  • 3:04 choice noob error hahaha

  • I recently got him in a booster pack with a 2012 black/blue structure deck. And well my friend pulled him as well. He said he wasn't much liking him because of his effects was too confusing and such. But I think he is okay, but in a way kind of broken in a sence. Personally I am going to TRY and run him in a White/Blue tap deck, but I do agree with my friend that his abilities confuses the heck out of me, I've played Magic for 15 years and Jura confuses me, I rather have Liliana, Jace or Sorin.

  • I personally like it because it up's the chances of getting one, but I do understand what you are saying.

  • @HeyUhhItsRyan Gideon being in the core set hasn't made much of a difference at where I play because most people already knew what he did and how he works. Personally, I think it was good that they put Gideon in the core set because it forces new players to learn better magic.

  • @Desolyt I think you are the stupid one, go play runescape you 8-bit faggot

  • you look so fucking stupid

  • i think its pretty simple hes jst a indestructible creature

  • @THExROTHGAR This is exactly what Ryan is talking about. He's not an indestructible creature when you activate his third ability, you can still kill him with damage that can't be prevented.

  • i feel like i have seen you before... do you live in castro valley or go to a Ronin's there?

  • wow this is called tier one play if u cant understand gideon stick to your intro decks

  • gideon is a linchpin in my w/u control. love him

  • I dont mind they reprint Gideon. If they reprint mind sculpture then i will. They redid jace, chandra, and garruk. The new jace is kinda broken but no as bad mind sculpture.

  • @CFogle92 are you fucking retarded. Jace the mind sculptor is BANNED. are they going to reprint him JUST TO BANN HIM AGAIN?!?!??1??!?!?!?!?!?1!?!?!?!?2223311111!11!1!!11///?1

  • @L337wizard will you cant read. I said "if" they reprint him. Hes not banned....its not yugioh lol. He rotates out in sept when innistrad comes out.

  • @CFogle92 Jace the Mind Sculptor has been banned since July 1st.

  • @Joe11Blue: True but I like there is more than 1 white plainswalker in the format. Although would not mind having Elspeth Knight-Errand in again either.

  • id love to dispatch a gideon after his final is activated...

  • The abilities that Gideon has really aren't all that complicated. It's the way the card type changes from planeswalker to creature, and then how that creature interacts with other cards is what makes it so complicated. I think The upgrade to gideon from ajani will make the planeswalkers much better.

  • They needed to replace Ajani in the core set and the only other white plainswalker in Gideon. He is better than Ajani and is not as complicated as people think.

  • @cpreyes01 Umm, Elspeth?

  • F new players. Don't use Gideon if you don't understand it -.-.

  • @Kal069 Yes, so you should quit playing, because to someone else, you are a new player.

  • I love Gideon as well (Even though I traded mine for my first Venser). I understand how the VERY new players might be confused by him, but then I've explained planeswalkers in general at my local library where we meet every week and gotten blank looks. I think the new players will feel more 'cheated' than confused when going against him, because no one likes being beaned with an impervious 6/6, or forced into a vulnerable state. Take this with a grain of salt; I wasn't new when I got him.

  • Heh, i pulled in a Gideon in my 1st pack in my First draft last night.

  • Also when he becomes a creature he is just gaining another card type. Just like the worldwake lands.

  • @SomeGamerTag

    Yes

  • I already know how to play so yeah... If there are more chances for me to pull one of the strongest cards then it's a great idea.

  • Your opponent's creatures attack Jura next turn, destroy tapped creature, 6/6 prevent all damage to him this turn... If you don't understand those you are a nub.

  • i thought they were bring back gideon and Sorin Markov and getting rid of ajani, and lilliana?. . . am i wrong about the lilliana part?

  • @Cevdem1624 No. My guess is that Liliana is going to be in Innistrad, since she isn't going to be in M12

  • @thebigfour13 yup. a new one too

  • Yeah.... I ran into a similer problem with complications when I tried to condemn him.

The arguement was "It says Gideon becomes a 6/6 creature so it goes on the bottem" where there arguement was "But it says hes still a planeswalker, therefore not a creature and not going at the bottem"

    So yeah.... pretty confusing.

  • u suck i h8 u

  • Personally I agree with Gideon being fairly complicated to include in a core set. However, it will make the prices go down, so I can finally buy them as singles. I've been wanting to buy a Gideon since it was released in Worldwake, but my budget is a bit too low to buy a playset currently

  • Good idea as there has to be some cards in the core set that appeals to the experienced players as well as new players. There also has to be cards within the core set that allow players to learn more difficult rules as they go along especially newer players who puck the game up more easily =)

  • okay i agree with what you are saying, gideon is complicated, and some people get confused with him all the time. i personally believe that it was ultimately a good choice, because the new players need to be introduced to some complicated mechanics in the game, just to show them how interesting the game is. worse comes to worse they will ask a judge and they will get help from people. but everything else should be fairly simple

  • I see your point about putting Gideon in a core set, because the rules interactions surrounding that card can be quite complicated. However, most complications come from marginal cases that just won't arise often while playing with a core set. The only thing that I see new players doing wrong on a regular basis is thinking that they can turn him into a creature and attack the same turn he comes into play (which isn't the case since he would have summoning sickness).

  • @kelt423

If you're not on a budget, go ahead and buy the variety pack. If you bought all of them separately, you'd be spending about $200, so you're getting a pretty good deal. And if you know you're going to be buying a lot of NPH, yeah, go ahead and get them all :)

  • @HeyUhhItsRyan should i get the innistrad thing for 40 bucks thats got all fiive new premades, or the one for 30 that just comes with nine boosters?

  • Good vid man,

I must say that I have very mixed feelings about it all... I love Gideon too and I really love the idea of being able to pull him more and his price going down :) but the other side is he just doesnt feel like he belongs with the others :/ not sure why... Plus, as you stated, hes super complex. Hopefully wizards will print some sort of rules card (those helped me so much when I was a new player) for Gideon... we will see. Overall for us not so new players i think its ok :)

  • Elspeth-Knight Errant should have been the white planeswalker, rather than gideon. She is a lot simpler, and powerful enough to compete with the other 4 walkers.

  • @manashark

No.... knight errant is too OP in my opinion... she has 2 + abilites that are both awesome and her ultimate is nearly game winning...

  • @DJBranden Gideon has two awesome abilities, with his ultimate being game winning as well. Elspeth can't make your opponents tap all their creatures, bash for 6+ damage and destroy a creature.

  • @manashark

Gideon doesnt have an ultimate though, just 3 fairly good ones. If your not playing control and you have gideon then your just taking an extra turn for 5 mana, which is still good but not as good as it could have been since they still had a chance to cast spells. Still, gideon has no ultimate, and his + ability only works if you have been controlling the game (aka stopping all there creatures), otherwise it just kills your gideon. He also has a assasinate which isnt good for a -2...

  • It's a good change. The old planeswalkers are getting stale. It is a more complicated card, but that's part of the reason why it's a mythic rare. It might be confusing to new players, but at a single M12 event there will probably only be 1 or 2 Gideon Juras in the room, so I don't think it is that big of an issue. It gives experienced players a good card to chase too.

  • It's going to confuse a ton of new players, but I like that it's going to be in the set. More chances for me to get one!

  • The only thing I cannot wait for is to crack open some new core set packs just think of what is going to be in those packs already Jace Beleren, Sorin Markov, Chandra Nalaar, Garruk Wildspeaker, Liliana Vess, Gideo Jura, Inferno Titan, Grave Titan, Frost Titan, Sun Titan, Primeal Titan + all new cards!!! Fuck NEW PHYREXIA I"M BUYING TWO BOXES AND A FAT PACK OF THIS SHIT!!!!!
