  • Clausen isnt going to be the only one dying here. some v.o.s are over the age of 60. and almost all are over the age of 35.

  • WJAR still uses Clausen...it's actually kind of creepy to think that your hearing the voice of a dead man every time you turn on the news.

  • Yeah, however, for some reason, i still think WTVT keeping Don LaFontaine's V/Os for the news opens was a good move. I guess to them, any other option...excusing Scott Chapin and Charlie Van Dyke (who's at WFTS now) would make them seem less powerful. :P

  • Channel 7 in Boston I think used some Chris Clausen cuts a few months after his death, and thats why some people didn't know he died cause at least up here we still heard some of his VOs, I like the little intro too.

  • DIdn't WPVI came across that same thing years back too with using a dead voiceover after he died? I know the Today show still used Fred Facey's voiceover well after he passed, till Katie Couric left the program a few years back. I dunno if it would be creepy or not but maybe strange.

  • I think this is News Matrix, not EWN... great talent rejoin though.

  • I think the poster of the original video was posting it as EWN due to the news format used and called by WFTV-9 "Channel 9 Eyewitness News @ 9 in HD", not the News package..you are correct, the news music package is News Matrix from Steven Arnold.

  • I have explained in previous vids that they were using News Matrix at the time this was recorded, months before they switched back to the namesake news package.

  • Matie Salt (Tucker) is what we know here as here in Tampa (60 west of Orlando) She worked for WFTS (ABC Action News) then headed ova to FTV

  • This is a really good talent rejoin

  • He also made a great voice for KPLC NBC 7 in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

  • Chris was a great VO for the stations he served, especially for his hometown of Orlando. May he rest in peace.

  • Wow, I'm blown away, RIP for sure.

  • May he rest in peace, indeed.
