Have acoustic bass players gone on strike? My last 50 downloads of Roberta, Jimmy, Roy, Gisbert, Benny Green, Antonio,etc., have had the same guy on electric bass. At least he doesn't boost the treble (a tendency of bands like Maynard's and Buddy's in the 70s), which causes the instrument to cut through beautiful orchestrations. On the other hand, an electric doesn't have the "volume" of acoustic, and lacks definition, tho Diz went to them before Jaco. But doghouse is better than no house.
