No offense intended, but my family fits that discription (I'm the oldest child), and my boyfriend is from the kind of family thats normally in the show(except they dont have small children) but OUR family isn't afraid to discipline us with a good ass-whippin. Needless to say, we're well behaved. HIS family, however, has little to no discipline and his younger sister is the biggest, most disrespectful BITCH I've ever seen, especially to her mom. Like screaming and slamming doors at 13. Its sad.
No offense taken. I grew up in a lower middle class family myself. My husband did as well. We are raising 6 children, and do not have any of these types of issues displayed on the show. We simply wouldn't tolerate it, not because we're "strict" it's because we know it's in our children's best interest to be well behaved. We love them, thusly we discipline.
Yeah, I was thinking about that myself. I have yet to see them live in a mobile home park. I think much of this has to do with poor people aren't so afraid to beat some hind ends when needed.
I think all classes of people have problems raising kids. Maybe more wealthy people feel comfortable having a camera in their nice homes and/or have a stay at home parent who has the time to do something like this.
