Well there are several of them...remember the episodes when they did the truck challenge or the botswana special or the aussie special? They referred to the masked racer as the stig's american/african/australian cousin, etc so essentially assuming the cousin's are also stig's there's more than one guy doing it. But yeah for all Brit ep's and top gear testing, etc it might just be one guy!
The Veyron is fast but handles poorly. It's very heavy and the Zonda is light and nimble along with very powerfull. That's a deadly combination in a car. The lighter car almost always is faster around a corner.
yes that's why the zonda f was 0.1 seconds slower, and the ZONDA F ROADSTER was 0.5 seconds FASTER, the zonda has been my favourite car since i first saw one on top gear
Not much of a statement since it got replaced as fastest street car by SSC. Automobile magazine thinks the Viper they tested in the 0-200mph shootout they did could beat it too. The Viper hit 220mph on the runway test track and was pulling harder at that speed than the Veyron at 200mph. Getting that kind of speed from a RWD pushrod V10 is more impressive than a computerised machine. Both the SSC and the Hennacy Viper impress me more.
You show a lot of ignorance makign assumptions about me. Simple fact is, computerized cars are not my thing. I'm a purist. I was RWD, propper manual gear box, minimal to no computer interfearence. I could care less if it a car runs on 107 or 87. BTW, the tuned 1000hp Viper runs on 93. Normal premium here in the states. To be honest I find a Lotus Exige more impressive than the Veyron. The Veyron is a one trick pony that's already lost it's trick.
computerized cars, that the only thing you can buy here, for atleast 20 years, now. : ) welcome to the present world. the viper aint tuned, but detuned. it's 16 cyl 8 liters, europes achieve more power from smaller displacements. but the viper is 16cyl. the viper doesn't even do more with wind in the back. LIMITED. for examples the audi A8 4.2 tdi accelerates faster than mustang GT with 5.x liters of engines and it runs on diesel and it achieves a higher topspeed. : ) flinstone
The viper is a V10, not a V16. HP per displacement is not a huge deal either. Obviously a bosted engine will get more from less displacement than a NA engine in most cases. The mustang is a junk car, so it's not much to compare with. But there are some cars that are new with next to no computer assists in them. Exige only has a TCS system that can be turned off. Arial Atom, nothing. Saleen S7 nothing. Since I actually spend time on tracks, I rather have stripped down cars. Again, purist.
i know the viper is a v10, because i bought a scale model when i was 17, 18 years ago and i still own it, actually i have 2, my rc gas powered car has a viper body and roughtly 500 pages info about the car.

The things that mask imperfection in the chassis and/or keep you and the car out of trouble. The S7 does not have it because it does not need it. It's very drivable with out stability control and as long as you know how to drive a fast car, the rear stays planted with out the need for TCS.

You are getting all mixed up here. I know the 1000HP car is hard to get all the power down in RWD. In the shoot out Automobile Magazine had to get the car over 150mph before going wide open. And it still hit 200mph faster than the Veyron. The S7 tops out at a little over 700 hp in the Twin Turbo version. At least that what it was last I read about it.
That is EXACtLY why it sucks. The Ausies have no issues driving RWD V8 Supercars with 700hp and no TCS. I don't want TCS or and form of stability managment. If an old lady can drive that car it has way to much interfearence. You just do not get it becuase you have never driven highperformance cars on the track. I am a racer. Been doing it for years. The more the computer jumps in the less you can push the car. The only exception is maybe an EVO.

Well there are several of them...remember the episodes when they did the truck challenge or the botswana special or the aussie special? They referred to the masked racer as the stig's american/african/australian cousin, etc so essentially assuming the cousin's are also stig's there's more than one guy doing it. But yeah for all Brit ep's and top gear testing, etc it might just be one guy!

The Veyron is fast but handles poorly. It's very heavy and the Zonda is light and nimble along with very powerfull. That's a deadly combination in a car. The lighter car almost always is faster around a corner.

Not much of a statement since it got replaced as fastest street car by SSC. Automobile magazine thinks the Viper they tested in the 0-200mph shootout they did could beat it too. The Viper hit 220mph on the runway test track and was pulling harder at that speed than the Veyron at 200mph. Getting that kind of speed from a RWD pushrod V10 is more impressive than a computerised machine. Both the SSC and the Hennacy Viper impress me more.

You show a lot of ignorance makign assumptions about me. Simple fact is, computerized cars are not my thing. I'm a purist. I was RWD, propper manual gear box, minimal to no computer interfearence. I could care less if it a car runs on 107 or 87. BTW, the tuned 1000hp Viper runs on 93. Normal premium here in the states. To be honest I find a Lotus Exige more impressive than the Veyron. The Veyron is a one trick pony that's already lost it's trick.

The viper is a V10, not a V16. HP per displacement is not a huge deal either. Obviously a bosted engine will get more from less displacement than a NA engine in most cases. The mustang is a junk car, so it's not much to compare with. But there are some cars that are new with next to no computer assists in them. Exige only has a TCS system that can be turned off. Arial Atom, nothing. Saleen S7 nothing. Since I actually spend time on tracks, I rather have stripped down cars. Again, purist.

I'm not talking fuel ingection and ignition systems. I'm talking about stability controle and traction controle. The things that mask imperfection in the chassis and/or keep you and the car out of trouble. The S7 does not have it because it does not need it. It's very drivable with out stability control and as long as you know how to drive a fast car, the rear stays planted with out the need for TCS.

it's a 5 million € car.
it toke/takes 5 million/piece too build 300 veyrons.
it's a limosine with 1001hp+, it's not a race car.
it's ment for people that ride from paris to amsterdam, just to eat lunch in the morning and in the afternoon ride back or in the midle of the night after a party.

You are getting all mixed up here. I know the 1000HP car is hard to get all the power down in RWD. In the shoot out Automobile Magazine had to get the car over 150mph before going wide open. And it still hit 200mph faster than the Veyron. The S7 tops out at a little over 700 hp in the Twin Turbo version. At least that what it was last I read about it.

That is EXACtLY why it sucks. The Ausies have no issues driving RWD V8 Supercars with 700hp and no TCS. I don't want TCS or and form of stability managment. If an old lady can drive that car it has way to much interfearence. You just do not get it becuase you have never driven highperformance cars on the track. I am a racer. Been doing it for years. The more the computer jumps in the less you can push the car. The only exception is maybe an EVO.

The AWD WRC cars would never be as fast as they are without computer controlling things like being able to shift all power to any wheel, only braking front left and rear right wheel etc. and all those things massive anmounts a time in just one second. These are things you just can't do no matter how good driver you are.
