@blumac81 Well, I devote this song to my father's side of the family. They are a bunch of psychotic blamers and "scene-like" haters. One day my grandmother got "hurt" because I didn't say hello to her at a grocery store a couple days after a fight we had. So, for me, listening to this song is my way of saying I can respect their feelings, but I am only the human that I am with my own intentions. Whats all this talk I see of banning Evanescence in school? That's ridiculous, you should be able to like whatever you want. No one has control over your opinion!
But if we're talking about banning evanescence for the students to hear publicly in school, that's understandable because they really are a very depressing band and normally schools wanna show the good in them and express it through songs that make you songs to make you happy rather than grievous.

Well that makes two of us at least that listens to music simply to enjoy it. The horrifying thought though is that the people that don't, that listen and apply it to their own lives. That's all well and good if the song's based on something positive but a song like this? Who knows how some people might try and interpret this and then act on those interpretations.
It makes no sense. Amy Lee is living proof that a girl doesn't have to take her clothes off, get plastic surgery, or starve herself to be pretty. I'm not aware of any bad messages in their music. Evanescence usually has a dark tone, but I'd rather my kids listen to this than listen to Party Rock LAMFO whatever.

I know why Evanescence is banned in so many schools. It's because humanity can't handle the truth. They don't like it, they even fear it. So they try to ignore it, push it away, as though that will change it. Those of us who can handle it can see the beauty in these songs, only to have it plagued by parents and teachers and prissy students that find it horrifying.

Evanescence's songs are not only beautiful and well-written, not to mention the incredible singing, but they are deep songs and come straight out of the heart, unlike many, MANY songs, Evanescence's songs are truthful and their songs explore the dark and sad feelings that everyone has, and what most people want to avoid within themselves.

I know why Evanescence is banned in so many schools. It's because humanity can't handle the truth. They don't like it, they even fear it. So they try to ignore it, push it away, as though that will change it. Those of us who can handle it can see the beauty in these songs, only to have it plagued by parents and teachers and prissy students that find it horrifying.

Amy Lee explains loss, hardships, pain, love , and true suffering through her songs. It should be accepted by society. By schools. They should not ban it at all. This song - all the songs by Evanescence - were made for one purpose: to help people by letting them know they're not alone. There's a great deal of people on this world who feel exactly as Amy always describes in her songs, but these people (incl me) are often referred to as psychologically unstable. They're accused of being things they aren't. In this case it doesn't matter how old you are. These people are usually left in the lurch; Amy shows them that they're no alone.

@EgleTristanw It's their own decision how they interpret it; you could either stay alive with the idea that there're plenty of other people on this world in the same agony as yours, or you could choose to leave this world with the knowledge that all the suffering is over for you. And if the last option is the only way to show the rest of the world how wrong they were; so be it.
Suicide isn't something to make fun about; it's someone's last escape route. Nobody commits suicide for fun.

He and his younger sister Paige were mistreated by their last foster parents, and Paige was shot in the back by the foster-mother, who attempted to kill them both &&then herself. Paige died when surgeons tried to remove the bullet fragments, and Aaron was left alone with no one but me. You're lucky in comparison, so be happy
