Although the original has a special place in my heart, this song is reborn with Anette on board. An extremely beautiful performance, indeed. If was there, that would've brought me to tears.

I travelled to Finland from England to go to this concert. This was one of the highlights of the entire night. No-one knew it was coming and the surprise was so amazing. All the lights were so beautiful, I very nearly cried. So to hear it again brings back all the memories of that amazing night, thank you =) .

The Anette singing resembles the original version (which is sung by a kid), but Tarja's version is much better, stronger, intense pulsed ... as was the old Nightwish!

I love this song so much! However, as much as I am a fan of Nightwish, I like Celtc Woman's Chole Agnew's better than both Annette and Tarja's versions. This is not a song that is meant to be belted, most definetley. And I don't like how they changed the key either. don't get me wrong, I LOVE Nightwish, but I think Celtic Woman just nailed this song!

Anette, as a matter of FACTS, can sing the songs. She reaches the notes, sings on right tempo, etc.

Now if you don't fucking like it, that's a whole new story, and I dont give a shit about it.

BTW, what's so wrong with eva? it's a nice ballad, and you can hear vocal quality there.

When they started the tour, everyone thought she wouldn't be able to sing Sacrament, and she did. Then it was dark chest of wonders, she did. Next She is my Sin, and she did.

The hard ones came into the scene: Dead Boy's Poem, she totally owned it.

Tarja sings the old Nightwish songs at her concerts and her new band plays the songs very well! Maybe people who prefer Tarja listen to her live performances instead of complaining here about Anette! And I know that this is not a Nightwish song but a Howard Blake! Anette is a good singer and I am so happy that I heard her version of this song. It is closer to the original. I must say though, that I prefer the older Nightwish version of this song due to the dramatic ending and the guitar solo.

There is a difference in how the languages are built though as well... Finnish uses the letters in pairs or the words are dominated by A's, E's and those letters... The words flow differently.. The best way I can describe it is that finnish sound harsher than swedish....

Toumas also said they would never play Passion and the Opera, Stargazer, and Elvanpath.

We will probably never hear Bless the Child, End of all Hope, Pharaoh Sails to Orion, or The Kinslayer again either. If were lucky we will hear Planet Hell...in a lower key because the notes aren't THAT high to hit. Heck I'm a guy and a baritone in chorus and I can hit Tarja's studio recorded notes on that song.

I've heard that he's said that there is no song of NW's that Anette cannot sing.... Also, I believe that they have played End of All Hope already... During the beginning of the tour... I believe they were somewhere in South America when they played that one... I also believe that they've played The Kinslayer... I think TurquoiseWaterfall(s) has a video of it...

Actually they rehearsed Elvenpath for this gig but Tuomas said it didn't work with her voice, but i cant see why she couldnt do phantom of the opera :)

There is an interview up on youtube that has Tuomas saying that there isn't a NW-song that Anette couldn't sing... I'm guessing the time just wasn't right... Maybe they'll do it at a later time... Maybe next tour???

Well she can't sing Phantom because her voice is more suited for either rock (which really makes me wonder why Elvanpath wouldn't work) or soft melodies. Phantom is too Opera for her vocal range.

She is an alto and Phantom requires a saprano.

Anette's a soprano, not an alto. And you require a classical trained singer to perform Phantom, not just any soprano.

I don't think theres something "too high" for Anette's (theorical) range.
