muzica adevarata dainuieste.... nu ca si gunoaiele din topuri (apar si dispar)... urmareste-l pe Celibidache cu sonorul inchis si ai sa vezi unul din dirijorii mari ai lumii traind fiecare nuanta a piesei... dar, din pacate, societatea de azi e mai impresionata de "nuantele" manelelor...

Oh, I just remembered a little something I'd like to share - more than 80% of the orphans in Romania are from gypsies who breed too early and abandon their kids when they can't make money on them (via welfare, etc), instead letting the Romanian taxpayers pay to raise their brats. Romanians ought to kick all the gypsies back to India, and channel the money they'd save by getting ridding of them into advancing the arts, especially good ol' classical music. :)

@goodbyelonglive44 Moldovans and Romanians are the same type of people (keep in mind that Moldova used to be part of Romania), only Moldavans have a bit more Slavic admixture. If I remember my history correctly, Moldova was given to the Soviets to make up a war debt, so that may have something to do with the conditions there now.

@HereticLikeGalileo Moldova was not a compensation for the war debt Romanians presumably had towards USSR, since Moldova was taken before Romania (or USSR) entered the WW2. In was stated in the secret, Ribentropp-Molotov pact, in 1939, and fulfilled in 1940. This was one of the reasons Romania entered WW2, by the way...

Nu am vazut dirijor mai carismatic decat marele nostru Celibidache! Nici macar Karajan...romanii au valoare! Multi au profitat de pe noi si noi am fost atat de prosti incat am acceptat! Ne onoreaza Celibidache, Lipatti, Lupu si multi alti muzicieni, ca sa nu intru in alte categorii de valoare! Romanii sunt grozavi!

Enescu captures the romanian flavor like no other with its rhytms and gypsy influences. The peasant dace is also a part of it.. totally enchanting like a visit to that Balkan country.

there were no gypsy influence in Enescu's music,gypsi's are inspired by romanian music in first place,Enescu captures the romanian flavor indeed,but its all romanian folklor!

I don't think any one ensemble could perform this piece like they did that week, with Celibidache at the helm.I was about 10 when my dad took me to the rehearsals that week;he was 2nd violin at the time.Awsome and incredible! Something that I won't forget for the rest of my life!

ooo this is such a wonderfully delightful piece. lol reminds me of strauss (the beginning is soo light and fluffy) and borodin for some reason. I think there is a second rhapsody, itd be nice to hear that one too (if there is). Does anybody have other videos with other orchestras? cause it'd be interesting to hear a different rendition for comparison

Yes. Music of Enescu is just great and the baton work is very expresive even for Celibidache.
