Lesson 1 - How To Crochet

Hi thank you so much for doing these tutorials. I love this pattern you are doing and want to make a blanket for our camper. I am from the uk and unfortunately we dont get the Bernet Softy Chunky range here. I have never done any Crochet before so really need guidance. Could you recommend a wool that would be available here that is similar to what you are using? Also is there any pattern you have anywhere for this Granny square that I could follow?

@tutouriplayer9 at 6:20 mikey is saying that after you chain the last 3 count back down the 3 chains and go into the very next stitch for a dc and then continue from there! does that make sense?? Cathy@The Crochet Crowd helpdesk :)

I live in Canada and not all the hooks have letters they have mm I have a7mm can you tell me what kind of hook to use in mm and yes I'm a beginner .

OMG!!! Thank you soooo much!!! I can't tell you how many "how to crochet" on youtube and didn't get it and couldn't do it UNTIL NOW!! I may eVen be able to cancel my class next week! Not only did this explain to me what the different size hooks mean, it taught me an easy way to hold the hook! All this time..no wonder I couldn't get it-I was doing it wrong!! Thank you! This is the BEST HOW TO CROCHET VIDEO! NOW I CAN MAKE MY BABY A BLANKET :)

What size are you using here? I only have size G, think I should get a bigger one but not sure how big as I am only a beginner. Any help would be great!
