Just posting social media links is not enough, those links are archived and lose value fast, I have tested this many times in controlled experiments.

Long term structural contextual links you have to work hard to find are what count.

ultimately yeah, more relative links will build your sites page rank but you need to use meta tags in the back of your site correctly, particularly the title, description and abstract sections in the source of your page.

and you need to have plenty of relevant content, highlighting primary keywords you want to be found under without spamming, site maps will also help and links on your page leading to other pages will also build page rank, never put "click here" always put the "product name"!

The one thing you forgot to do is to post your link in your About this video description! I know you can not place anchor text but if you have a keyword descriptive url to begin with, or at least an extension such as the-most-expensive(dot)com it works the same way.

I tested anchor test for my marketing site thetrafficmaster(dot)info using the phrase Web 2.0 Internet Traffic Trends...guess what it works in blog commenting (not spamming) and your theory holds true.

This is somewhat misleading. You don't need Web 2.0, or even lots of links to have good SERP ranking. You can do it with on page SEO. That is where you should start, and then build from there.

On page SEO is only about 1/10th of what Google uses to decide how to rank you. Inbound links, their quality ... things like that make up the other 9/10ths.

If for no other reason, the web 2 sites give you lots of high quality in bound links to help your site rank better.
