i've been recently entertaining getting this device, and after lots of reading and several videos, your raw demonstration just tipped the scales in favor of getting one. i currently use two Akai Headrush pedals, which are great delay/echo pedals - decent loopers, but do goofy things after playing a loop for a continuous 10 min or so. i think i'll sell one and get this dedicated looper to handle looping. i'm grateful for the video.
is it possible to plug in two instrument and have them both be playing/recording at the same time? for instance, if i got a mic with a 1/4" guitar cable adapter, would i be able to beatbox or sample my voice and have my guitar still play? i guess i'm asking if stereo inputs means that it automatically shoots either track to the left and right respectively...would it just be best to get a splitter and record in mono?
@hiddenflask yes, you can record from both inputs at the same time.. i usually have a guitar/effects chain into input 1, and a keyboard, or sometimes a mixing board plugged into input 2.
Hey man. I got a blues jr. and I run some overdrive pedals through them. (Ts-808, route 66). I was wanting to hear your opinions on what it sounds like with overdrives on.
The Boomerang is a pretty solid unit. I liked mine, but just not enough to replace my RC-50.Loop Station. I would definitely recommend either. It just boiled down to preference really.
@Stratomacaster would you say the RC50 is a better unit than the boomerang? because i was considering buying this pedal and i'd like to know someones opinion who has experience
@SmallFish616 The RC50 has more features, inputs and outputs, controller capabilities, but has a steeper learning curve as far as out-of-the-box operation. You REALLY have to read the manual before trying to get the most out of it. The Boomerang was simple, worked really well, and was much more portable. If I'm not mistaken, I think the RC50 also has a longer recording capability with all three channels.
@tubescreamer Well, not to argue the point into oblivion, but... I have used my RC-50 three or four times a week for the past two years without a single issue. I am a member of several FX/Production forums and have never heard any stories about reliability issues for the RC-50. Quite the opposite actually. And as for sound quality, they both sample at 48KHz with the same noise limiting circuit in and the same MU35 outbound amplifier, so the quality is technically identical.

Howdy, nice video! How do you get both the octave and the reverse assigned to the same button?
jeddwards 10 months ago
@jeddwards It's actually not... the camera angle just makes it look like the octave is selected when it's really not.

@SmallFish616 I've heard horror stories about the reliability of the RC-50. Also, the Boomerang has much better sound quality.
