I worked at a plant joined the union and payed my dues...I agree that the union is a good thing..well it was meant to be a good thing...at the plant I worked at the union controlled the plant and that hurt it in many ways...I have since lost my job due to company out sourcing to mexico...my dues went to waste..I will never work for a union again..

Well, 1 month ago I was fired from my job at a plant in SC after 16 yrs. I feel if a union existed in that plant, I would still have a job. I did my job to the best of my ability, never missed a day unless I was ill & got good evaluations, but one mishap with a prontow and "See ya." We also worked a lot of forced 12 hr. days & weekends. 1 mechanic was out with a finger injury, but had to come in & state to a "committee" how it occured or be fired, against doctor's orders. Unions, yes.
