Ugly exterior, ugly interior, ugly wheels, handling of a shopping cart...it does however sound very nice, that sound makes up for the other things a bit however it doesn't come close to a supercar. Everything has it's price though, this is a cheap, it's not supposed to compete with Ferrari and Porsche.

I don't see this car running under 12s in the quarter mile, my car ran a 11.12 at Sacramento last month, I even have the time slip for the run, trap was 128 too. Then there's the looks, the interior, the brand and so on. It's just in a different league. The E55 is pretty amazing for the price, got mine for 28k from Chicago at 68k miles with a 3yr warranty so I don't know why anyone would buy this POS.

@Neee35 Yh the W210 is the non-supercharged E55, the W211 is. Mind you 476hp is just a marketing thing because the SL55 has the same engine but Mercedes decided that the flagship 55k had to be more powerful, in reality the CLS55, E55, SL55 all have 500hp. My car has a pulley, tune and headers right now, it's making 471whp which is ~560 crank HP which is what manufacturers give. This car responds very well to bolt ons and the bolt ons are cheap, this package was $2800, less than a full Eisenmann.

@Neee35 :D Are you serious? Again you're comparing a supercharged Mercedes V8 muscle to an economy V8 car. In short, of course the Mercedes is better but like I said, everything has it's price. The E55 is pretty cheap now though, they go for as low as 21k especially in Texas I've seen alot of 55s being sold there for great prices. The modifications are cheap too, you can make an E55 a 10sec quarter mile car with ~11-13k, the newer E63 is less potent though since it's NA.

@princepersia1 How do you know this car isn't running 11s? Plenty of this type of car (Commodore) run 11s and under... and they're not exactly expensive... I'm looking to buy one at the moment that has 400hp (completely NA) at the tyres and the guy is selling it for $11k. It's 100% registered and legal too. I'm not saying E55s are shit because I'd love one! Just saying don't rip on cars that: A) You don't know anything about and B) Are different to what you like.

@Leigh666XF You're absolutely right, these cars are awesome and have MORE potential than the AMGs but I was just saying that it's not a "supercar" and the AMG isn't either. These cars can not only run 11s but even sub 10s. Also as you said they are pretty cheap to modify and the Chevy engines have a solid basis for modifications. I was talking more regarding all round luxury and prestige than all out speed. 11k doesn't sound bad for a 400whp machine, I say go for it ;)

They may not be a "supercar", but it doesn't take a whole lot to make them quick in a straight line AND around corners. Sure, it might take a bit of money but it wouldn't even be a quarter of what you'd spend on a 458 or LP-540. Looks are subjective and interiors are easier to upgrade than the engines. Maybe not "supercars" but still a very nice place to sit and thunder around some mountains.

P.S. Truth be told I'm actually a Ford man!

@Leigh666XF I agree man, put some money into it and they really go crazy and they're cheap to modify. If you're a Ford guy I'd recommend a Mustang Cobra from ~03-04, that generation of Stangs was MEAN looking and the blown engine has real potential. They do have very bad interiors though but who cares right, if you're looking at your interior then you're not going fast enough right :D I've never been on either side, Chevy or Ford these simple muscle cars are hard to beat,good luck ;)

My current car has the same engine though so I know what you mean. Having said that, the blocks do have a tendency to crack at about 500hp so you can't go too mental unless you want to create to inline 4s...

Btw yes it's a 4.6 but I've seen people drop 5.4s in them. They sound insane and they look crazy. Sucks you guys have to import them though but if you did at least you would have a rare car right. btw 302 windsor in what car? I thought the aussie market got the cleveland in the 302 ford australia cars, great engine.

The were sold solely in our Falcon.

I have a 302 Windsor and they do like to crack blocks. I've seen a half dozen at least split straight down the middle.
