  • You forgot the salt butter sucks with out salt

  • @hakunamakarla Butter without salt does suck, but Unsalted Butter doesn't have salt in it. Season to taste :-) !

  • can you use a can of condensed cream? Sweet cream is so expensive, it's more than a gallon of milk.

  • @awebreeze I look forward to you letting me know!

  • Thank you for this video! I think I like your method versus the shaking :)

  • 0:16 LOL

  • u idiot u dont know nothing about making butter.......u have to let it break first then u take the butter milk out

  • @dynam1tefilms

no it doesnt care... break is just for giving the butter an acid good taste

  • thanks. but why is there a pigeon in the sink at 3:03

    :0)

  • lol....wow. No that's not a piegeon although it did look like one. That the strainer he used to strain the buttermilk! : )

  • it looks like anything than a pigeon!!!!!

  • i think its the siv he used for the butter milk

  • merci beaucoup très bon vidéo

  • how long does the butter last in the fridge?

  • Same as regular I would say.

  • wow! I tried it today and it was soooo easy and came out great! thx! :)

  • This guy failed to mention that this tastes absolutely fantastic! The butter from the store is the same ingredients but it just ain't even close to how good this is. I added 2 big cloves of garlic and a healthy pinch of sea salt and got a heavenly garlic spread. I'm not kidding. This is worth the trouble and mess! Do try it!

  • mine turned out nothing like that and my only difference is i used a blender... ugh

  • you have to leave the cream that you are going to use out in room temperature for 12 hours then do this

  • Wow.... If I had known it was THAT easy, I would have been making it at home, long ago. O_O

  • no you just get half a bottle of milk and shake it!

  • lol u just shake milk all day

  • it has to be heavy whipping cream not milk

  • i did try once and i think i turned the milk into heavy whipping cream :-)

  • you keep shaking it after that then it will turn to butter so you were close

  • Why the hell is the camera all retarded?

  • dunno

  • AHHH! DON'T WASTE THE BUTTER MILK! dude save it and make pancakes and biscuits and other yummy foods...what a waste...it doesn't go back that quickly....

  • He didn't! He put it in a bowl that was placed in the sink. He even tells us to keep the buttermilk.

  • It works but it takes to long another way is adding the kind of milk he mentioned

add a lil salt and put em both in a container with a cap then close the container and shake it works its like chruning but its a lil faster

overall he has a good way too. so not trying to say im beter but he got skills for thinking of dat

  • kewl! thanx 4 posting that!

  • how long does it keep in the fridge?

  • this is so cool I made it last night it was so easy! thanks for posting!

  • Can you use milk instead of cream?

  • You could try I suppose.

The butter is extracted from the cream by separating (or "breaking") the fat from from the milk emulsion.

With cream, you start with about 10-11% fat, (twice that if double cream).

With milk, whole milk is 3% I think. So you'd have to start with a whole lot of milk!

  • no, not enough fat in milk, you need fatty cream..

    :]

  • no way, milk doesn't have enough fat

  • Chev Kev...I just made some BUTTA! It taste GREAT! I'll never buy the other stuff AGAIN!..and margarine?..fah get about it.

  • AHAHAHAHHAHA BUTTA.

  • thats cool, thanks for the butter video... ^_^

  • cool, thanks

  • i have not tried this but it is delicious, i'll never go back to the square butters or rectangles. what a great idea!

  • Thanks Chef Kev for showing me how to make butter out of my raw cream. I asked Jeff a few weeks back and it sounded like too much work. Thanks for a great video that shows me how easy it really is. I will be ordering cream today!

  • You're welcome!

I also made asparagus/cream of mushroom casserole (a riff on green bean casserole because asparagus was so much cheaper this week).

I also made strawberry icecream. It flew off the plates!

  • Man i thought you were going make weed butter ...

  • Yes, you can use sage, basil, chives, all manner of herbs.

  • me too.. lol
