  • Although what Armstrong did was pretty good, this crash did effectively end Beloki's career. It's a shame people don't remember this as much, as he was a easily a podium favourite.

  • the crash ended belokis career and stupid americans only talk about stupid lance armstrong.....

  • Mario Kart 64

  • Whether an Armstrong fan or not. That was impressive under pressure.

  • suck a star i would call that fucking cheating!! asshole!

  • not really that impressive...

  • if you can do that, why not just cut through the whole thing instead of riding in the path?

  • some of you guys are crazy....he did not cheat at all. try to actually watch the video and you see that he lets every person that he passed becasue of the shortcut back in front of him. so it was the same as it was originally.

  • 1.) He cheats by not getting back to the race course on the same spot he left it

2.) He cheats by intentionaly going in front of the riders and mounting on his bike there so they have to slow down to avoid the crash

Thats very unsportlike and should have been sanctioned

  • @CroTomCat, I'm not sure if you noticed but Armstrong actually lost time by cutting the corner, obviously it is faster to follow the road. He had to go on the right side of the road becuase the riders coming down were on the left, he definately wouldn't have deliberately cut off other riders, especially when they're doing speeds of 60-80mph.

  • @aJDfMDl Yeah, doing 500mph right after corner... Riders coming down were on the right because from the left corner you exit on the right side of the road, and he deliberatly mount in front of them, so they have to slow and avoid him on the left to cut his loses. And the guy who stoped together with him but chose road route, gets to that point later than him

  • @aJDfMDl lol they arent doing speeds of 60-80 mph, there are doing 60-80 KILOMETERS per hour. Every once and a whole they will go 60mph on a steep decent. but they definatley never come even close to 80.

  • @KeelanMcDorman They are doing speeds of up to around 70 miles per hour or 110 kilometres per hour. Those are speeds on the straight sections of course, not average speeds.

  • Some short cut!

  • Respect.

  • ese tour era de beloki si no se hubiese caido

  • Lance was fond of his shortcuts alright

  • one of the few things i remember from my early childhood

  • he trained his ass off to compete and win the tour 7 times, was drug tested straight after each race, had and survived cancer and people STILL call him a cheat? why do people always call people who do amazing things cheats?? perhaps he is just that good? and anyone who can slag him off for having cancer are sick m.f's! try reading his book and learning something instead of insulting him

  • @neil670

Yeah then why does he refuse to have his urine tests re examined through today's equipment?

  • @neil670 haters has to hate something bro.

  • WHAT A ASSHOLE.

  • Incredible how the guy admires Armstrong but almost doesn't say a word about Beloki who pratically ended his career after this crash (he never got to the same level again). Armstrong did nothing but lie during his whole career, he's nothing but the biggest cheater in cycling history. His fake cancer is the best proof.

  • @Ygonn proof that he has fake cancer?! how ironic...

  • thats a One Nut Cheater right there!

  • Hmmm... illegal. Just like EPO.

  • and this? is doping? great save... respect! 7 times World Champion

  • @ivojiggy; He only won the world champion ONE time.....you ignorant

    .

  • @NassguI you know what is the most important event in the world? He won it 7 times you fucking chico. Resume your insignificance and stfu.

  • Lance Armstrong did a number of things, and he gave himself cancer. He cheated, he did drugs, and he gave himself cancer. Well, instead of saying ‘Hey listen, I cheated and gave myself cancer. Don’t be like me,’ he actually made himself the victim and then went out and profited something like $15 million from this ‘Hey, poor me, let’s find a cure for cancer’ campaign instead of just coming clean and saying, ‘Look, here’s what I did, I screwed myself up, and I hope people learn from my mistakes

  • @justplainly how can you give your self cancer? You're an idiot.

  • @justplainly; indeed, you're such a fscking ignorant mfer, he just trained harder than everyone else and hardly race any other race besides the tour.....SO! of course he was going to be better than the rest.

Maybe Jan had done the same thing, oh! no, but instead he gained weight over the OFF season instead of training hard........LOL.

Get the puck out of here you ignorant.

That's why Pele was the best EVER, because he worked hard.

  • @justplainly seek proffesional mental help!

  • Does everyone get tired of these lonely douche bags that just use youtube to bitch and complain. I don't even road ride but I came to see this video and sure enough lance this and lance that. You queefs are pathetic. I could be watching a video of a fireman saving a child and you assholes would be complaining about that too.

  • @vampov True story, people just have no respect. And they sure don't have the guts to get out and back anything they say up. Call him a cheat on winning 7 tours, okay all well and good... if you can do better. Until then, people need to quit the bitching.

  • Post copyrighted material, put ads over the content

    woo

  • Armstrong is a drug abuser!

  • @sisumatom; Like kavendish, Armstrong worked hard for the Tour, did you ever heard about his hard training for specifically the Tour and not any other race? The Vuelta, the Giro.....while he only trained and rode the course of where the Tour was going to go through for weeks before they actually rode over the stage?

Nah.......you're too stupid and ignorant to see that he worked hard and smarter than any other racer.

Here in America there's a saying: Work "smart", not "hard".

    It pays off.

  • WOW. what a BEAST!!!

  • Armstrong did a good job here and avoided crashing due to... luck! If he was just a few more inches ahead he would've flipped over or crashed. Can't avoid physics. Whether or not he would've had debilitating injuries is of course unknown; could be just some road rash to tour-write off. But like I said, he was lucky, just like he was lucky to avoid a positive on doping detection.

  • epic moment

  • big deal!

  • what a stupid comment... hoorah for Armstrrong.. no word about Beloki

  • thats discualifation he should go bsck the hill and no short cut and enough epo he consume livestone

  • He was a mountainbiker

  • Armstrong was nothing but a cheat

  • fuck up man and stop talking about the best ever larnce armistrong!

  • @SuperOlleman

None of this changes the fact that he has done more with his life than your entire family, let alone your lazy ass.

Quit hating on people that are better than you just because you don't want to admit how pathetic you really are.

FFS just enjoy the amazing clip you douche.

  • @sensistar49 yeah sure Hamilton is lying he was Lance's lieutenat for years, wake up, you why should i cheer for a guy who is a cheat. Armstrong should be stripped of all the things he won.

  • @SuperOlleman "yeah sure Hamilton is lying he was Lance's lieutenat for years, wake up, you why should i cheer for a guy who is a cheat."

Because the people who don't use drugs are finishing dead last. Armstrong isn't the only one that has an excellent doctor and is using "supplements" that haven't yet been declared illegal. All the top racers are, EVERY SINGLE ONE.

At this level of competition, it's impossible to compete with just eating your veggies & taking vitamins.

  • @SuperOlleman Armstrong didnt use EPO. Never did. Was just a rumour, but which was proven to be wrong so he was not a cheat.

  • @sensistar49 but yeah you right its a amazing what you can do with EPO flowing though your blood.

  • @SuperOlleman name your favorite Cyclist and we can find a story about how they were drugged up all the time with no substantial proof being given other than somebodies story. Amazing what passes for factual evidence nowadays in the mind of the mentally impaired.

  • Comment removed

  • @turfturbo hmm funny how Lance threw money after thoes who made the doping tests, that should make the alarm bells ring.

  • @SuperOlleman its cool how you can take rumors and gossip and treat them as facts. Its fun.

  • No its not cheating because he actually ended up near the same place he started if not back a couple postitions

  • Drugs don't make people good at sports. They give incredibly talented people a slight but significant edge over other talented people. Lance's accomplishments and talent (well displayed in this video) gave him the edge on a field of great athletes, who were all using PED's.

  • Armstrong ciclocross!

  • It's about time people laid Off Lance. He has never tested positive and thats all that needs to be said. Face facts you doubters Lance is the King off Cycling !

  • Beloki could of broke his neck.

  • is the commentator in love with Armstrong? ^^

  • @Alexokrat the commentator is former British pro Paul Sherwen, he was invovled with Armstrongs team Motorola in the early 1990"s. So they are connected..

  • Itd been incredible if he'd done a little jump.

  • @anonanon222 " little man punk troll. g nite little troll boy.

  • "This is incredible!! Armstrong is such a star!!!". It was unbelievable what he did.

  • In theory this is illegal, but since he didnt earn any advantage, and since he had to react on the crash in front of him, he wasnt punished for this.

I dont think anyone still believes this man was a clean rider, but of course, even with state of the art doping in your body, you still need talent and years of practice to accomplish what he did. Still, doping from toes to hairtips..

  • Because of videos like this, Chuck Norris would give Lance his left nut

  • This should be named 'Joseba Beloki's Horrible Crash 2003'.

  • Fuck y'all haters, Armstrong is simply the best, he is one of a kind. He did extraordinary things wearing his yellow jersey such as attacking even when he didn't need it to. He destroyed his enemies. He is really the best cycler of all time (Merckx also). Love him or hate him

  • @FlorisK93 No doubt a talented rider.. But there is no doubt, no doubt at all, that Armstrong used performance enhancing drugs. With all the allegations from other American riders from his era, and all the alleged corruption within American antidoping, receiving money from Armstrong, there is no way in the world that Armstrong won the Tour clean. Not possible. On top of that, he was number 1 in a generation of riders, where almost everyone has admitted to have used illegal substances..

  • @ninjamunk Armstrong is innocent until proven guilty, agree?

  • Armstrong shot him down!

  • AUPA BELOKI!!! AMSTRONG OUT

  • 35 pessoas nunca cortaram atalho.

  • 2003 was the best tdf ever

  • @JtdfHeat953 i understand that, but from your post it seemed like you were implying he could have ramped that last part instead of jumping with his bike... if I misunderstood you then I apologize. If not, I stand by my argument that he probably would have crashed had he done so.

yes, announcers over emphasize things, but it doesn't change that it was hardly an easy thing to do

  • @JtdfHeat953 those bikes weigh like 25 lbs and are meant to be kept on soft asphalt and ridden in virtually a straight line... had he made some sort of leap while on the bike he would surely have broken his tire rim, axle, or frame, on top of that he probably would have fallen

  • This video gets me excited everytime I watch it, just amazing !!!!!

  • When they came back to this stage in 2010, the presenters when to that field before the race a tried to jump the ditch. They couldn't do it with a microphone in their hands, God knows how Lance could do it with a bike!!!

  • Everyone should ignore the people like Airr91, Obviously they know nothing of how hard this sport is and how hard it would be to mountain bike with a road bike. Nor do they know how to spell correctly, yes, lance armstrong had testicular cancer not "penic cancer" ignore the ignorant people and enjoy the crazy actions by Lance

  • In 25 years of watching the Tour, this is probably the most amazing thing I ever saw*. It's great to see it again (and hear Paul Sherwen's commentary) but I remember it as if it were yesterday. Where did the years go?

*The legendary "That looks like Stephen Roche, IT'S STEPHEN ROCHE!" commentary is a close 2nd.

  • now thats a super mario kart shortcut!

  • how is that amazing bike control?? he was riding on the ground... i jump on my mountain bike everyday... people feel sorry for him cos he has aids

  • @Airr91 no offense, but have you ever tried to ride a road bike over dirt? having no suspension, a hard, carbon fiber saddle and having to ride on about a 10mm. of tire contact are not exactly ideal conditions... also, he had prostate cancer, not aids and was still able to compete in the TDF last year.

  • @Airr91 i dont like to troll on youtube but you are genuinely idiotic! Thats almost impossible to do on a road bike and magic johnson had aids. Lance had testicular cancer which spread to his stomach and ultimately his brain...and he still won. so yeah. i kinda felt bad for the guy. have fun jumping your $200 mountain bike while Armstrong rides a $12000 road bike like noone else can

  • @TRBO1717 HAHHAHAAHAHAHAHHAHAHA HE HAS PENIC CANCER!!! LOLLLL I DIDNT EVEN KNOW THAT HAHHAHHAAHAAHAHAHHAAHHAHHAHA but why would sum1 spend 12000 on a bike/?

  • @Airr91 first of all you are a douchebag. Second of all maybe so he could win tour de france 7 times???????? you cant do that on a 1000$ bike? you ignorant piece of....

  • @Airr91 Do a tour, get through cancer, then come back and win the same tour 7 times, bet you and your mountain bike snap after the prologue.

P.s i hope you get aids..

  • fucking guy rode across some dirt at under 5 mph, the announcer is making it sound like the the biker just set a new down hill speed record. Screw'em all them fags in their little faggy shorts and riding the queer 10 speed bicycles...

  • @latka101 1. saw comment 2. click on user profile 3. country: united states 4. proceed to LOL, no wonder people say americans are stupid cunts.

  • @latka101 Because you did mountain bike with a road bike right? And just to cure your ignorance they ride down these road at 60miles/hour a lil faster then what you say.

  • @latka101 im guessing you are a hipster... and you ride a fixie, I hope someday you make a wrong turn and start going down a reeeeeealy big hill, I wanna see a fixed gear going 80 legs=gone

  • He should be disqualified; Ullrich forever :)

  • funny.. but not that sick

  • Da 'clean' Man

  • I wince every time I see that crash

  • I know Lance is from their country and they want him to win, but a little more focus on Beloki and his horrible crash would be nice...

  • I remember it was a very hot day which made the road melt and thats was why beloki crashed.

  • lol that man at 0:24 is first like: omg a cheater! but then he is like: nvm its armstrong :p

  • Lance was a cyclecros rider.. and a good pro too.. He started on the road in mid 90s

  • I love Phi Liggit in this clip!

  • he must be good at cyclecross

  • Why can't people just watch the god damn sport, without swearing and telling people their an idiot and stuff like that......just enjoy it, whether you like him or not...

  • Fantastic reaction and amazing cyclecontrol.. But wouldn't that actually be illegal in terms on the competition? O.o

  • @JixTheGamer only if he ended up way ahead of everyone else...since he didnt gain from it at all, it wasnt really illegal

  • @Adambobadum Ohh good good

  • @JixTheGamer Good observation but the reason is because he didn't gain any position, in fact he lost some.

  • @sbdstudent Yea I can see that :/ But I just thought that, by taking the shortcut he hasn't really "finished" the course :/ so.. That was just my first intuition :P

  • @JixTheGamer It wasn't an intentionally taken short-cut, and he didn't gain anything by doing that.

  • @JixTheGamer, cutting the track like that is probably easy to let go if no positions were gained or increased.

  • @JixTheGamer so what you trying to say is that he should crush on to him? what an idiot.

  • @jessciaalba No you're in fact the incompetent fool who doesn't understand my comment. I never implied that he should crush onto him, I just assumed that taking a shortcut would be illegal in terms of the competition since he technically didn't complete the whole course. I am not saying anything about the crash, except for 'fantastic reaction', so what you don't understand is that I thought it was great that he "parried" the crash but unsure whether its legal or not to take a shortcut like that.

  • @JixTheGamer tl,dr..ur phaggy essay.

  • @jessciaalba Nah, I think it's more like: tlcr.. becaues you're obviously gay..

  • @JixTheGamer Not ruled an illegal action because he had not other recourse other than to dodge Belocki and ride through the field. Which was very risky. He could have easily gotten a flat.

  • @JixTheGamer Only (I believe) if the manoever makes you win time on your opponents. In this case, he was hindered by a falling cyclist before him and went on to regain the track ending behind his followers.

  • @JixTheGamer if you do it on purpose yes, but because he didn't do it on purpose and although cutting the course fell back quite a few positions it wasn't

  • @JixTheGamer no, because it wasn't really his fault.

  • @Zactimus This, and because he didn't use it to his advantage.

  • @IamAcHorse umm, do you have a personal hatred of Lance?

  • @Zactimus I agreed with you... How the heck did you interpret that into me hating Lance Armstrong...?

  • @IamAcHorse sorry, thought you were speaking sarcasm.

  • @Zactimus Ahh Ok, just wondering.

  • @JixTheGamer Only other option for him was crash, so i guess NO :D

  • @JixTheGamer No, this is not Formula 1... :-)

  • @JixTheGamer no, because with this equipment it doesn't give you any advantage

  • @JixTheGamer If he went off the road/cut the coarse to gain time, he would definitely get into trouble. In this case though, the race officials allowed it without punishment because it was obvious he didn't do it to gain time, but to avoid a crash. He actually lost time. You notice when he gets on the road, the people who were behind him pass him, he then had to work hard to catch up (starting at 0 mph vs ppl passing you at 30mph).

  • @JixTheGamer I'm fairly convinced that the organizers also reviewed this specific incident, but declared that Armstrong had no other option. Also he didn't really gain anything from it. He only avoided driving over/into Beloki.

  • fuck armstrong

  • @papapippo13 fuck you

  • MusicNbulls&*t - STFU worthless troll. Get a life and get a bike.

  • @julianc1968 The truth tends to burn a hole into one's fragile and false ego doesn't it? It also topples fake cheetahs. No bike for me. I would like to preserve my sensitivity down under. Dope Strong!

  • What a legend! Some people just can't accept greatness, and want to tear people down. Accept it that he was just brilliant. I bet once Cav has racked up 30 odd stage wins people start accusing him. Some people are just brilliant at what they do. Celebrate it with them if it's not you!

  • @drudodd

True that BUT the fact is, that even his teamm8s accuse him for using drugs....i think this guy (Amrstrong) is just more clever than all the other riders to find a drug which can not be tracked.....Enough said already, but promise me, not to get dissapointed when the truth is presented to the world

  • Fantastic reaction, I started to be against Armstrong and think he could just win tour de France because of his team, but after he stopped his career and started Livestrong I'm admiring him more and more, and now i can see that he was a great legend and a fantastic athlete. He was always thanking his team and have great respect for his opponents.

  • @hvedevej22 Stamp an asterisk (a la Barry Bonds) on his forehead! May the EPO be with you! Dope Strong!

  • drugs will not let you do this , the man was epic! Fuck all you naysaying pansies!

  • @velotwo1 Exactly!

  • @velotwo1 he was still doping... drugs don't increase your eye-hand coordination, but they do increase your bat speed, and they turn long fly balls into home runs because of the added power.

the reason I don't mind that Lance was cheating is because EVERYONE in cycling is cheating, no sport is dirtier than cycling... but Lance still used

  • @velotwo1 Its not just Armstrong, all these lads are doped. No way the body naturally withstands the kind of physical efforts the Tour demands. Its not to say LA isnt a great athlete, its just his will to win on drugs was no match to anyone else.

  • @anelka09 do you have proof that everyone is doped? No you dont, you problably have no real evidence of your claims either that no one can do a tour, ofc. you have doped people, but because of the economics in cycling no team will be taken, so its individuell people who do it, if a team is taken for systematical doping, the team will loose every economic leg it ever had, the only two I believe can go through is Katuscha and Astana as they come from shady countries-

  • I coulda bunny hopped him on flat pedals, Armstrong had clips, but noooooo, he decided to risk fucking up his rims going across a field.

  • I can't believe he got away with this! If you think about it he took a shortcut which shouldn't be allowed. I bet that if somebody else had done something like this, they would have been disqualified! Bastard.

  • @surrehue333 it was allowed as he re-entered the race with the same group he was in prior to the crash... This is amazing! Not many that would have this quick of a reaction, but if they did it surely would have been allowed. He is a bastard...only because we wish we were that good...

  • @BlueMonkeyOrangeNose I am sorry to disappoint you, but I would be ashamed to follow his footsteps. I can see what side you are on, and I understand why you defend him. I mean, somebody cheers for the "best" because of it. I on the other hand, can see both sides. And I have come to the conclusion of that he, after my opinion, he should not be defended differently than everybody else. Like Alberto Contador is being right now.

  • Tainted champion.

  • One of the most amazing scenes I've ever seen in the Tour de France history

  • lll

    lll

    lll

    lllllllll ol`z :D

  • Beloki

  • The day when Virgin Mary herself showed up at the Tour. This guy Armstrong will never have another miracle again. That day he not only won his 5th Tour but also the rest of his remaining carreer (2 more Tours still to come) Can you imagine what would have been if instead of Beloki's crash it would have been Armstrong's crash? The story's ending would be quite different...

  • cool so he was allowed to do that?

  • the commentator sounds weird at 0:12

  • Haha i love taking road bikes off road abd thats how you do it kids

  • @MassiveBluntMan You can't take a road bike off the road because the tires pop easily and there are no shocks. You probably have a cheap Mt.Bike.

  • @IROCK80551 No, I have an early 90's road bike with 27x1 1/4 inch wheels and good durable tyres. It just takes skill like Mr. Armstrong shows in this video. I have alot of MTB experience and this helps greatly also.

  • @MassiveBluntMan Ok that actually sounds pretty awesome. Those kind of bikes are pretty sweet. My bike is a 2010 racing bike with 24 speeds and the tires are not too great on bumpy roads because they have no tread at all and there super thin.

  • amazing what roids will do for you, especially in bicycling and baseball

  • this,

    is pure professionality.

  • I saw this live, still remember it.

  • The commentator is a little over the top but this is amazing cycling

  • Beloki would have won that Tour.

  • @AlfonsM what makes you think that? the fact that he was in second place when the crash happened (behind Lance), or the fact that he had finished behind Lance fin each of hte previous 3 tours?

Beloki would, in all likelihood, have finished 2-3, just like he had previously. Beloki was the second best cyclist in the world on the TdF, Lance was the first. Nothing should indicate that would have changed

  • Comment removed

  • Beloki broke his femur in 2 places, his wrist, and his elbow. I've ridden clinchers ever since! Gets too hot around here for tubulars on the descent.

  • Did you see Tyler Hamilton hand off that epo?

  • He's also been investigated for fraud and drug trafficking. Dope Long, Win Wrong, PHARMStrong!

  • This was a sad event. Beloki was never the same after that crash. It effectively ended his career.

Armstrong was smart and did what he had to do but for me, this was the end of a great cyclist's (Beloki) career and I will always rememeber this event for that...not Armstrong.

  • Armstrong, big fraud.
