  • I still need this one for my collection!

  • @323desi -- well then contact me at dasarathasuta@yahoo.com and we'll get the ball rolling!

  • Вы уникальный мастер, спасибо.

  • Do you do any wooden pennywhistles ?

  • @laughing1986 - Yes I sometimes do, I have some very nice ones right now made from bamboo, key of C#... cost $20 plus shipping...

  • Man you are awesome

  • can i buy a twenty dollar flute please !?

  • @davmart88 SURE!

  • hello dude- er, how much is this one th first one please ta.???

  • Yo . man! i have mailed ya twice. good tings in three's so, send us a flute ... to hell with the expense.

    Uk

    woohoooo

  • das got to be one of the very very best of all flutemakers and players

  • what is the one at 1:11? It seems different in shape and sound compared to the first one I would prefer that one.

  • if you are ready to Adopt then I can send you details - please correspond to dasarathasuta@yahoo.com... thanks!

  • those shakuhachi look very phallic, lol...I love your creations. Beautiful tone Very affordable too! I'd like to learn how to make them myself.

  • Hello sir, I have much enjoyed you video's, Is the sakuchachi you demo'd at 1:40 still available for purchase? I play many different wind instruments, and would be interested in one of your hybrid non purist style :-) root end sakuhachis (following the line of non purist, bass playing Kyotaku zen masters :-) ) ... take care Hélio Belgium

  • Your touch of added Reverb makes them sound really nice! Great playing. I bought a shakuhachi flute in Hawaii a few years ago and I think it was from you. If so, it still plays wonderful and has a beautiful tone.

  • hey there, i'm really in love with this instrument and i'm seriously considering purchasing one... I would definitely buy one of your cheaper flutes, for maybe 30 dollars, but there are 2 possible problems:

    1. i live in the uk, can you ship to here?

    2. I would prefer to buy one with the classic notch, would it be possible for you to make one with this for a little extra?

    many thanks

  • 1. I can ship anywhere, UK should be about $30USD for Airmail, 2. I make what I make, exactly as shown in the video.

  • wow the sound from those is so full and ripe! absolutely beautiful! thank you for enlightening me to Shakuhachi flutes! Im in love!

  • thats amazing. the sounds are divine. I could barely believe my ears everytime he stopped talking and started playing, i subconsciously went "oh that's bullshit he just dubbed over some 1024kbps sound from some sound track" was how beautiful the flutes sounded.

  • HI and thanks for the kind words. Actually my crappy little digital camera records the sound at a VERY LOW bitrate, so to make it listenable I have to punch it up a little by using audio restoration plugins in my video editing software... kinda like "making a silk purse out of a sow's ear" heh heh...

  • Oh now being a hippy ain't so bad!

  • can we say 'hippy"? lolol! love those instruments man, and i love hippies too :D

  • I ain't no hippy, sir, I read five languages and have translated dozens of scholarly works into English, plus I've composed music that fills 108 CDs... more like the eccentric college professor type to you, thank you...

  • Great video. Very interesting to see your improvised shakuhachi. I love the sound of the deep base ones, and think it would be fantastic to play - however I am no musician by miles and need every bit of help possible in getting something easy to form a note in the first place, and then blow out a half decent melody. What would you reccomend?

  • Just adopt a flute and Keep On Tooting... and watch the vids too...

  • nice man and very funny and smart....i like him

  • Tha'ts a very nice quenkuhachi

  • i love the all flutes but most beaitiful sound: the second!

  • Oh cool.

Now I'm wondering if I could make a three-hole pipe that way.

  • son vraiment trés agréable , que ces hybrides "sakuhachi"...merci l'artiste

  • do you know any website were I could get some instructions on how to make a shakuhachi hybrid... I am in the hobby of creating instruments...

  • what kind of shakuhachi flute is that and what key is it in

  • I am a traditional Shakuhachi player from 1.6 to 3.3. I want one of these beauties to add some more flavor to my mix.

  • wow. awsome. i just got one from yungsflutes. it is basic basic. but these are great. awsome. i will favorite this one. check out my channel. i make wild wild vids. take care bro 5 stars this vid was very enjoyable

  • Thanks! I'm sure you will like the one you got, us flutemakers just make DIFFERENT kinds of offerings, none are better or worse...

  • Das, do you sell traditional quenas and quenachos?

  • Sometimes I do, but I don't have any right now. What you see on the YouTube videos is what YouTube gets!

  • Whaddayamean "waiting for it to split"??? If you follow simple rules as I have, then you will practically never have a flute split, ever.

Just pick it from the field already dead and really cured by Nature, the good ones who have not split are showing you that they are the hardy ones, versus the fragile ones who have already split, thus you pick the guys who will not split over time, they will also sound richer and fuller, and they will even make a note sound if you tap them the right way...

  • Thanks for the kind words. Yeah I wish I could either learn website building real fast, or else find someone who is already an expert to help me with this. I just put up a template from Dreamweaver, I was looking for something green, and the only one had a glass of wheat grass juice on it!!! Well hey, that's good for your health too, just as bamboo flutes are...

  • Erik The Flutemaker has a DVD on how to make bamboo flutes, but I have not seen it, he even sells a specialized toolkit too which is pretty nice of him to offer that. I watched a few of his YouTube videos, he has some different manufacturing techniques than I do and thus it seems that all makers differ slightly in the details of their approach, since everyone is an individual!

  • Good looking and sounding stuff, my man.

Waiting for you to put it all on your website.....

  • i love it!!! i just got a few quenas today. thanks for being awesome!

  • Pretty Cool! They sound really great! I hope you get your site up soon! Best of Luck!!!
