by the way asmoen, I appreciate your wonderful comments on my vid. I have a couple more now, if you want to peak at them. You rock, and I respect your thoughts and opinions!
can some one tell me what this song is!!! and if anyone knows the one with "DOWN BY THE WATER ROLLING" lyrics can they tell me that too it will be greatly appreciated
Beautiful voice and beautiful choice of songs. A Cappella does these lyrics justice! I am really glad I ran across this - thanks for posting - you sound great.
@bobrobertsful Hi! I'm sorry to say I'm not generally a Dylan fan (don'thateme!), but I checked out Percy's Song. I can't seem to find a version of him actually singing it...did he sing it or did he just write it? I see mainly Joan Baez (which I could definitely learn) or youtubers doing their covers. Let me know if there's a version that you prefer!
Young lady, YOU have the pipes of an angel. If you love to sing, as your voice sounds like you do, pursue your god given gift! Remember djoe said so!!!! Great job...absolutely great!
@asmoen ....I love your voice.....are you playing cards?????? If you would, take some time and give my video a peak and feedback....I'd appreciate it greatly asmoen.... ....only one posted ...

Please find a string band to sing with. Seriously. You have a wonderfully expressive clear voice singing alone. With a band, you would have folks in tears.
This great song was resurrected by Jody Stecher in the early 70's. He rewrote the song considerably. The Garcia acoustic band started playing it in the late 80's. I assume the Songcatcher folks heard Garcia's version. A really haunting tune and you sang it beautifully.
@MrEdyoulis Thank you for the kind words and also for some background on the song! Songcatcher is the only place I've heard this version, so it's nice to hear where it may have come from.
What a sweet, wonderful voice you have; you have no reason to be nervous at all. Your performance of this beautiful and horrible song is very touching. Keep up the good work!
I know the cat was an accident, but it was a nice feature of the video. It would have been ok to see the card playing too. I don't understand too much about what makes videos good, but yours works really well with those things.

Appreciate the song and the way you sing it very much. Your cat's appearance is a great finishing touch to explain the suspense of the background noise.
this is really great. i cant sing to save my life, but i try anyways.. these old mountain songs are amazing, and its good to see and hear people still singing them. and i know how nervous you can get when you are performing for people, but you still sounded great. all that i would say is slow it down a touch and it would be phenomenal.
Thank you. You sang this beautifully. Perfectly, really. It is one of my favorite old ballads. Just out of curiosity, what were you fiddling with and looking down at while you were singing? I am shy when I sing too, and very camera shy. Was that it?
@Notowitz Hi- I'm so glad you liked it. Yeah, I get really nervous singing for the camera (and people) haha. I'm playing cards (a game called SET) to keep my mind otherwise occupied.
You don't need to be told what a lovely voice you have, and good control - it's great discovering these folk songs, but you need to bring something of yourself to them, and you do, they sound fresh, like those girls did in the sixties, Joan Baez, Ann Briggs and others. Well done and I hope you go from strength to strength.
@clevblue what a lovely compliment! Thank you. I'm glad it doesn't sound like I'm just reproducing someone else's sound. I love these songs, so it's good to hear that I'm sharing them with new life.
i loved your song and you have a face to match id say keep at it to get beter but that was perfection

Do you do Dylan covers? I'd love to hear you do "Percy's Song," this old folk song inspired it.

I really understand that. I am nowhere near as good a singer as you, but I would also have to distract myself in front of the camera.
