  • That's not a real Khmer Martial Arts, and all of that on top these are just demonstration forms. It can be good for movies or point fightings :)

  • @boroshsonny Regardless of how many techniques a jiu jitsu practicioner uses, there are more than two or three techniques in jiu jitsu. In the video, we said that bokator has 10,000 techniques, we didnt claim that we generally need that many in a fight. as for two or three techniques, i fight MMA and would love to see someone come in with only two or three techniques, you would get creamed.

  • Bokator was known as early as 650 BC. The first time they used, there were two short sticks and then probalbly they incoporated other Khmer art combinations. This what migh happen. I used to learn Wing Chun, Wing Chun were combined from many arts, too.

  • Tony Ja learned Bokator ! He is khmer who lives in thailand ! he said from his mouth when interviewed by a cambodian journalist while he promote thai movie in Cambodia . he spoke in Khmer ! here his words in translation "" Please all khmer people support our Khmer Bokator martial art .....! u can see the video in youtube about the interview ...

  • @iengvannak Tony Jaa speaks Khmer. I said that in my series of videos in Surin. I dont know why you are posting this here and not on the series of videos I did, training in his village with his teacher. He is not Khmer, he is Kuy. He was born and lived his life in Surin. He NEVER studied Bokator. His teacher told me that. His parents told me that, And I know all of the Bokator masters in Cambodia and NONE of them taught Tony Jaa. The only time he ever went to cambodia was to promote Ang Bak.

  • @brooklynmonk1 If you want to know the full story, the interviews with his parents and his teacher, read my book Warrior Odyssey.

  • in sumatran silat, particularly silek tuo, oldest known silat, they say that silek is a mix of cambodian, tiger, and thai kuciang, cat. Also indian, persian, greek. The techniques shown here especially the cloth ones are the same as silats soft weapons section.Silek is said to be 2000 years old

  • just looks a little too flashy. They should show how their techniques would work against an actual attack instead of choreographing a set routine. Though it makes the techniques look more crisp and authentic it at the same time takes away any realism.

  • @brooklynmonk1: Tony Ja's moves seem very similar to Bokator. Did he learned Bokator as well?

  • @LuckyKhmai08 No he didnt, he used Muay Boran, which is very similar looking.

  • @brooklynmonk1 thanks for the reply. Tony Ja is awesome, but some of the moves were very similar to Bokator that's why I was curious. For example, when Tony Ja was doing the Hanuman (monkey king) moves or when he was climbing on top of his opponent to elbow them in the skull, that was similar to bokator as well. Anyways, thanks for your time and I really like your shows.

  • Congrat! so exciting for khmer.

  • FUCKING BOKATO!! martial arts of slave!! Copy Muay Thai!!

  • @samuraipsycho Actually Bokator predates Muay Thai by about 300 years. also, Bolkator has thousands of techniques, including ground fighting, which Muay Thai doesn't. So, it can't really be called a copy. If you are interested in Bokator and Muay Thai, I have published numerous articles comparing the two. you could find them with a quick google search.

  • @samuraipsycho According to your activity history on youtube, you spent the better part of Saturday writing negative comments on Bokator videos, in favor of muay Thai. But you don't have any Muay Thai videos on your channel. If you love Muay Thai, why aren't you training and fighting? If you want to promote Muay Thai, why don't you publish videos about Muay Thai? Apparently, you don't love Muay Thai even to practice it, research its history, or promote it on the web.

  • @samuraipsycho Shut the Fuck up! You don't know what the Fuck you're talking about. Bokator came long before Muay thai! Watch The true history of Thailand and Cambodia. "Martial arts of slaves" The Khmai Empire reigned over South East Asia for thousands of years, including what is now modern day Thailand. So go eat a Dick Retard! I dare you to say fuck Bokator to a Cambodians face, see what happens Bitch! I bet you won't! So shut your ignorant mouth!

  • soo awesome, congradulations :D i soo want to take lessons in Bokator many thanks and blessings too all involved

  • i used to lean bokator before it can make me strong and brave. my master tell me don't use it in bad way but i never use it coz i don't wanna fight someone and don't wanna show some1 know that i have bokator also

  • @muayThaione I also styudied Muay Chaiya with Kru Lek. You can find the videos on youtube. and i dedicated two chapters of my new book, Warrior Odyssey, to Muay Thai. I also studied with Kru Ba, the Muay Thai monk who rides horses.

  • @muayThaione K-1 is not a Thai martial art. It is western kickboxing. very strange challenge you set forth. I have done tons of shows on Muay Thai, you can find them here on my channel. I live in Bangkok and study Muay Thai, so I am certainly aware of it. but Bokator is 100% Khmer and yes it has 10,000 techniques. Could you imagine how many techniques Chinese Kung Fu has? An art can have as many moves as it wants.

  • bam bam bam that must've hurt soo much...khmer pride!!!

  • Not really into the rag fighting he does. Everything else is cool. I hope one day a second generation master can make a competition style for MMA.

  • Comment removed

  • Lovin it!!! I'm Proud to be Cambodia. Bokator is the BEST

  • Bokator is now recognized but the dispute between who invented kickboxing will never end until the stupid Thai's can admit that we are the originators! The dumb Thai's use this same fake evidence to try to claim our temples also as theirs!!

  • stop arguing who is better, just promote bokator to the world is better.

  • Bakator is way before muy thai. During the war most of masters were killed or fled the genocide.

  • WOW! He's a fighting master and a deadbeat dad? I hope not.

  • HaHahaHaHaHa yes NOT lol.

  • it must have been a beautiful day

    for the Bokator community

  • I Like his Kroma, Fignting style.

  • This a good video,Way to go Bokator. you have the made world know of Bokator. Bokator is the combination of prdal serey and khmer wrestling, I think these could be useful in competion in UFC or MMA.

  • Well, Bokator is a soldier art of kill (like Japaneese Samurai budo)... UFC and MMA fighters are not supposed to kill each other.

  • im in this video. good stuff.

  • amazing demo! Well, I don't know about 10,000 techniques. This is what Khmer masters in many art keep saying. It not really a realistic number, Khmer culture sometimes emphasised the idea of countless with the term "rop sen" meaning many of ten thousands. I think it more used in that conotation an emphasis on the flexibility and countless style and technique of the art. But indeed, Bokator is an art of many faces, since it was developed over thousand years go.

  • @sunrise3500 They do have 10,000 techniques or more! The reason why Khmer people don't like showing all these moves is because people might steal them and used them and put the word Thai to claim it was theirs! We don't like to show off!

  • 10, 000 techniques ?

  • Awesome!

  • ROFL!! the guy got smacked in the face and did a back flip ahahahahaha...

  • I'm so proud of Bokator, it's going to live on like Angkor Wat! Great vid, keep it up Antonio

  • the demonstration at the start look really serious awesome
