. Seems odd now knowing that others want it at their funeral!

  • Great song Look it up on leo's lyrics.

  • i keep watching this again ... ...

  • wow this sonf is amazing - my dad played this to me when I was two - it gave me my love for music and harmony

  • Love this song. Brings back memories of a trip to Amsterdam in the 80's. Thank you so much for posting it.

  • jolly good Muzz! we all miss your wonderful voice, a heavenly cherub, what? Thanks for posting this gussie.

  • I have never heard this tune with lyrics. I just love closing my eyes and listening to her beautiful voice. bravo!! and thanks for posting :)

  • I first heard this many years ago. Louise is brilliant. Thank you for posting this.

  • This is the first time I have heard this version of Elizabethan Serenade and it is totally brilliant. A fantastic rendition which works perfectly - I could listen to it all night.

Another great singer for my collection - 10/10

  • Fab girlie song...apparently she is a West Country lass and I noted her singing in our local festival in Budleigh Salterton in Devon,UK.

  • I love her she has a fabulous voice! Thanks for posting this.

  • I love this song also and listen to it at least 3 or 4 times per day. I absolutely love her outfit. Isn't it much more sensible than what passes for performers' costumes currently?

  • It's better than what we see now, but I'm not crazy about it as far as costumery. It's still as distracting because I am thinking, "Why is she wearing that? It's so wrong for the song!" as opposed to, "Go cover yourself up!" The outfit should not make you think of it other than how perfect it is with the song.

  • can't stop playing this video..absolutely love it ....

  • just fabulous,,,love listening to this song..

    and beautiful to watch,so relaxing

  • Just one super voice and song...i have the original LP and thanks for You Tube and the post from a good friend, i can now enjoy this rare video...

    Raymond ... U.S.A. ... Pennsylvania

  • I have her Midnight Blue CD.

    She certainly is underrated.

  • I played my Midnight Blue CD so many times that it wore out on this song and the Midnight Blue CD! I sing along like crazy in my car to it, but I have no voice for singing. My children see me sing all the time and they sing as well, but they have precious voices. They aren't the stars in their choir, and you can say that they have more passion than talent (like their mom!) but they'll still be singing long after the "stars" quit!

  • I have been a Louise Tucker fan for many, many years. I have been in love with this piece since I first heard it more than 20 years ago. THANK YOU SO MUCH for posting this video. It is so wonderful and uplifting!!!!

  • This is incredible-- it's one of my favorite songs ever!

  • Hallo

Die Fassung kannte ich bisher noch nicht.Ist Super Gefällt mir sehr Gut!

  • can someone tell me was louise tucker from holland ??

  • She is from England. Her website says she left pop music after a couple of albums and returned to Opera I think. Anyway, I bought my copy of Midnight Blue from her site and it is a shame you can't find it any other way. Real collectors item.

  • Haha! I love it. I really love Elizabethan Serenade, so this is a great variation on a great song. Could this video be more 80's though? From the dueling synthesizers to the super high pants to the shoulder-padded blazer to the 80 chick fro.....it's so glorious!

  • synths really remind me of very early 80s Kim Wilde days (Cambodia & the like)

  • I love every song this woman has ever recorded!

Nice to know that she and Paula Poundstone have the same wardrobe designer.

  • wooow i never knew! Miss Tucker you are a LEGEND! haha love the outfit :) looks awsome!

    xxx

  • Thank YOU for posting this song! I lost my tape of the album. Thank you for bringing it back.

  • Wow! What a glorious track from this gifted female artist. The song just soars to new heights. Great stuff! Bless you, Louise Tucker. Thank you for this clip gussie5555.

  • thanks !

  • music can be so great

  • There are quite a few versions of 'Elizabethan Serenade', actually...

  • Miss you Muzz!!! Love You Forever!!!

  • I say, I'm rather surprised! I didn't know anyone had put this to lyrics. She has a lovely voice...shame about the 80's looking outfit and hair though! But really what a beautiful voice!

  • Wow, nice version. Roland Binge would be surprised :)

  • Ronnie would indeed be surprised , as would everyone who ever bought this single , that it was written by a light classical composer from the 50s . ( he may have cringed at the use of electronics , but I suspect he would have been proud )

  • i have a CD

  • Yeah, great singer

  • Thanks for this video. I have this music on an LP but did not know anything about the artist.

  • She sings very well this is beautiful as well as her Midnight Blue song. Does anyone have any more of her music?
