  • Absolute history..I tried to explain this to people. The first rap but Aerosmith is still the only thing anyone will acknowledge.

  • is this considered a form of talking blues?

  • I really love this song.

  • Yes the version on the every one of us album is great. I remember this song was a "chouchou" at the Pop Club, on France inter, round 22.00, in 68. I was a soldier then. Great, even better than John Lennon's Instant Karma .

    Who played the piano ?

    Alan Price or Leon Russel?

  • Why Leon Russel?? Zoot Money played the piano. The other band members are listed in the description I posted.

  • Thank for the info.

He played a bit like Leon Russell, doesn't he?

  • this very well may be the first white man rap...this is the first album i ever bought.

rock'n good album ...the other two ...i bought in 91 were primus and moody blues.....ahhh college days...!!!!!

  • I think this was a shot to the Beatles when they got riped off by that Guru in the 60's....

  • Mmh... Not quite, as he was with the Beatles when visiting the Maharishi, as was Donovan...

Anyone remember Burdon's "A Girl Named Sandoz" ? This was - to me - the twin sister of this song...

  • I think Jamaican Deejaying styles emerge a bit earlier.

  • Could be but I think Burdon is really the first rapper in music history.

  • This is most unusual...and I don't remember it!

  • EL mejor vocalista de Rock de todos los tiempos!

Gracias por postearlo, me ganaste la idea, pero bueno...lo importante es que esté en youtube!

    5 estrellas!

  • Can we get a better version posted?

  • Not from me (not at this time).

You can get the full song on the "Every One Of Us" album.

  • I have that album and it took me some time to find it . I don't think there is any footage of him doing it live ? There are alot of unusual songs on that album , like ' the immigrant lad'. I wonder what they were thinking when they did this.

  • There are only live versions of "Monterey" and "Sky Pilot".

  • wow, never heard this one b4..dude is straight tongue twisting and ay thang 2.
