This guy failed to mention that this tastes absolutely fantastic! The butter from the store is the same ingredients but it just ain't even close to how good this is. I added 2 big cloves of garlic and a healthy pinch of sea salt and got a heavenly garlic spread. I'm not kidding. This is worth the trouble and mess! Do try it!
AHHH! DON'T WASTE THE BUTTER MILK! dude save it and make pancakes and biscuits and other yummy foods...what a waste...it doesn't go back that quickly....
Thanks Chef Kev for showing me how to make butter out of my raw cream. I asked Jeff a few weeks back and it sounded like too much work. Thanks for a great video that shows me how easy it really is. I will be ordering cream today!

You forgot the salt butter sucks with out salt
hakunamakarla 6 months ago
@hakunamakarla Butter without salt does suck, but Unsalted Butter doesn't have salt in it. Season to taste :-) !
chefshout 6 months ago
can you use a can of condensed cream? Sweet cream is so expensive, it's more than a gallon of milk.

you have to leave the cream that you are going to use out in room temperature for 12 hours then do this

He didn't! He put it in a bowl that was placed in the sink. He even tells us to keep the buttermilk.

add a lil salt and put em both in a container with a cap then close the container and shake it works its like chruning but its a lil faster

Can you use milk instead of cream?
zulonz 3 years ago
You could try I suppose.
The butter is extracted from the cream by separating (or "breaking") the fat from from the milk emulsion.
With cream, you start with about 10-11% fat, (twice that if double cream).
With milk, whole milk is 3% I think. So you'd have to start with a whole lot of milk!
chefshout 3 years ago
no, not enough fat in milk, you need fatty cream..
:]
spells14 3 years ago 6
no way, milk doesn't have enough fat

You're welcome!
I also made asparagus/cream of mushroom casserole (a riff on green bean casserole because asparagus was so much cheaper this week).
I also made strawberry icecream. It flew off the plates!
