  • My German Shep started jumpng the fence and I hate it. I can just imagineher getting hit by a car or getting into a fight with stray pits in my neighborhood.I' trying to find out how to stop her from doing it.

  • forget "teaching him the wrong thing". german shepherd's are notorious for having bad hips/hind legs. a fall from that height can be really bad for him/her.

  • The thing about shepherds is you can cheer them to do something when you say to, but theyre smart enough to not do it when you don't encourage them. To all those ignorant people talking smack. I'm sure it would be a diff story with your little beagles. but not shepherds

  • haha my dog does that all the time!! so we made him start doing agility and a few other sports!!

  • german shepherds are obedient they wouldn't run away

  • @theferry97 Mine took off 2-3 times in his lifetime. They surely run away if they feel like it. It's not really a "I'm trying to leave you" effort. It's a "I'm bored or curious what's over here and nothings stopping me - Oops, I'm lost."

  • @Odbarc ohh ok sorry i didn't know :p

  • haha I thought my German Shepherd use to jump fences but then I caught it one day opening the fence while I was out the front... all it wanted to do was be with me hahaha

  • did you get him to stop? if so, how? my dog has a fence jumping problem..

  • tht can damage to his/she legs in the long run

  • nice

  • I would advise you to be carefull, getting down from that hight might seriously injur a joint.

  • My German Shepherd (I have a vid of him on my profile) is 5 months old now and he already scales a 4ft fence I put up to stop him getting upstairs when I nip out. Incredible really, cant stay mad at him though. At least he behaves when im there

  • nice video ,, athletic dog!!!very beatiful too!!but i recomend you to built a higher fence!!!

  • Wow! Great Video!

  • I just cross my fingers my shepherd doesn't do that lol.

  • my 2 year old German shepherd could jump that fence lol

  • excellent!!!!!!!!!!

  • That's the ghettos 6 foot fence I ever seen biAtch

  • That's the ghettos 6 foot fence I ever seen

  • this is a good trick but only if he has proper training before learning this my.

  • So what do you do if your shepherd likes to jump your 6ft fence? Is it possible to train them to not do this?

  • lol my dog does exactly the same technique hook the front paws and scramble with the back ones

  • LOL! YOU better move! LOL! Could hardly count as jumping though, lol! I saw the title and was like....ya....uh huh.

  • i member when my dog did that once

  • he probably thinks someone needs to be rescued on the other side

  • wow cool

  • he didnt jump over that he climbed

  • Nah, he is extremely tough, you have no idea. Good try, but you failed.

  • Do you actually WANT your dog to jump fences and run away? If my dog did that, I certainly would not be standing there and cheering.

  • He jumped it all the time... He wouldn't do it in front of us, until we got him to.

  • @papalokey - how often to you take the dog out on adventures??? maybe it's bored and that's why it kept jumping the fence. Remember that wolves explore vast territories... german sheperdsstill have those genes... that's why they originally were used as "sheperd dogs". You should try to take your dog to the woods or something.

  • @yokhana i agree

  • umm thats not high

  • @Tunknatar uhm... in case you didnt know when dogs are sittting looking up at six foot fence... its verey high.... i would like to see you jump that fence and see if you could do better :D

  • so you encourage it to jump the fence. good way to teach it the wrong thing. i hope it doesnt do it when you are out

  • He was doing it all the time. When the dog catcher came, he would jump back in the yard.

  • @filthyenhancements @papalokey German shepherds will jump over fences. They love it. Try owning a beagle. They will just dig there way out when your not looking.

  • german shepards are just ready for the business!

  • lol that dog's so cool , i love german shepherds

  • holy shit

  • "emotional blackmail" he jumps it all the time, he just didn't want to do it in front of us. heh

As for the rest of the comments! Cool! thanks!

  • this is apparently common, as mine jumps too, i have found no solution. knocking her off the fence repeatedly didnt do it. she is so bad.

  • Beautiful gsd, and he loves u all lots.

If he was mine I'd never use this emotional blackmail to get some exhibitionism out of him,

Play with the dog keep it safe for him too!

  • yes my 1yr gsd does this as well. I am now going to have to raise fence a bit higher as there are coyotes around at night.

  • @kippwp - you probably don't need to raise your fences... a lone coyote won't want to challenge a german sheperd

  • my german shepherd does this anybody have any cheap solutions how on to stop my Gs from hopping the fence he can only hop over whens theres a board that goes a cross thanks.

  • I have a GS , and she is a REALLY good jumper :D

  • that's what my dog elsie (also a german shepherd) does

  • i have a german shepard too and it cant do this. i wouldnt compare the two breeds, pitbulls are muscle dogs all they do is workout. this video is impressive because its uncommon for these dogs to be able to jump fences.

  • lol And i have a challenge for you...my Kelpie can Clear over 5 1/2 feet....can any of these muscel dogs do that?

  • who cares, my godfathers german shepard would clear 6 foot fences so quick it wasnt funny. even when they got a taller fence it would jump and then climb over it.

  • yea my kelpie can climb over a 9 foot fence easy as long as he can get his paws on the top he can get over anything. Im talking about 5 1/2 feet clear without ever touching it....the world record is only a few inchs higher then that...these shepards would own my dog if they ever caught him...but they would never catch him haha. He would be gone by the time a shepard got over even a 5 foot fence lol.

  • @royalphantom1 Not every dog has been trained to jump tall fences and not every dog has a "no fear" attitude to jump them. E.g my German shepherd puppy has no fear for jumping and climbing high things already at his age, not many dogs have the guts to do it.

  • cool he's still young right? maybe less than a year

mine is 7 months and looks a lot like yours!

  • i think he was about 2 during this video

  • wow then my dog is gonna be a big one!!!

  • wat kinda dog u got. and how old is he.

  • i have a GSD he's going to 8 months and he looks exactly like the Shepherd on this vid.

  • he's a badass

  • thanks!

  • Wow that german shepherd can jump high!

  • all buildings in single bound..

  • Wow...he looks identical to my dog blitz, which is surprising because ive never seen another dog quite like him.

  • yap! he's good lookin' like his owner!! heh

  • we have a german sheperd named bello

  • sweet, tell him "hello"...

  • yea we had to redo our fence to when we got our new shepherd.. hes a knuckle head...lol

  • yap, mine just got old n fat! he can still do it, but he is too lazy..

  • My german shepherd can do the same thing! I had to raise the fence from 6 ft to 8ft to keep him from jumping out! Nice dog!

  • thanks! sweet, keep a good eye on him! :)

  • WOW, i didnt think he was going to get over the fence but he did it, im impressed. I have a german shepherd too, he looks very similar to yours and we had to put up a big privacy fence because he kept jumping the small one haha.

  • lololololo yeah!

  • aww that was so cute. my little poodel can jum three and a half feet onto my bed but wont jump over a stick two inches off the ground. your dog is brave and smart.

  • thanks! yours is too!

  • did you train it to do that?

  • BRAVO, great jumping

  • werd to his motha!

  • He's a gorgeous dog !!!

  • wow! thanks! that was very nice of you.

    -marc

  • thats natural for a german shepherd

  • really? thanks for watching!

  • yah. lol my dog does that to hes 5 years old and white german shepard opens our side window with mussel then jumps out and hops fence.=[] amazing to watch

  • coolio! yap them dawgs gotz skillz!

  • Amazing! Thats one of the millions of reason they are the top picks for military and police and guard dogs.

  • tru dat!

  • oh my god. that dogs a beast! u let him live inside or outside?

  • he is an inside dog.... unfortunately... but a great watch dog. everyone is scared of him...

  • what stinks is everyone is so scared of gsd's my is a huge baby..she just wants the attention

  • yeah mine too, oh so sweet and lovable!

  • My german shepherd could jump our 8ft fence. But she never got hurt because she could clear it. ;)

  • get that dog a red cape with an "S" on it..

  • wow i hope my puppy isnt able to jump like that when she is older because our fence is only 4 foot

  • hope n pray!

  • Oh crap.

Our current fence is only 3 foot.

  • Should have had a safer fence, what if he lost his back foot's grip and his stomache/dick took all of his force, then fell forwards, tearing his stomache, he loses balance and falls on his neck breaking it. Cool trick though.

  • habla ingles?

  • holy crap !!! i have never seen that ever happening cant he run loose?

  • yeah, but we have him trained now not to jump the fence. he can still do it though.

  • thats actually good training and exercise for a shepherd.

  • wtf lol get a 12 feet fence

  • wholy shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • wow, I have to put some barbwire on my fence :)
