  • People who sit watching Olga's vids for 10mins then declaring how much they hate them, or the foods all wrong or that they plain old don't like her. Do you not see the contradiction or irony in that?. Sad sad lonely people. If i see something on YT i dont like or agree with, i just dont watch it, crazy idea i know. Try it sometime. Go Olga! :)

  • ya american, N, ya bodet gatovit borosh dela Tbya, holisho ?

  • You contaminated everything with raw chicken that causes salmonela and you touched your face you can get pinkeye. You didn't wash anything you used it's a good thing you were cooking those vegatables or whoever ate that would be very sick. This is why Canada won't have the zombie apocolypse or mutant flu, we wash everything in hot soapy water especially when in contact with raw meat.

  • @lizzyloo97 You would not last a sunrise in Russia

  • Hello Olga wow looks good ! I think I'll try to make some too! thanks !!!

  • This is just total crap. This is NOT Russian food, and she isn't qualified to teach anything. Typical YouTube misinformation. And before you write some angry response to me saying that I don't know what I'm talking about, I'm the executive chef at one of the largest restaurants in Russia.

  • @MrPlanx But this was 4 years ago... So why are you getting so rowdy about it now?

  • @LeaCatstache - the video is still up and being watched by people, isn't it? There are comments on this thread that show people don't know any better. I'm weighing in as a voice for whoever else might come along in the future here and be misled. If the video were taken down, I certainly wouldn't be sending email to the person who made the video. I would have no reason to care then.

  • Plov is not Uzbekistan and not Russian as Uzbekistan was once part of Russia, but has broken away.

  • plov is actually a food from Uzbekistan, but since many russians lived there, the food spread out throughout russia

  • It's NOT Russian in any case. Pilaf and similar dishes are common to Middle Eastern, Central and South Asian, East African, Latin American, and Caribbean cuisines. During the years of the Soviet Union, the dish spread throughout the other Soviet republics, becoming a favorite in such diverse places as Russia, Ukraine, and Georgia.

  • Mooshy Mommy! This is old school Olga Kay! I love it! Do some more cooking videos. I know you and Jess (and sometimes Joe) like to cook together. You guys should do a fun cooking show.

  • Thank you for the video Olga. My family is from Dobrinka and this dish brings back memories. Keep up the good work and don't let people discourage you.

  • watch.. "IB kid vs regular teacher: epic war" its hilarious!

  • Comment removed

  • i would love it if you did more cooking videos!

  • Food is universal. One dish may be common in many cultures and countries.

  • Pilaf dish is not Russian, its central Asian.

  • Plov is not Russian kitchen, it's UZBEK.

  • @yyttroll

Man it hurts even more when they call Borsch a russian food...

  • @Soulonthewall I know! Russians always misappropriate things from other cultures. They even took their "matrioshka" from the Chinese...

  • @yyttroll

    Lol.

I don't even get why she put chicken in it and called it a Plov... The real Plov is made of lamb. This is just a "rice and chicken and other stuff" meal...

  • I can tell you you really are a dirty person how afeter you touch your hed you touch the food hell noooo!!! you are sho us how dirty are the russian people

  • also, its pronounced too-meric :D

  • she burned herself 3:41 :< poor olga. hope u get better even if this vid was 4 years ago :)

  • Omg moy papa pram obashait plov! No on deliet chuchut padrigomu!

  • YA LOOBLLOOOO PLOV <3 MMMMM

Oh, you're cooking for Americans..... Let them eat that crap!

  • ja lubit plov!!!

  • that is very strange recipe, maybe it taste good , but i've never heard about it. Plov originally is not a Russian dish.

  • @MariaPerepelkina it has so many variations all over x-USSR, everybody cooks it differently. but yes, it's not originally russian. :)

  • plov! i love eating it! my mom make it all the time!

  • In Soviet Russia you dont cook the food, THE FOOD COOKS YOU!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @kristianf4lk ....wrong...in soviet russia you could BECOME the food...cannibalism existed in the ukraine in the 1930s famine and it was recorded during the siege of leningrad...it is very inappropriate of you to bring this up during a cooking show

  • @jethro035181 your funny now

  • @kristianf4lk oh shut up. those jokes are soo old. not funny anymore.

  • @kristianf4lk why do people thumb up this kind of comment

  • @kristianf4lk

    tipical USA comment!!

This suck)
  • plov is uzbek food not russian

  • OLGA! Make more videos with you making Russian food.

  • It's very bad to use the same knife to cut the vegetables after cutting meat. Always rinse both knife and cutting board after handling meat or it could make you sick.

  • Great vid...looks great!!!! Thanks for sharing!

  • It looks like Risotto not plov. It seems that chicken and rice became a Russian tradition during the Soviet era.

  • did she eat raw chicken? o.O

  • @toughchance4283 i saw that and i was like what are you doin??

  • @toughchance4283 At 1:59 I think she just smelled it or something. Gosh who knows.

  • THAT IS NOOOOT PLOV

  • You would be a great wifeskay.

  • I luv plov =P

  • honestly... this is the most increadible shit I've ever seen and it's got NOTHING to do with so called "Russian food"

  • can u make more of thesei want to make them

  • this is freakin good !!! we make it at my house like all the time!!!

  • Poor Olga :'( Wash the onion before you slice it.

  • this is not Plov, it can't called plov, with the spices she used- it's more looks like "biriani"-indian rice food.Plov never been tipical russian dish, russians picked it from Central Asia during Soviet Union times. You never cook Plov with ant meat diced like she did, it must be in big chunks of chicken or chunks of beef or lamb. It all supposed to be cooked in the same pan.You can never add ketchup to it, there is no blsht there what she has added,it had to be CUMIN SEEDS

  • I laughed so. Who said this is RUSSIAN food?

Also, what was shown us as a result didn't attract me at all.

Come on! That's sucks.

  • this is not plov, real plov is coocked with lamb, i think ^_^

and this is not russian dish, this is caucasian dish :)

    im russian :)

  • I don't think its russian food. its more europe south. When i doing this i do with chiken, more ketchup, no onion, 1 carrot, and a lot of rice.

  • my family would always make this with beef instead of chicken..I would always have this as a child since my parents are Russian immigrants. It's great!

  • We are currentley living in moscow but where in the usa right now and we made this for our family that is hosting us in america.

  • i made it with my grandmaw and it was amazing

  • ha ha, plov , this is just rise with chicken

  • I LOVE PLOV!! my mum always Makes it!

  • Hey olga this dish you made it is a traditional food we make in saudi arabia it's called "kabsah".

  • eto ni russkaya kuhnya a uzbekskaya i ne prawilno ti sgatowila milochka

  • JUST came across this video of yours. I'm trying this tonight!

  • just a tip wear swimmers goggles when slicing onions and don't cry

  • Also, I've noticed that the cutting board slides quite a bit. To avoid the sliding of the cutting board and injuries, here's a little tip: wet a paper towel and put it under the cutting board, it will secure the cutting board on the counter. @ maoiao, yes indeed a real plov is made with lamb, not the chicken.

  • Olga, no offence, but you should never touch your hair righ before you touch products or during the cooking process. That is a no no.

  • Olga, no offense, but you should never touch your hair right before you touch products. That is a no no.

  • plof is made only from sheep-lamb

  • I'll try to cook this. Moosh! XD

  • crazy eyes lol she ll kill you if you dont it that lol

  • she likes it small

  • The only thing Russian about this dish is the person cooking it.

  • i thought you ate a piece of raw chicken but you were just smelling it lol.

  • When you made this video were you living in America or Uzbekistan or Russia? the layout of the kitchen is very different the counters are very tall I am very big into construction contracting I am also a chef your dish looks very good I am going to make that dish soon I think you Olga are a very talented young lady and I admire you I also juggle a bit

  • i want a Russian woman now

im in love with this girl

  • i usually put carrot in owen for while..

  • not russian..uzbekistan plov..

  • who cares what it is i made it and it was fucking awesome....

  • @kvr1930 olga does not suck. at all shes so hot

  • you suck!! plov with chiken? are u crazy? Plov must be with lamb!!! That is when it's called PLOV, dura!!!

  • that sounds realy good im going to ask my mom if i can make it with her. Your vids rock!!

  • @Yelenaferjani +1

slightly different from the original recipe of plov, chicken is not the best choice, I think you should use a lamb or even beef instead.

Also the original recipe require a special iron pot - kazan ( the big WOG-like pan)

  • This is good rice wich chicken, NOT plov. And plov is not russing food. As Russian myself, I know for sure we got from our Asian neighbors (all neighbors, thanks a lot! We love you food!) and just simplified it. And who puts turmeric in plov in Russia?

  • what does that mean?

  • @stekljshka16 Oh aha

  • everybody makes plov differently but still i wouldn't make it the way she did it.

  • Omg. Plov's really good :) My mom always makes that!

  • beautiful,talented,russian...need i say more can't ask for more

  • I love your videos! You should take your clothes off!!!

  • i am russian and she forgot an important ingredient

  • I am not Russian so I wouldn't know what the 'proper' ingredients were to be used in this dish . . but it did look delicious & appetizing. My ONLY concern with the Cooking was her Using a PLASTIC Spatula in Stirring Food in a HOT Pan. It might have melted. A Wooden Spoon should have been Used. But, Otherwise, a Very Nice Presentation. Nostrova : )

  • @herrstix: yep, me too. I have the ingredients for a proper borscht and want something traditional to go with it, anyone got some recepies I can check out? I never prepared either borscht or this but a friend is visiting and I wan't to make a suprise dish.

  • Foreign can feel more comfortable in a country they live now, legal and have own business!!!! We inspire them to discover a better alternatives!

  • wow i love it *-* my mom do it alway's :D so Delicious ♥

  • thanks i'll try it out!

  • turmeric is an indian herb..stolen by th rest of the world......by those who ruled India, nothing is authentic.

  • Well... I'm 100% Russian but PLOV is not originally russian dish. Yes, it's extremely popular now in Russia, every ethnic russian at least once made plov. But it came from Central Asia. It is a fact and you cannot argue with that. But dish is awesome, we at home make it very often, спасибо Ольга :)

  • @ValeraL I'll agree with that =)

  • It seems like plov is like American/Mexican chili. There are many ways to make it, and most of them come out tasting good. I'm inspired by this video. Thanks Olga!

  • also, a norwegian dish. it doesn't look all that good, but trust me.

boil sheep meat (lots per pers)(soup-meat with bones and stuff) in a huge pot (10litres+) for about an hour, add cabagge (sliced in "boats")(the biggest you can find, two if there's room) and add salt and black pepper (whole pepper aswell as crushed. you taste when its enough, remember to refill water as it boils, it needs to cover it all). let it boil for another 1,5-2 hours, serve with boiled potatoes and carrots ^^,

  • turmeric or whatever, I think its curry?

btw, tip for anything you have rice for, put rasins, one cut-up onion and some spices (curry or tomato-paste depending on what sort of dish you're making) in the rice when you put the rice into the pot, best rice evah ^^,

also, the same what you did, but instead of rice you throw in more vegetables and add more soup, then you add some potatoes (skin off or whatever its called) and let it boil until potatoes are done. gulash or something, good ^^,

  • Bliny, Borsch, Pelmeni ....mmmmm good!!!!!!!!

  • Originally Plov (or pilaf) is not a Russian dish. The word is borrowed from Turkish and the dish came to Europe through Turkey. The rice came to Russia much later than to any European country.

    Good video.

  • I don't know exactly how to cook the plov ( though I'm Russian=)) but it looks like that)

  • I wish people would stop saying thats not how its made, its a russian dish and she's from russia. She's making it how its made at home. Everyone makes it different depending on where they are from.

  • word.

  • @smnfaw3 - She is Russian American, and doesn't know what she's doing on so many levels. Turmeric wasn't even available in Russia until the last couple of years, and even now only in Moscow and Saint Petersburg in specialty ethnic stores. There is only one store in all of St. Pete that you can get turmeric. Her methods for cooking everything are neither authentic, nor technically correct. First giant mistake is using boullion cubes. Also, you can't properly brown chicken when its crowded. Blah!

  • Actually, you may be right about how its made, but like I said, everyone makes it different. Also, she is a Russian, who moved to America. She was not born here with Russian roots. But yeah I guess you are right about the cooking, I mean, when did cooking become an exact science??

  • @smnfaw3 - I'm not talking about "exact science" here. The problem here is that she isn't qualified to teach anyone anything about cooking. She makes just about every mistake possible in presenting a nonauthentic version of something that isn't even Russian in the first place (Plov was adopted during the Soviet era from Uzbekistan). I wouldn't mind so much if she did a half decent job of making her version, but this is a housewife with an inflated ego - nothing more.

  • The hell she isn't qualified. who the hell are you to say who's qualified to teach. She prepared a dish that was probably really good. How the hell do you know if she is a housewife?????? Damn your ignorance makes me sick!!

  • @starsfound - I was a professional chef probably before you were born. My ignorance? LOL How many Michelin stars do you have?

  • I love PLOV. My whole family, including me, is russian. My mom makes it a bit differently though.

    Yumm. :]

  • my father makes plov for me on special occasions YUM^^

  • are you ok? i saw you cut your finger. i am totaly going to make that!!!!!

  • thats a very wierd plov... don't think that's how its made... at least not around here

  • did you cut your finger?

  • you should probably wash your hands.

  • that's not how you make it and you did n't put raisins the most inportlant part

  • @SuperJustme13 I hated it when my mom would make it with raisins.

  • @li2001157 nooooo it is so yummiiie, my mom uses also almonds to it ^^ nam nam nam

  • @Avushka I just don't like raisins in general but almonds sounds really good! :)

  • i've eaten that!!! but in a mexican style! :D

  • V pervie slyshu chto PLOV is "russian dish". Gotovish ty ne ploho, tolko plovom eto nazvat' trudno. v poslednee vremya bludo gde est' ris i myaso privykli nazyvat' plovom. no ya nazvalby eto prosto ris s myasom. a nastoyashiy plov mojno poprobyvat' v Uzbekistane, Turkmenii, toest' v Cental Asia.

  • I am KGB we watch you closely

  • I'm half Serbian, which is pretty close to Russian and we have similar food and it's really yummy. LOL

  • good job i like your cooking

  • nice pink pants :D

  • my mother used to make plov all the time.

  • Im russian I LOVE PLOV

  • i'm russian and I love plov and my parents and grandma make it a lot. Even though I'm russian I don't really like borscht that much. jus though i'd say that.
